Off topic a bit, "bought" Rfactor and installed the ORSM V8 supercar mod , after a bit of tweaking got to say its not bad at all, far superior in feel to the Original game.

Back on topic sort of its a shame that games such as GTR2 and GPL need to be so modded and tweaked as to make them playable, cos out of the box its not that nice at all.

I quite like high speed drifting , 100+ kmh that sort of thing
but i cant stand fishtailing all over the place on the straights, i like to think of the higher speed drifting more of a Tarmac Rally type of deal rather than the "Fully sick and Hecktic" element...

Its a fair enough idea , probably no need to shoot his idea down in flames

Its nice enough to play with and has some features that are alright but on the whole i was left very flat with Vista,for the amount of money and time invested in its got a bad dose of same old same old..

And that uac thingy is annoying as clippy, ok not quite but its a close race

I dont drive in cockpit veiw, and yes i miss my side mirrors badly...

Mini map helps alot yes and sound but id rather side mirrors aswell

To my mind it has to be a better option of using your superior car speed to overtake them after the corner rather than trying to stuff in the inside ,alot of ppl (Me too) get quite nervy about being overtaken by the faster guys, like trying to stay out of the way to the extreme and making it worse.

The other fact is that were all racing and nobody like to concede a possy just cos your clearly faster doesnt mean its a given that you should get an easy pass,if its a blue flag situation then thats completely different but if not than i,m afraid you will have to work to get by..

One last point unless your driving from the cockpit veiw you only have one virtual mirror so its not as easy as you think,thats not to say that i cant hear someone close by.

Well to add more fuel to the fire (have no idea where we started) bought GTR2 today and well to put it mildly i,m very dissapointed , same old rehashed shit thats been served up for years.

I like to give things a fair shake of the stick thats why i bought it in the first place but after a solid 6 hours of tweaking and poking around forums for some insight its not my cuppa tea at all, you know you have problems when the grass has the same grip levels or better than the tarmac,so dissapointed its no better than there free mod for f1 99c or what ever it was.

Scawen, Eric and Vic ( i know your sort of gone ) keep doing what your doing cos i keep buying different sims but yours is the only one that feels like a car to me, a car with real mass and and a real sense of connection to the road.

Bring on S3 or whatever so i can buy a quality sim

Soarer you have a short memory my friend, it was TEN that brought us the BTCC,Superbikes,WRC,OZ Rally, Trackside (ok Speedweek is probably better)RPM (So glad they ditched the ditzy bird)ChampCars and lots of stuff i cant remember atm.

Oh and they did a decent job of motogp, in OZ tbh we havent had so much motorsport on the Telly ever before..

Sure some of its gone,mainly cos its cone to cable tv or whoever pays more.

My memories of Seven were shortened highlights after the footy of the old ATCC series and the old old amscar series and bugger all else...

Its a damn shame that Channel Ten is losing the rights to televise V8Supercars,they picked motorsport out of this gutter in Oz and made a world standard product, not to mention every other form of motorsport.

Its going to back to the bad old days where we get whatever time is left after football.....

As for the "converting part" all i meant was theres no need to make ppl feel small for there choice of whatever or push ppl to adopt whatever as the given standard,all i,m trying to say how about racing more and whingeing less..

I have been driving IRL for close to 23 years yet i still prefer bumper/1st person everytime, its just a personal preference nothing more...

Tell me if you ride a bike/motorbike do you look through the bars/fairing or over the top for a better veiw?

For me i use bumper cam (1st person for want of a better word) because it suits me and i cant for the life of me see why i should go on a crusade to CONVERT others to my cause

Until the sound dept of LFS allows you to hear approaching cars better and from what direction, pitspotter isnt a bad option to keep the carnage and agro down abit.

The other side of is i drive in what i call first person veiw (nfi what its really called) with only the virtual mirror , yes i do have left/right veiws bound to the wheel but with a fixed FOV it can be distracting to change to l/r veiws in a critical corner.

Bottom line for me any aid to stop accidents is well worth the drop in realism...

Yes exactly , block any ranges say above 50-200 so we dont get to see the 250 or so overseas servers .

As i say its a minor complaint it just gets a tad dull waiting for 250+ servers that we will never use to update.
Its a shame we cant use them though

Is it possible to have some extra filters for the online game browser?
Like filtering by ping ranges?

Living in Australia it takes sometime for the list to come down from the master server only to have generally 10-15 servers out of 300+ that are worth playing because there sub 100 ping.

Its a small whinge i know but its a pretty slow process waiting for 300+ servers to refresh when you only need the info for a select few..

Or locality might be ok as well maybe ?

Downloaded it ,installed it, went to forums to get some setup clues,mucked about with cfg files,played it and didnt like it at all...

Snap oversteer like everyother ISI game, it may as well been GTL/GTR etc etc in new clothes it felt exactly the same , for a game that should be so refined after all these attemps its horrible, bloody arcane setup screens and that you have to dick around with cfg,s and the like is ridiculous in this day and age..

I think the mods for F1C were done so much better than this,

ps:feels like the car pivots around the middle rather than having independent axis,s at each corner (or however you say it) ISI should throw away all its code and start fresh imho...

Sorry my bad didnt think there was a demo, shame there all the same cos i love the cars and tracks in GTL but its physics are just wierd,if only we could have the driveability of LFS with the cars/tracks and atmospshere of GTL/GTR etc etc
