most of them aren't. I've seen a lot of the build threads for them, mostly 10inch, 11inch rims etc (on civics AND skylines etc) so i really doubt they are using spacers.....
http://www.stancenation.com/ first car off the rank - Golf with 9.5inch wide rims. I guarantee he doesn't have spacers, just wide rims and NUTS offset.
Most people that can afford such expensive rims (BBS, Volk, Work, Schmidt etc) wouldn't bother with spacers. Thats a poor mans trick :P Those rims are damned expensive, probably worth more than that old civic!
I can't believe this hasn't been said
Test Drive Unlimited. Most fun you can have with your mates blasting thru tunnels in supercars Not the most realistic, but still worth a play.
I'd agree with NFS Porsche unleashed/porsche 2000. Definately one of my favourite from that series. I'd also say Forza 3 (they were all pretty good, but go for the latest one)
And Gran Turismo 4 or 5 when it comes out.
John - try reading some of the detailed physics explanation threads around the place, for a truly mind melting experience! The knowledge level of some of the people who come here is amazing, i'm afraid most of the time i need it "dumbed down" to a level i can understand :P
MX5 is also good. But i'm pretty biased toward the mk1 MR2. However, it MUST be handled with respect. It's not the kinda car you want to scrimp on tyres etc on either!
PnkbstrB heartbeat failures. I've tried all the stuff on the pnkbstr website. Google it up, it's quite a common (and seemingly unfixable) problem with this software.
hmm TDU2 or NFS hp2010.....i'm still pissed at EA for using punkbuster in BFBC2 (which is STILL giving me drama's meaning i can't play online for more than 30 seconds)
Would like to see more video of what the game plays like, how they've done the physics etc. Shift was VERY average imho (at least the PC version) I don't like upgrading cars and then finding they feel like the clutch is slipping, even with the best clutch available.
the problem i find with the RAC, is that it doesn't turn in well under braking (weight transfer to front) and is difficult to control on corner exit with throttle. I've tried to be damn gentle on exit, or even hold it in a slide, but it's bloody hard! The window for being able to drive the car fast is tiny compared to most cars, but it's still fun to try drive a fast time in it, as it is possible, and when you get it right, it's scaryfast. But i still prefer the LX6/LX4
So has anyone bought this? I tried to find it for PC at the local shops, but could only find 360/PS3 copies, so i want an opinion if possible, is it worth finding a copy of this?
Always be aware big vehicles have big blindspots. We had a ute almost get destroyed by a LHD (bogger/ug loader) when it tried to get past, it hadn't gotten positive commucation from the loader op, loader op didn't see the ute, articulated and pinned the ute to the wall. Loader op didn't even notice hitting the ute a couple times, he only noticed when the occupants of the ute shone their lamps on the roof.
Don't ever assume on a road that a truck can see you. Don't cut trucks off (pull in front, not leaving the truck braking room. They need LOTS)
I'm sure anyone who has driven a medium to large sized truck, or any other vehicle would agree.
