GG for digging a 4 years old thread!

We still need this deadzone feature though.

The gauge on the screenshot is for the XRT (as you can see on the title of the dashboard window) so you won't need it, but I also uploaded my XRG version of it. Check it out here:

Nice!

Suggestion for the angles in the dashboard editor, could you clamp them to [-360;360] ?

Maybe start by using the latest LFS version (aka. 0.6Q)?

Nice ! Finally some real change to it ! Smile

I had and idea about the car radar though, you should inspire yourself from the one in Assetto Corsa: It fades and become invisible when there is no car around, and a color appears in the direction where you might have a contact.

Quote from Scawen :I'm not making any test patch plans at the moment.

Right now I am working on the carcass simulation. Then I'll be working on the tread simulation. That's all I know for now.

Thanks for the update Scawen. I was wondering, since you are refactoring the tyre physics simulation, it is possible to implement some multithreading, even in a basic form (physics in another thread)?

What's the refresh rate that you target for the new physics ? Staying to 100Hz or some changes to expect ?

According to tour logic, just because it's not physical, it means that it won't hurt anyone to steal it, and has no value to your eyes. Pathetic.

Thoses are bugged since the release of Westhill, and I remember reporting it already, waiting for a fix.

In the case of LFS, this is different. The Stage system is perfect for low incomes, because there is no time limitation for DEMO, and you can always buy S1, and then later if you feel that you need even more, upgrade to S2 and then S3. No reasons to crack the software.

I've saw too much about eastern europeans buying PCs that I can't even afford, and then crack all their softwares, because "why buy it when you can have it for free?".

Quote from 35kor42 :It is my old video but the sound amazing.

Without any talk about VOB modding in LFS Forum, I don't agree, sound is too loud and clipping, and far away from the real car:

Quote from kturner :Why does everyone complain about the graphics. They look fine to me. Then again I grew up with dos games and old nintendo. This game is about realistic racing. And it can be played on any computer not just high end ones.

You should try to guess by yourself (hint: answer is in your own post).

Finally some news about it, thanks Scawen, and good luck with it, Thumbs up
I know it's hard to come back on a project after a long time. Big grin

Quote from Sobis :Scawen, maybe you could create a LOCKED thread which would contain short updates from you? They don't have to be specific or delivered in a timely fashion, but when you feel like writing and when there is something to write, you could update us. It really does feel good to read your posts Smile

Totally agree with that idea, that would be very nice ! Smile

I didn't saw a single "drift" in the whole video.

Quote from Waileer :11 year old thread and we don't see any of these cars in game.

Because this thread is useless, just like the "Tracks we wanna see in S3".

4462 posts for now, maybe 60% of them that are just random people writing a random car or track.

I'm sure ScaViEr already have a roadmap for cars and tracks they want to see, which type of car/tracks they can't implement with current engine restrictions, etc.

Rockingham and Westhill are new tracks, much more detailed than before. Your graphics card might be struggling to keep up. Upgrade it if you can, or lower graphics settings and/or resolution. Wink

But if it isn't as safe or safer than the previous version, there is no point to release it than to frustrate the community.

Quote from Scawen :No, that's it. And French is updated. I couldn't increase the number of autocross objects because it's a compatible patch.

Okay! Thanks, sicotange also informed me of this morning. Smile

Quote from Scawen :This is easy to see on Autocross Drag Strip, Sunset lighting. Drive to the cylindrical barriers below the traffic lights. If in P8 or older, the shadow is intermittent, depending on your distance and position. In P9, the shadow should always be as expected.

I can see it now, thanks! Smile

Any more improvement for 0.6Q or that's all for this patch ? Smile

Thoses artifacts are due to the vertex shadowing, and AFAIK, Scawen has no intention of fixing them, because the shadow system should be updated to shadow mapping (per pixel shadowing instead of per-vertex).

Improved detection of nearby objects that should be shadowed

Thanks for the update Scawen, but I can't see any changes about that, could you explain me in which case I can actually see the changes ? Smile

Nice update Scawen! Thumbs up

I think I got a bug report: Manufacturer logo looks wrong, even with default shaders.

EDIT: Could you also do this fix for layout lines ? (see screenshots) Smile

Quote from Scawen :I found the translation was updated, hopefully it looks good in P7.

What about french translations ? Actual translators aren't responsive enough for patch releases, please add me as a translator so I can do it myself.
