I love this sim as much as the next man but fmd we seem to go off on the most bizarre tangents , who gives a tinkers what the driver looks like?

My girlfriend just bought me a Momo Racing Wheel (black one) my question is this i cant for the life of me catch a slide like i used to be able to on my old joypad, its like the front wheels cant be turned fast enough or have enough lock?


Is there some setting in LFS to cure this cos atm if the rear wheels break loose its all over, btw i,m not using the logitech software as the wheel goes off centre constantly..

Any thoughts would be appreciated big time, cos i love the feel of the wheel and i want to be able to slide like my joypad days

New threads should be encouraged otherwise you end up with one stagnant forum, sure you may have silly threads popping up from time to time,its up to the readers disgression to wether they read the thread or not.

I would rather a "community" alive and kicking with new posts (even if some are crap) than a dead static one going nowhere to be honest.

The other point is whats a crap thread to me may be a totally valid post to someone else,look at the number of "OMG ive been banned threads" most often there a complete waste of time for everyone yet there was enough passion/anger for the poster to be bothered to post it in the first place.

No one is made to read a new thread and no one is made to post in it, people are voting with there feet on the issue when they post in any thread...

Budget isnt a big issue to be honest, a DFP in Oz is about $280.00.

Money isnt a big problem but i dont want to buy a wheel twice though

Whats the best wheel to buy?
IS there a massive difference between the momo and the DFP ?
Or are there other brands of wheels that are worth looking at like thrustmaster etc etc?

I currently use a game pad and i have an old microsoft wheel which i just cant get the hang of, just dont want to buy another wheel and not like it basically..

When it gets to the point where your racing is interupted its not on at all, and i understand you probably get the shits answering dumb questions constantly, but its also a bit of an ego massage for you aswell ( if your looking at the bright side of life) ..

Remember no one really cares what we look like online , you could have a head like a dropped pie yet the very ppl that piss you off dont know that or care tbh (i,m not saying you actually have a head like a dropped pie btw) so enjoy the attention as miss guided as it may be....

Slight problem, im gettiing a black screen when joining a server..

the games still rinning ( i can hear the other players cars) buts its a pitch black screen

Amazing stuff Scawen , even though we drive you nuts with requests and the like its such a fantastic thing to be able to communicate with the guys making the game.

Alot of the rpoblem is that ppl generally dont beleive its an actual real live female playing there game of choice, so the next step is to wonder wether your actually female or some sixty year old guy sitting in his underpants pretending to be a woman..

I feel for you and thinks utterly unacceptable for this shit to happen to anyone, i race alot on on the Annabelles Racing Club server and to be honest i never really questioned her sex (she is female as far as i know). Not to mention shes so much faster than most guys at any of the tracks we play on.

Personally keep telling then to phark off and then procede to beat them on the track

Couldnt have said that any better, to assume everyone knows where and when to brake is sheer arrogance.

Its also arrogance to think ppl have the same setup and style to allow them to brake in exactly the manner time after time, i have raced karts for a few years and do know what you guys are saying but to say a kart turns in the same way as a sim being steered in my case by a gamepad is nuts.

Makes overtaking pretty random at times..

Spider you invite the general public onto "your" server when you make it a public server, dont cry foul when the people you have just invited dont play the way you like them to, if it bothers you so much make the damn server private...

Having never used a wheel i dont know if could get used to on let alone FF, been using a gamepad (thrustmaster dual ana) for so long it would feel wierd not to have the precsion you get used to using very small inputs with your thumbs..

i,m a lazy bastard tbh i couldnt be stufffed setting up a wheel everytime i wanted a game ...

S1 Community has left to for greener pastures of S2 land, wether you make the move is up to you..

Now now no point going on about how little time S1 land was popular cos as an avid forum reader you knew all about the S2 subdivion being worked on and that new homes would be available very soon,so the best idea is to go see the bank manager and borrow some cash for a new S2 house and you play with all of us..

The handling at high speed is fantastic , you can attack the corners with precision and it feels wicked . Low speed for me atm with the few sets i have feels understeery and lazy, it just wants to push followed by sluggish oversteer that makes the car feel unconnected to the road.

Still an awesome weapon and heaps of fun , love the F08 now though its a FOX on roids lovely stuff
