Your CPU has ~37% lower frequency than mine, but only ~18% lower FPS rate, meaning yours is performing better per Mhz - thats not what I get if I compare with stats from the unofficial LFS benchmark site.

I think I'll give up on this, because I'm not understanding any of it now. The GPU drivers are shit (many ppl are complaining about GTX 295 drivers), and I can see the performance in ACDsee and Photoshop is "random" - but random in a way that it's either lacking in same fashion always or über smooth.

The OpenGL settings in PS CS4 have VSync enabled (looks smoother when panning), but quite often it drops to 30 clean. Not 20, not 35-40. It's either 30 or 60.

I'm still interested in more ppl doing this test though, as more tests would make it easier to see the bigger picture regarding performance across different systems.

I see where you are going, but I don't think it is really necessary. Newcomers wont judge LFS by news on the site - games are typically being developed and then thats it and although LFS is an ongoing project, theres plenty for new ppl to focus on with LFS as it is. You've stuck with the demo for 4 years. S2 have so much more.

I would like some updated news though, but that because it would (probably) mean there is a major patch release

I'm experiencing a mouse glitch on my own (I hope you don't mind me posting about it here).

The mouse moves up and to the left faster than down and right - but if I turn up the mouse speed, but "effect" gradually dissappears, but I hate high sensitivity. If the mouse speed is set to the lowest, it will barely move down and to the right (as it should), but moves up and to the left as with default settings.

This is on my newly installed XP x64 and before I installed mouse driver/software. It's the same after installing them, however I've neutralized the effect by adjust the speed in both windows mouse CP and driver soft. It's OK for now, but DPI is lacking a bit - good thing I don't play FPS games these days

I'm sorry to hear that. I've come to hate computer problems. It's just not fun to keep fixing them any more. I keep my OS's of different drives as well and it works like a charm. I had Linux on same drive as Win 7 RC1, and it died too when I killed Win 7. Both were for evaluation purposes so its not something I'm sad about.

I'm very pleased to announce our latest member in My3id Gaming. Cai Yufeng, also known as "Eiw". He is a fine 19 year old lad from China, where he just recently graduated from college. Eiw have done some laps in a kart and Formula Junior 1600cc and will, if all goes according to plan, pursue a future that involves serious racing.

The LFS milage of his are on the very end where we would ordinarily label anyone else as inexperienced. However Eiw has shown dedication, commitment and talent that is simply hard to ignore. We believe him to be a great addition to the team and welcome him with open arms.
