Quote from gu3st :Can someone take a short video of a lap of the round 1 layout. I'm not at my computer for a few days and I'm having an issue visualizing the layout with the pit lane.

I have one uploading, it'll be here when it's done: https://youtu.be/1dATt5iI_Cs

Madman. Afaik, OEC has always had a GT2 class. Plus, it makes it more approachable for newbies.

When I entered, I saw myself having time to practice and at least being able to attend every round. Sadly I couldn't put in nearly as much effort as I wanted to into this series. The racing at the front was great nonetheless, just unfortunate that I've been so busy of late.

Grats to Nico and Botsi. Hopefully I'll be more competitive next time. Thanks for organising, Rony!

Well done Niko. Sorry I couldn't fight you for the second step in the end, maybe we can resume next year.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make today's race as I've just moved house this weekend and haven't yet set my rig up. Shame, because I was hoping to retain my overall podium.

Anyway, have fun and good luck!

Quote from RC-Maus :Looks greatThumbs up

Just wondering does Aston gets a 40 grid?

It always had a 40 car grid no?

Quote from Scawen :Thanks for the comparisons!

I'm planning to make a converter for old layouts, that simply adds two metres height when loading. Clearly that won't work everywhere but it should mean that old layouts can be repaired relatively easily.

That'll be handy and will save many of us a heap of time! Thumbs up

It isn't until you see the comparisons that you appreciate the amount of work that's gone in...

Quote from Botswanan Salama :You probably mean that your tyre pressures were too high.

Yes, whoops, too high.

Quote from Botswanan Salama :My race surely didn't go as planned. I was involved in several racing incidents during the race. Still, when it was around 10 laps to go, I managed to get in the lead, because I wasn't the only one having problems. However, when I was leading I went out of the track, because I didn't (or my car didn't) downshift in last turn and that cost me the win. Don't really know how that happened and actually noticed it only after the race from the replay. Very mixed feelings after and during the race. Confused

It happens I guess. You had a very eventful race but ultimately you got a podium and you take the lead in the championship. I enjoyed my race-long battle with Niko, but ultimately my race was written when I chose my setup before the start, the tyre pressures were too high and I couldn't keep them switched on after lap 40. Wasn't expecting to be on the podium today, let alone leading most of the race. I wish I had more time to practice and prepare these days.

@scawen: Might it be worth adding a disclaimer to some of the screenshots (https://lfs.net/screenshots) saying that it's WIP and not actually part of the game yet. It seems some people are getting confused about that point, seeing it as false advertising.

Quote from Scawen :But what I do plan to do for now is share lighting between tracks, so each track doesn't have to just have 3 weather configs, but they can all use any of them.

Awesome.

Quote from Stölzel :@mbutcher: Currently there is no Water.

Of course, but look at this screenshot:

That's some sort of water effect for sure.

Is that actually water? It's in the wet grip area.

Quote from Scawen :Strangely the kerb glare in LFS looks more realistic than the real thing! Face -> palm

The real life image looks slightly over-exposed to me so that's why the kerb looks overly bright.

It's a shame to be honest. It would have been nice to maintain as an archive. Any chance I could get hold of the files for the sake of archiving?

Quote from Forbin :Testing to race distance, and then some, is always super important if you intend to do a no-stop strategy. You find out how much margin you have before tyres pop.

I normally would, but I was limited in the practice I could do leading up to this race. It's been a while since I did any FO8 races where tyre life was marginal.
