I think the veterans will stay, and some of the new guys will stay for a long time and become veterans after a while.
I see your point in that the old familiar guys will be harder to spot on servers and stuff, but just add them to your friends list on lfsworld ( I have a bunch there) and look if they are online before you join a server.

But in the long run LFS will be better off with more people, more servers and odd combos to choose from on the public servers.

As it is now its usually the CTRA, redline or cone dodgers servers that are populated, with the odd team server with a bunch of guys.
I really adore CTRA for their curage to try unusual combos, and the fact that if you use Shift-S during race you have to wait until the next race/round to "play".

Just me that thinks it weird that this guys is selling his account but still wants insim programmers?

And while were at it, why don't we make all the tracks just one big long straight with no turns at all? That way we could go full speed all the time.

I was racing on the CTRA single seaters server, then I left it and joined another server, for some reason I couldn't change gears.

So ...

I went offline, tried the TBO cars and the GTR cars, couldn't change gears there.

Then I tried the FOX again, whoa, suddenly I could drive again. Then I tried the other cars again, no response when trying to change gears, didn't even help to change the buttons needed to press to shift gears.


Anyone know what causes this?

I have regretfully come to the conclusion that the ”Heart of Racing” team should be Dissolved.
I have thought of this a long time now.

Since I didn’t knew much about being a web admin and managing a web page, I’ve spent much time on making the front page and the forum, trial and error. I think we all can agree that the progress on the page have been very slow. Though I think I’ve managed to make a team site that is good enough for a team in the starting position.

The coming year, if everything goes as planned (actually I don’t have a plan, lol) I’l be studying computer administration. And therefore I will have less time to admining the team. Not only that, I feel that it was in most ways me and Enersen that tried to drive the team forward, and with little response from team members it didn’t excactly feel rewarding.
Though I’l admit that I could have tried harder, but in my opinion, when you join a team you should atleast try to get to know the rest of the people and not only expect to be contacted when things are happening.



Kudos goes to:
Enersen for sticking with me all the time, he could easily have joined a better and more known team, but for some reason he decided to stay with us.
When I asked Enersen to join and he said yes, I hoped to get a fast driver. I didn’t only get a fast driver, I got a reliable friend that I could trust and count on.
He have always been honest with his opinions, both positive and negative feedback. Can’t get further without constructive criticism.

Thanks allot mate, have meant allot to me, you know that. And to be honest, I wouldn’t have made it to Christmas if it weren’t for Enersen.

Heitmann for fixing cheap LFS server and web server, have also helped with the site and remembering passwords for various things, lol. Though I haven’t spoken as much with Heitmann as I have with Enersen he have also become a good friend that I could trust. I’m pretty sure that friendship goes both ways.

Tom in GFC for making us our team skins for free. Big kudos, not everyone would have done that to strangers (though Enersen were in the same team before). I’m very sorry that all your hard work goes to waste now.

In my opinion of course!

Some tracks aren't made for todays F1 cars, like Bathurst for example. Would be a booring race with almost no overtakings. Just like Monaco, which in my opinion is the most booring track in F1 these days, right before Indianapolis.

Doesn't look right when he is steering his wheel and you can see the guy on the screen doing exactly the same. The view should have been right above the steeringwheel or something.

But LX4 isn't comparable to the TBO's, it would smoke them on a track like FE Gold, easy to drive, fast corners and acceleration. I think it can last longer too without refuel or change tyres.

I'm not with this, do you mean that people that doesn't use cockpit view isn't "serious"? If so, thats bullshit.

My point on the other hand is that as long as you have your view INSIDE the car and on the DRIVERS side, that should be enough for the "hardcore" mode. Because what people think is realism is a subjective thing. What I think is realistic could be different from someone elses, (note that I'm not talking about wheel or chaseviews here)

My point is that I don't think its realistic to have the view on the screen in the exact same position as you have your eyes in your real car.
This is because the field of view is no way near to what it is in real life.

imo I think what is the standard cockpit view is very overrated by some people that wants the game to be as realistic as possible.

I want it to be realistic as well, but imo the default cockpit view isn't right. In a real car when you're driving, you're so focused on whats going on outside that you don't even notice whats incide the car (well, not in the same way).

When I'm driving in LFS I feel/think/whatever that my desk the monitor stands on is the dashboard in the car.

I agree, but I don't think that having two steering wheels in front of me resembles real life in any way. The view on the screen should actually be between the steering wheel and the dashboard.
But anyway, I guess this "realistic" view is a subjective thing.
As long as everyone have their view inside their car and on the drivers side I don't really see why someone else should botter with my view.
