Ah, Nuse finally found a car that takes some skill to model... Maybe you will finish this one?

EDIT: the artifacts in the render are caused by poor light setup and poor render settings. :P

I use a joystick so its just a button for shifting up and down.

Yep, I've had this problem also. It happens randomly where I can't downshift. I have to close the game and then re-open it and it will work again... Odd.

Quote from Scawen :I don't really know about that, they do seem to run out of memory and just start drawing white textures - they don't seem to start swapping from system memory. I don't really know why that would be or how it should be.

The 40 MB you are referring to displayed in LFS is only texture memory. The card memory is also used for the screen (1024x768x32 bit is another 3 MB) and the backbuffer (same as the screen) and the Z-buffer (at 24 bit that's approaching another 3 MB). And as far as I know, the use of full screen anti-aliasing is another massive increase. Someone may correct me but as far as I understand 4xAA uses 4 pixels for every pixel, so you'd be using 12 MB for the backbuffer instead of 3. Or come to think of it maybe that's an EXTRA 12 MB in addition to the normal backbuffer. Also there is memory used for the 3D objects (the HVS objects). And the vertex shaders and some other things though I don't think they take up much space. A 3D card / D3D expert could tell you more than I can but all i can say is there is a lot more card memory used, not just texture memory.

You are pretty much right. With a bunch of texture packs I got my LFS to use 210MB's of Vram with 16xQ AA and 16x AF @ 1680x1050..

Here is a pic.

Quote from jollyeskimo :lol, so much for the sound dampening side panels...

It's not any louder with the acrylic side :P Plus, the acrylic absorbs sound just as well.

Quote from dropin_biking :Not pwned. Dells are setup from the factory with software (All the software packages you order) and they set them up totally wrong, screw with port mapping, make un-nessesary registry changes, create pointless startup keys. And I'm saying, Dell's are bad PC's from the factory only because everything is messed up and un-organized in terms of file management. Therefore a fresh format after getting a Dell is a good idea, then you can correct installation paths, startup lists, and hardware settings.

Not true, Dell sells their servers without an operating system. My backup pc is a dell, and it came with nothing but windows on it. It has also been running strong for ~4+ years.

Quote : Also, magnetizing the MOBO isn't meant literally, it's an expression meaning clear the BIOS and reset the jumpers (Gets rid of glitched FSB settings, fan RPM settings, PCI & AGP speeds, and RAM timing.)

Again, not true. If there is something wrong with the BIOS, clearing it usually wont help if you havent changed any hardware or touched the BIOS. The best thing to do is to go into it and modify the settings yourself isntead of just clearing it like a noob. Also, learn the right terms, you make yourself look more like an idiot.

Quote : One last point, how does me being 14 have any affect on my opinion? So going by that rule does that make everybody over 30 right? That's a little close-minded don't you think?
~Bryan~

No, I meant that you are like every little kid who thinks they know everything about computers. Like the ones people ask to fix their computers and they just format it.

Quote : P.S If you READ my original post stating to reformat a Dell, I wasn't saying thats a way to fix his LFS Frame-rate problem, I meant that as a general tip when getting a Dell. for actually improving frame-rate. Look in the config files of both LFS versions to check to see if any settings are unusual which may kill game performance. Don't forget to check for unwanted processes running (crt+alt+dlt and click task manager) Maybe take a look in the performance tab and see if LFS is actually strugling as much as it says it is (Look for page file usage, and CPU usage)

1. Turn down all the LFS settings 1 at a time till you find the one that is killing the frame rate.

Here is my take on fixing his LFS Framerate problem.
2. Download AVG, Hijack this, Spybot search and destroy, and Adware. Then run thoes.

3. go through the Hijack this log, and google every process name if you don't know what they are.

4. Don't listen to dropin_biking, he has no clue what he is talking about.

5. Open up your pc and clean the dust out of it... It could be overheating.

6. Enjoy LFS.

ah, and you say you arent a nub? Reformat? That is the most noobish thing you can do trying to fix a PC.

Also, magnetize your motherboard? wtf is that going to do, everything on it is solid state.

Oh, one more thing, you are 14. stfu and stop giving out false information.

Also, send me your txt file, I would like to see it destroy my computer.

Constant Timeouts.

Ok, ever since the patch V, I can't play LFS online. I join any server, and after about 10-20 seconds, the ping meter goes up till I time out. This isn't a problem with my internet, or anything else on my end. It is purely a problem with patch V I think. I can play any other game I have online without one issue. But when I try LFS... no go.

Another pic without flash...

Also.. LFS doesnt support this resolution that well.. Everything is streched... *nudges devs*

Quote from The General Lee :Only slightly.

This isnt a dig, but do you really need everything that you have.

I am a gamer, and i use my PC for alot of things and it does the job perfectly.

You have a nice rig, but do you need 640 Gig of hdd?

Like I said, not a dig, just intreged

OK...You win...

Yes I do.. Its actually almost full... Also, I also need everything else, I do alot of gaming and rendering. All that stuff is very intensive.

EDIT: Also when I see a great deal on a HD I just have buy it. No matter if I need it or not.. I dunno why, its odd.

This is just a thread for men with small willies, to make them feel good about themselves.

Thats also gargon for you more than likely have a better PC than me, so I will come up with a witty comment to cover the fact my PC sucks...

Sounds like someone is jelous.
