Can anyone explain why that yellow honeycomb car appears to be sponsored by Georgia Tech? The Institute would probably throw a hissy fit if some Hungarian company is indeed using their logo.
I'd love to have one of these codes if someone has no other plans for it
haven't tried Iracing yet, a free month might just be the thing to convince me whether the money is worth it (I don't find the pricing system awful, it's just that I'm broke as it is )
North Korea Brazil was actually a pretty good game... but by far the best part of it was hearing the announcers make fun of the North Korean propoganda...
according to the national team coach, Kim Jong Il himself built an invisible phone to phone in tactical changes to the coach. Add this to the North Korean players being amazed by one of their teammates' cellular phones (I think he plays in Russia? unlike the vast majority of the team), and it seems rather unlikely... one of the US announcers (paraphrasing here): 'It does sound unlikely, but then again, remember that this is the guy that shot 38 under par the first time he ever played a round of golf...'
there are rumors that the 'North Korean fans' are not North Koreans, because nobody has been allowed to leave the country. The rumor is that they are in fact paid Chinese actors, who are being paid to cheer for North Korea.
Also, North Korean games will not be broadcast in North Korea unless they are North Korean victories. I wouldn't put it past them to edit out the two Brazilian goals, and broadcast it as a victory with North Korean commentary...
It wasn't about that result at all.... There are a lot of other nations that seem to be bitter that a country that doesn't even care is getting to be downright competent. And they like to take it out on us by berating us for what we call the game. I'm well aware that Scotland and England are not the same place, and a Scottish supporter is not an English supporter. But I can see how you thought that was what I was referring to.
bitter against the Americans much? I'll go on calling it soccer, since it is soccer here. Seriously, who gives a flying you-know-what what it is called. just play the game.
And I don't even notice the horns after about 3 minutes.
I didn't exactly mean fault... maybe I put it badly, but they should be expected to have a competent plan for such an event. Because as you say, shit is going to happen. And they didn't, and the responsible parties should be held accountable for that oversight... after they clean up this mess that is. I don't blame anyone for the spill itself, but the reaction to the spill from BP has not impressed me at all.
I'm certainly not boycotting BP, they are certainly paying enough already for what happened imo. between money spent cleaning up and the plummet of their stocks...But it doesn't really matter because the closest gas station to me is a SpeedWay...
haha SPEED announcer (Justin Bell) taking a walk around meeting fans. 'Ooh he's got beads on. I'll stay away from him, I'm worried he'll try to bear his breasts at me'
EDIT: Now Justin Bell just told us he wishes he had become a dictator and conquered the world...after being asked about what it feels like to stand on the podium at LeMans...he's certainly a character/
It's BPs fault because their 'plan' for the disaster clean-up that had to be filed with the federal government before the accident ever happened was riddled with errors, inconsistencies, and outright lies. They cited an 'expert' who has been dead since 2005, grossly overestimated the amount of oil they could clean up per day (according to their figures, they could skim all the oil off the surface in a day or two iirc), and failed completely on their formula to calculate how much oil was being spilled based on the thickness of the oil sheen. I read in my local paper that the internationally recognized formula would produce a estimate over 100 times greater than their formula... Just some examples, there were far more. They even continue to withold information, not telling anybody about the HD view of the spill they had for about a week. What they released was of such poor quality experts couldn't make a proper estimate of the oil spilling, and the HD view would have allowed them to do that.
It's also the fault of whatever government dumbbutt signed off on this 'plan'.
Not luck. The USA scored through a lack of preparation and proper positioning from their opponent. It's all about spin, the same situation can be seen many different ways depending on where you live And the spin doctors are working full force on this game from all sides.
Well, I may have a slightly skewed viewpoint in this case. No doubt about that, I'll see things on the optimistic side for the Americans. Just as a lot of y'all are optimistic for the English.
I wouldn't exactly say lucky, but I do think other keepers would have made stronger saves, Tim Howard being one of them.
Great result for the US, their one goal may have been a bit of a fluke, but not really. The goalie has to have the experience and composure to never make that mistake. Tim Howard was rock solid in the American net, and it brings into question just how the US can have three goalies that would have the starting spot on the English team... Seriously, in your entire football-crazed nation, you can't even produce one rock-solid keeper? How the f does that happen?
Carragher looked like a giant pile of poop on the field. just sayin'. I know Altidore is exceptionally quick, but no defender should ever let an attacker turn the corner like Altidore did when he bounced that shot off the woodwork. Repeated fouls because he was beaten, including a yellow. (Imo he should have earned another foul and another yellow when Findlay had a 1 on 1 against him. Never even attempted to strip the ball, just went elbow into face.) but it was not a particularly hard foul, so I guess that's why it wasn't even called.
Also, England has got to finish when they get opportunities. They certainly had enough that game, but no one could get the job done. That has to be a bit worrying for when they enter the final rounds, when they will get less opportunities than what the American defense showed them.
The scary thing for the rest of the world has to be... US isn't going to get any worse in years to come. And they are already dangerous, even to teams that are traditional powerhouses like Spain, Brazil, and England. I predict a serious run at taking the whole tournament in the next 16 years, especially if they can keep the sense of team that they appear to have... that looks to be their biggest strength at the present moment.
Our announcers are all British... no one says goal-tender here... nor are defenders referred to as backs in American terminology... Iraq's not in the tournament... but maybe I'm just picking bones here
Also, I didn't find it a boring day at all. In fact, it was a great day. Whooda thunk SA would tie Mexico, even with home field advantage? and now Group A is a free-for-all, though I think France and Uruguay will end up being the stronger of the tied pairings today. But on this stage, the most unlikely teams can put together the game of their lives and advance to the next round.
