Quote from Gutholz :Rules do not detail that, so question: With any car?
Say I have <1min23 with FXO but want to race with XRT, is that possible? thanks

So long as you have a good enough PB in one of the cars, I don't mind.

The event happens tonight at 19:00 UTC+1 and all competitors have been PMd the server details on the [TC] forum.

Define switched?

Do you mean inverted?: Pressing the pedal reduces braking/acceleration, releasing the pedal applies pressure to the brakes/accelerator.
Do you mean swapped?: Pressing the brake presses the accelerator and vice-versa.

If you mean inverted:

Try clicking the invert button in LFS > Options > Controls > Axes/FF next to the brake and accelerator.

If you mean swapped:

You need to assign the brake and accelerator to the correct axis. You can do this in LFS > Options > Controls > Axes/FF. Click the accelerator button on the left, then press the accelerator pedal. Click the axis that moved. Do the same for the brake pedal.

In that case, I recommend you either clean your pedals out (if that's a simple job) or use DXTweak to adjust the deadzones.

There is a way but it will take some getting used to.

You can set your throttle and brakes to the mouse Y axis and your steering to the mouse X axis.

To do this:
  1. Set your controller to "wheel/joystick" (LFS > Options > Controls > At the top)
  2. Set "Throttle / brake axes" to separate
  3. Click the "Axes / FF" tab
  4. Click "Steer"
  5. On the right click "Mouse X"
  6. Now click "Throttle"
  7. On the right click "Mouse Y"
When you move your mouse from side to side you will steer and when you move your mouse forward and back you will gradually accelerate and decelerate. Note, you'll need to assign the brakes to a button. But that's horrible to be honest, here's a workaround:

If you want to accelerate and brake on the Y axis, set 'Throttle / brake axis' to combined and set the axes called 'Thr / Brk Combined' to 'Mouse Y' on the right. You will now be able to brake gradually by moving the mouse towards you from a central position, accelerate by moving it away from you and steer by moving it from left to right.

For example, when the mouse is all the way to the right and forward you will be turning hard right with full acceleration. When the mouse is central, you will be steering straight with no throttle or brake input. It's a lot to get your head around at first but I used to have a team mate who used this and he was really, really fast.

Enjoy!

Try each of these in order until they work again.
  • Restart LFS
  • Re-plug your pedals/wheel
  • Restart your PC
  • Re-calibrate your pedals in your profiler or in the USB Game Controllers window (Start > Control Panel > Setup USB Game Controllers)
If they still refuse to work properly, reinstall the driver software.

Soft-lock would be especially nice for those who use VR. It's very distracting when you know your hands are in a different place to what you're seeing. It's distracting enough when you're not in VR.

Where there's a will, there's a way, besides, the home straight hairpin is pretty lethal of you're too greedy.

I've updated the time of my league to reflect the actual time for people whose timezone is being detected correctly as a matter of urgency but in my opinion we need to be allowed to set a timezone manually so that we don't get these sorts of problems.

New issue. Your timezone adjustments don't seem to be working as they should.

I set the start time of my events to be 19:30. Since I wasn't presented with an option to choose a timezone I assumed this would work normally. Apparently that's not the case as other people from the UK are seeing my league as starting an hour later and one person I asked from Germany is seeing it an hour later too relative to the time I initially set.

This is from my browser, UK - Correct local time:

This is k_badam's browser, UK - Incorrect local time:

This is shikari_san's browser, UK - Incorrect local time:

This is deutschland2007's browser, Germany - Incorrect local time:

So for me it shows the correct times, but to everyone else it's displaying an hour later in their timezone. So people will likely turn up an hour late to my events.

Either the times should be allowed to include a timezone ie. UTC+1 or the system should have a more adequate way of detecting local timezones.
