i made it almost 3 laps with XRT on normal tires, only 2 laps with FZ50 but almost 4 laps with rb4. All you have to do is keep enough throttle in it to keep it sideways. No sense in making a big smoke show if you're going for laps
I was also able to drift ALOT better (like 100x as good) when my force feedback stopped acting up It had been messed up for a while but i couldnt figure out what was wrong but then last night it came back and i could feel everything the car was doing again and it made me happy. too bad i'll be at the lady's house tonight so no LFS Might be worth it tho
*small edit-only read the first page when i posted this so it's almost OT by now :P *
oh cmon guys, i play nfs and i want to make one thing very clear...your cars only have gay stripes/wings/vinyl if you put them on there!!!
now with that out of the way, i enjoy both emminsely. I'm not too serious of a racer in lfs because i dont have the time needed to be more than ok but as far as the sim aspects of it, LFS is unsurpassed...so far. Need for speed is a great game but for those older than 15, most of the things in there are just too rediculous and voer the top to take seriously. game vs sim-they're both on your damn computer so it isnt real life. Sim nazi's are close-minded. ricer fanboys are just iggnorant of better things. both have flaws that parallel the games they enjoy
it's quite stable when kept in the garage, too. if you cant drive it, atleast practice OFFLINE til you can and grab some setups from people. practice practice practice
wow, half of the stuff in my own thread i cant even understand
that's quite alright. with all this talk of prediction and rays and loop cycles, can we get a dev to comment? maybe just to shed some light on if these guys are headed in the right direction. sounds like they have but some actual comfirmation would be a nice touch
i think what bob said would be feasable. just allow for some tollerences to be accounted for when a collision occurs. not being a programmer i would have no idea where to start but i dont think we ned every 1/2000th of a sec updating for collision. that would make LFS much less accesable to everyone unless they had a high end pc
So i was racing around a tight autoX course and i just realized how much this annoyed me. I'd clip a big red barrier, sink in a bit and then shoot off in the other direction when i should've hit it and ricocheted off, not sling shotted in the wrong direction. This also affects racing sometimes but i think thats more lag. I can understand that things like collision detection is hard to program for but most other racing games dont seem to do this sling shot thing at all. any thoughts?
i'm just waiting on the rally pack because hopefully we'll have dedicated rally cars. mmmm, tarmac and drifting with high hp 4wd machines would be awesome
yeah, but its just been suggested to death. just wait for fonnybone to release LFSTweak for S2 whether that be fo S2 alpha or the full version....whenever that might be. take your time, devs, we know it's alot of work
and to fonnybone-HURRY UP ON THAT S2 ALPHA LFSTweak!!!!!!!!!
i dont know what you expect out of me. i said sorry for posting something i didnt have permission to and took it off of here. The only reason i say that there was only 1 car per race is because i was never able to join the race when you were driving around. i've done all i can so i think it's time to just drop it.
funtex, i dont think i've ever been on your server before. it wasnt full but there was only 1 car allowed in the race at one time and you wouldnt let anyone else on the track. i do understand that it is yours but if you wanted to test there's always single player so things like this wont happen. as for the driving skill thing, that was a joke. lighten up. i'll take it off and admins can close this thread. just trying to share something i enjoyed with the rest of the LFS community because that's what we do here. didnt mean to step on anyone's toes....
he didnt speak much english. i can atleast give him credit for designing it. that is assuming he is actually the one who did it. if driving has ANY correlation with autoX making skill than he didnt make it...if ya know what i mean.
only tested single player but it's tons of fun. wish the turns were a bit smoother and rounded. its like someone sat on the 8 and flattened either end.
man, most cars wont even be able to make some of those turns. this thing is like some back alley course. i'm off to go try it out myself
ok, thats fun and challenging. couldnt beat your 52.xx but i got right near it. mrt is also fun here. the formula v8 wont make it around the first hairpin with out a bit of help from my right foot
found this while searching around tremek. this idea of mine (might be others as well) isnt something i just came up with. this is from about 2 months ago and i forgot that i wanted to add mroe steering lock too same name as on here so you'll see my post at #9. just thought i'd add something
