My DFP recognises, installs and stuff. The profiler detects it AND lfs says its a DFP in controls, but the left light flashes and it just dont work. Then when you play, nothing. Cant calibrate or anything. Then you read the hardware thingy and it says Device can not starts. Code 10 or something.

Quote from traxxion :Sorry, I fail to see how this task has anything to do with the initial idea of this "contest".

I agree there. The idea is to work out a puzzle, not amuse.

Saw this on the news this morning and made a point about it on another forum. When i first heard the reporter said "rumored" and no info on how he died. But now its known i agree with Becky, he was doing something he loved.

RIP, i know i will miss his programs.

Wow, exelent movie mate. very high marks from me.

The camera angles were perfect, the syncing with the music was perfect too.

One majour letdown to me is that you had the Fraps water mark at the top, also any messages you had were only one line (like, one person said something, not 2, 3, 4 etc.) so you could of added a small black bar at the top, big enough to cover the watermark and chat and done the same to the bottom. It would give it a slight widescreen look, which dont matter, but it would get rid of the two mentioned.

I been listening more or less most of today, and i have to say its been quite good. Also the fact its your first ever time doing live commentary, you arent to bad. The only thing i didn't like was the mega delay in the sound, but i know the reason for that and when you get your server, me thinks this will be 10x better.

I likes most of the music (personal preference) (except busted/mcfly, whatever one of them 2 it was, bleh) didn't hear ads tho *crys*

But i'll defo tune in most of the time / during events.

lol, traffic reports XD

"Hi, im David N, here with the local trafic news. I've just recieved word that Racer1 has caused a massive pile up on Turn1 taking Racer 2, 5, 7 and 12 with him. Apparently the incident was casued by Racer1's ambition to reach 1st by turn1 after starting from 18th in the grid."

I dno if this has been suggested (i've only skimmed over the thread) but i kinda agree with both parties here. I agree that starting from the pits is something irl and works well but i also agree that for the big tracks, no-one wants to damage their car (which can happen) when driving around which can hinder their attempt at a good lap. So why not have an option? When you go and choose your track in hotlapping mode, a selection comes up (like the are you sure you wana exit screen) option for "start from pits" or "LFS start" or something? That way if someone does wana have a rl experience, say around blackwood they can start from the pits, if not, they can start from where LFS starts you know? Just an idea, dont know if this would be hard to impliment but it seems a decent idea to give both parties what they like.

Quote from mkserve :You try using a stickshift with no hands <G>... specially in rally, i normally end up with a tired clutch foot, and a tired right arm (the one used for steering) lol.. Nevertheless, It just doesnt feel right. i can fight the force feedback fine if i need to. But when the wheel decides it wants to lock into a slide.. there's bugger all i can do. The lock into the slide is about twice as strong to me as the normal forces.

RockBigDave, is this the same thing you get too?

In a nutshell yeah, except the tired right arm (left for me, using the shifter on the DFP and left for steering) and tired clutch foot (i need another pedal ) but yeah, i can fight the normal ffb when racing and when i get into a slight slide but when it locks into the slide its like the wheel totaly locks up untill the car stops / hits something.

I get that, its at full lock left say but i wana counter right, its like locked at full left untill the car self rights and crashes inevitably. But i dont know an answer

I dont see anything wrong with 2 stations. I mean, in the uk, you have Heart and Capital FM. Two of the biggest radio stations in the uk. They both play the latest songs, latest trafic reports, competitions, phone ins etc and its up to the listener to choose what they want to listen to. if anything, i usualy flick between many when i do listen to the radio.

Good luck to both of you's. Both should be good.

Drifting with a DFP.

Dont flame me.

Basicly, i cant drift with my DFP. With my old joypad i was ok at it, now i cant cant. Do i need no force feedback? I have sets and stuff, but its mainly the wheel. I'm using 900deg too if that makes any significant difference.

I know learning to race took me a few days when i first got it and over/understeering was a big problem of which i now have under control and it taught me not to start a slide in the first place. Is this a factor?

I only wana know because after a race / when the server emptys, doing laps and not getting a better time bores me, especialy when im on my jack jones and its something that takes basicly no preperation time to do. Also this thread _might_ help out others in the same position as me.

Cheers, Dave.

I'd say +1. If people are stupid enough to stick stuff on all windows, then they arent exactly smart. Maybe have them so they automaticly turn semi-clear, like 50% opacity no matter what. Then that way you can do what you like (like the image in the 1st post) but it's still clear enough see in/out thus not cause any accidents. Or only allow the rear windows to be skinned and still keep them semi-clear.

Maybe not voice chat as such but what about pre-recorded ones? Like how CSS and BF2 have. "Enemy Spotted" "Requesting UAV" etc etc. Maybe have some racing ones (i dno what tho) and they could be programmed to use the number pad so the F keys arent being interfered with?

But as for built in servers for voice like TS and vent, no thanks. Theirs enough lag in some servers while racing a full grid, let alone everyone talking and potentialy lagging it out further.
