nope. NOT MINE. My car runs tyres/rims that are pretty close to flush, but i need to not have guard scrub for weekend events etc, and to keep the police away. I don't have any photos of my car as it currently stands.
black one isn't mine. there is no WAY that thing is within the 100mm legal limit. it was just as an example of a lowered car thats too low for practical use but (IMHO) looks pretty cool
none of those cars seems practical...but IMHO, they still look mint, even the civics look pretty tidy, and i'm not really into FWD's. I wouldn't drive any of them everyday tho.
RE: soarer - a car with overhang that long, i'd be going airbags. If you get a shorter car with less overhang, it isn't an issue. Mines JUST inside the 100mm legal limit, but being short wheelbase, speedhumps aren't an issue with scraping etc.
probably the huge cost of playing a game where it's extremely hard to find an online race, and when you do you don't own the content. I'd rather spend the money on a real car and small weekend driving events.
iRacing is good, but it isn't good enough for what they charge. The way it's setup now, i can't see anyone except the richest who can afford the best controller/simcockpit + cars doing anygood at it.
The reason the engine shuts off automatically AFAIK is to minimize physics calculations if you are online and your car is idling away in the pits. Don't quote me on that tho.
I now realize why pushrod engines are SOOOO much easier to work on. I'd have the new HG in by now....as it is i'm only about halfway there (first attempt at ANYTHING this major on an engine)
It better run a whole lot nicer when i'm done with it, that's IF i don't **** the static timing taking the cams/distributor out etc etc
kewl wonder if they've got boost modelled yet o_O All this fancy lookin gfx does nothing for me.. Show us videos of the engine simulation or tyre modelling or something...ya know related to a racing sim
hahaha i've been playing bfbc2 lately too. i can relate to the whole getting your ass handed to you bit aswell
And yeah gt5 is looking mighty tempting..
lol welcome to the real world, how the hell else do you think jobs like this get done? It still takes people with a higher than normal risk thermometer to do certain jobs. (underground mining, working at heights, high voltage work etc)
wow they've really kicked up the realism on the character side of things if they're including transvestites now! Will this likely be an option on the player creation screen? Male/Female/Shemalefiesta etc :P
How are the fanatecs nicer? they have crap clamps, pedals that look like they'd fall apart in a light breeze etc etc. I did look at getting one a while ago and all i could find was people bitching about how theirs had broken and so on...
if they are just trash rims then yeah find some off another car for cheap, just make sure you test fit them and make sure there is enough clearance for everything. Maybe even look at buying some steel rims. Perhaps talk to your local tyre shop, they might have a spare set of steel rims they'll throw in with a full set of new tyres.
A lot of companies will drill to your specification if you order new rims. But it depends what you're planning on spending, do you just want to snag some cheap alloys off another car, or going the whole hog on lightweight race rims, or after some expensive but heavy "bling" kinda rims?
Also, don't forget about offset, it's very important to how the car will look. Try to find out what other people with aftermarket rims are running size and offset wise, and see if you like how their fitament looks. Also MAKE SURE THEY CLEAR THE CALIPERS!
It's well worth getting it all right, the finished result will make you smile every time you see your car.
http://kgm.tiwing.com/calcs/offsetcalc.htm << might be useful, but i'd still rather ask people who have changed their rims as to whether they are happy with them etc etc.
