Quote from tinvek :here's a few from when i took my son to london this year

http://s284.photobucket.com/albums/ll9/tinvek/

nothing too special though i have to admit to not noticing the photo ban on mika's car till after, probably something to do with the science museum having an almost identical shot available for sale on their web site.

Hakkinen not Hakinnen

It's crazy that they have a photo ban on it. Completely pointless.

Hey Hey!

Do you have any Mclaren ones because i'd love to look after them

Or the 2000 Button Williams, beautiful chassis. (Bit like the Jordan 199, very nice... Got a 1/18 of that!)
Or Minardi's, they're tough buggers to find.

I collect McLaren 1/18 scale models, got the following:

1993 MP4/8
1998 MP4/13
1999 MP4/14
2000 MP4/15
2001 MP4/16
2002 MP4/17
2003 MP4/17D
2005 MP4/20
2007 MP4/22

checked out deviantart mrodgers? not sure whether it's what you want/need, but it doesn't hurt to look!

What I like most about those pictures mcintyrej is that they've got such a raw, aspect to them. They're not polished, they've got grain, and imperfections, and that's their appeal. Just pure photography. Great stuff

Try more vintage camera's too, they're good fun!

We've currently got the problem bigukg, that as there's fewer racers entering leagues, that you're left with 6 guys on a grid, and after the first season, the league either flops, or won't return until potential entrants return.

That's not saying "there's not as many lfs racers, blah blah blah", i'm saying that as things stand, people just aren't entering leagues.

For example my Stock Cup league peaked at 30+ racers this spring, but the autumn league only attracted 12-14 entrants. And I was quite happy we got that much!

Check out "RaceSim" as they've got a league starting soon "Formula XFR", (previously known as The Challenge Cup) which is a serious, clean league.
See the site at http://fxfr.racesim.co.uk

hope that's help answer your question a little.

I saw your post and thought, "uh oh they've got the graphs out!" but that actually made perfect sense, and something i've thought all along.

Quote from STROBE :Not when most motorsport takes place in daylight. A fast lens gives more creative control with the shallower DoF, and is more versatile should you need to do low-light shooting, but is far, far from needed to get good motorsport pics.

Then I stand corrected. You can guess what i'll be doing later (experimenting!)

Quote from Scrabby :and what about lenses, what are all the different lenses. Please a bit more info on wich types etc

Here I see a Canon EOS 1000D + EF-S 18-55 IS <---- lens?
I really want to go further into fotography, more specific into motorsports

Go for the 450D if you can, the 1000D's an inbetweener of the 400D and 450D.

if you want to go into motorsports, it depends on how close you can get to it. You need a lens with as low f/stop as you can get.

If you can get as close as Don then I'd guess you wouldn't need that long a lens, if you do photographs from further away then maybe a 300mm lens.

It depends on where you're at in your hobby development, only upgrade when you feel you're being held back. Let your equipment grow with you as you gain skills.

I bascially went up in steps:

point and shoot Sony DSC P32 > bridge camera, Fuji S5600 (crap) > Canon 300D > Canon 400D

Servers that don't allow midrace join and car resetting helps keep them out.
Generally, if it's not a same old, same old car/track combination, you'll have a higher chance of finding clean racing.

If you're into league racing then leagues that follow and enforce(key bit) CRC rules are advised.
