Kaltenborn did say that Koba's podium wouldn't affect his stay at Sauber. He being pushed to get more sponsors to stay, and then he rammed through Baton and Rossiberg. It's a very real possibility that Sauber will have two new drivers..
I don't understand why Vettle would leave from good (great) team where he enjoys a #1 driver status, even more so as I see neither Vetel or Alolso being a happy #2 driver for any amount of time.
Well. I haven't used the LFS installer for a while, but if I recall correctly it first defaults to "c:\LFS". It's possible - especially when doing things quickly and just pressing next, as people do - to assume from this that it'll create an LFS folder anyway. This sort of thing isn't new to be honest, back in the day some programs created a folder, some didn't and sometimes it was hard to tell in advance because the installer didn't say either way. That sometimes ended up in "\LFS\LFS" style paths by accident.
- Vettle had a better run T1 one, it would have been far too risky for RB and Wibber to "let" past at that point, though it would have happened anyway.
- Curse of the Japanese driver. The occasional moment of great driving, but prone to completely silly mitsakes.
- Must have been frustrating for Masaa to cruise behind Alfonso for 20 laps. He was so much faster that Ferrari should considered releasing him to fight Wibber (cost him time and tyres), and then let Alo past.
- Haemiltone's "mechanical balance" issue looked almost dangerous, his car was bouncing all over the shop even on straights.
- I'm pleased Hulkface and Ham didn't get investigated, there was "enough" overlap for Ham to not have the right to crowd him completely off the track.
- The track clearly needs some improvements. The pit exit will be changed, which is good. Hopefully the fake grass will be completely replaced with a hard surface, and preferably without a kerb, so as to avoid seam wear drama. Access roads are in dire need of improvements too, and please lower the ticket prices..
Why would those two things be mutually exclusive, or even related?
Allow the user to select the installation folder, but forcefully append \LFS to the path, in a way that it's clearly indicated. Not optimal if one doesn't want to call their LFS folder LFS, but I suppose there could be a custom option as well.
My observations from IRC: "I still feel that lack of free aim is stupid. Alien weapons always destruct when the alien is killed (too much emphasis on capturing). Country based bonuses and only a single base is wank. Classes, special abilities, critical hits and dodge stats feel like random new things that were added because they're "in" rather than because the game needs them."
"Also I'm not sure if there is real line of sight modeling, it's a %age chance to hit system end of. In the original it was possible to shoot through two windows, between the horizontal bars of a fence and between a soldier's legs. In the same shot. "
I don't understand why this Twatter thing is even worth reporting. It means nothing, and if there was something they'd wish to communicate to each other, they wouldn't use a public messaging service for it. BS drama.
Well, there are some rules that govern unpredictable driving behind the safety car. It's a question of how unpredictable and dangerous his moves were. I didn't see anything in it though, it looked worse than it was because Kobayashi ended up so far away from Vettle.
Dumbass move from Gro, brake pedal not working? Shame that Perez decided to noob it round the outside of Räi, the retirement was unfortunate but not a "terrible" decision as such. Got loose over the kerb and went in too fast as a result, and couldn't stop it anymore. What happened to both Saubers during their in-laps and pit stop? They lost a huuge amount of time for no apparent reason. Super duper happy for Kobayashi and Sauber, they've had the car to do this for a while now. Best finish for a Japanese driver in a Japanese GP. Alolso shot himself in the tyre, nothing in it at all. Points evening up will make the end of the season all the more interesting.
It's a shame that the thread which reached post limit on the US WoW forum seems to have disappeared. It was full of all sorts of lulz (and some good observations).
If Vettle doesn't break down or get shafted by a safety car, he's going to win. How much Wibber will be able to "help" him remains to be seen. Amazing pole, and still had 2 tenths in the bag, didn't need to do many laps in qualifying so tyres are fine too.
