Did anything change for base tire grip for 4 wheeled cars (not bikes)?
Myself and a few others have noticed noticeably (ha, pun) lower grip especially at the rear, with cold tires. Even at peak warmth, the car will feel more skittish on mid corner especially at high speed.
It is noticeably different from before the update. I'm catching slides and losing traction in places I've not done before. However, it kinda makes the car feel more realistic sort to say, as the rear slip grip is now more "realistic" feeling, same for the front grip. More front scrub triggered more easier than before.
TL;DR - cars now drive less "planted" and the performance window for grip is smaller than it used to be - it's harder to mario kart (aka 4 wheel slide) a car through mid corner now as the rear grip doesn't seem as potent.
Your thoughts? Because it's very obviously different even how subtle it is... unless all of us are drunk
Hey, not sure if this has been reported, but probably some bug in the script (d'oh), almost every time a car loads in, something pops up along the lines of :
"Script 'xxx' cannot be run from a script".
If it's a paddle shift car, it says "paddle". If it's H pattern, it says 'road'. Doesn't affect gameplay.
There's also a yellow text, when opening mod list
Unless our beloved @Jonathan.Provost is being transferred out from stewarding duties...
And also, filesize upload needs to be increased, as layout .lyt files now exceed 20kb. Cheers!

Back for this special time! - Mid Town Ring Remaster 2023
Mid-Town Ring, a fan favourite since 2020 and played host to many of a great race over the past few years. Now in 2023, here lies the remastered track with a new S-section in Sector 1, and a reprofiled Blackwood Gate corner, now incorporated with the new infield section. The Classic sector 2 still remains.

2023 Remaster
A very fast-flowing and exciting track, with plenty of overtaking opportunities. Keeping within touching distance is crucial if you wish to blow past down the back straight!
It may only have 11 turns, but it certainly does not disappoint. Strap a FBM and a pair of heavy balls and you have yourself one hell of a race.

The time has come for this series to end, and so with it my 8 years here on LFS as I pursue conscription full-time now. Thank you everyone for the journey and for having a go at my creations just as I see them fit to be raced on my hundreds (of which I could never have thought would happen). NRGCL ends with 27 editions of layouts, some good, some bad, but all of which can be improved on. Don't let the editor cast doubt, it is capable of brilliant things as long as you have the mind to create
I leave behind one last gift to the community, Glendale. A V8 Supercars inspired circuit taking cues from many historical tracks from the land down under, a super driver's track making most use of LA1x's open space to instill some damn good flow into the 2 min lap time. A treat in the FXO Supercar, have a go at taming this rewarding street course.
Have fun all, and have a jolly, Merry Christmas.

Been out of LFS for 2 months just enjoying what life has outside Sim Racing. Have to say I now see why people might not want to attend leagues in the long run - consistency and results...
If I was not capable of reaching points, and had a busy schedule, there would be little incentive for me to continue racing. At least, that's the train of thought I have. There are much more things out there to do.
I believe the way forward is reliable stewarding, regular broadcasts for PR, interesting combos (to circumvent the lack of tracks at the mo)... and a (consistent) set of ballast to bring the field closer together.
That being said, ballast is a hot topic on its own so we have to find other ways to retain the participant rate. Hope someone else shares my point or is able to shed an alternate perspective.
Also with that being said above, Layout Racing League is heading into its 4th season. The first races always had close to 30 racers, but we've been able to maintain close to 20-ish throughout the season. I'm hoping that stays the same this year... New tracks, Indy events and classic combos from Season 1 remain, I really hope LRL S4 can hold its own this year. Props to Jp and Jp2 for sticking with it
Is anyone so able to make a 2022 Indycar carmod? Deadline will be by early April. Will also accept body-only mod over the existing FO8 chassis and engine, and can be with or without aero screen. Mod quality will not be judged upon harshly, as long as the looks are decent and it doesn't bug out (i.e spaz out or shapeshift when impacted).
Unfortunately there will not be a monetary incentive, but your name and effort will be mentioned during the event of which the car will be used in.
