Toyota 4A twincam. Just cos you can thrash the begeezus out of them everyday, and generally all they require is fresh oil + filters. (lambo/ferrari type engines are hi-performance, but the servicing UGH)
Try Racing AI set to Pro and then tell me it's "stupid" The main issues i can see with AI is Detection of other cars is a bit off.. that and they can't restart engines etc
as long as all his settings are the same degrees AS THE CAR HE IS DRIVING (all the cars have different amounts of wheel rotation, so he needs to check that all the degree settings are the same as the current car) The real life + virtual wheel will only be at 1:1 (ie match correctly) if this is the case. It's annoying because you have to keep changing the settings if you are switching cars (if you're really THAT choosy about it lining up)
ditto, right red button on the wheel, left is for PTT on Teamspeak.
the alternative to using a button/key for handbrake, is get an old joystick, and sit it down next to you. Didn't suit me personally but i can see why some people like it.
to be fair mine has red ringed once a year every year since i bought it, but i now haven't touched it in 9-12 months, so i couldn't tell you if it's going for a third (last time they replaced ALL the internals with later gen stuff, runs substantially cooler now..)
so you can turn the data logging on or off? maybe sometimes you don't want to be data logging? Maybe the unit needs a reset? never used a data logger, but it makes sense to me to have a switch for it..
depends really, being as i won't be able to use my G25 with it, it's gonna be hard to tell the "feel" of the car with a controller. Also haven't seen much of a detailed explanation as to specific physics changes etc..
i'll probably buy it...even tho i don't have a wheel for the 360. I enjoy being able to customize the tuning of my car in FM2, wouldn't mind having a test play first tho, forza2 was a bit short on older japanese cars (which i like)
i doubt the physics will be any great improvement tbh..
oh and the way the americans say "FORTZA" shits me off lol. there's no T dammit..
transmission damage isn't yet implemented (VERSION Z STABLE, OR PATCH TEST Z15), clutch overheating only (ie overheat the clutch, and it slips)
so you can't damage it, yet.
AFAIK, engine damage can only be achieved by downshifting too early (Exceeding redline) or on downhills/being shunted by a faster car (Exceeding redline)
Hope this answers your question
If thats an MS FFB2, it's hardly crappy. I regret giving mine away (had a dead cord, cousin took it and fixed it)
They are still bang for buck the best FFB stick (that actually has all the features you want for playing simulators) I just got an x52, and its a good stick......but tbh i'd still rather my FFB2 for flight sims
Only one i have atm is DCS: Black Shark, but i wouldn't mind find a good ww2 (ALA janes ww2 fighters ~1998 i think, or Pacific air war 1942 ~1994)
Black shark is pretty challenging, but sometimes i'm not in the mood for all the switches etc, i just want to dogfight
depends where you are, i work on minesites, and i've tended to find a lot of the blue collar workers to be pretty predjudiced (not all, just some)
these are guys i work with, but there does seem to be an "undercurrent" of racial tension in australia sometimes...
Every race has good/bad people, and i'm cool with anyone who is a decent human being
Maybe it's just me, i don't really like people bundling an entire race together (tbh i think white people, of which i am one, have a LOT to answer for) and that seems to happen a lot in the "worker classes" i've had interactions with.
My 20c for whatever it's worth as a long time user. (2001 or 2002, i can't even remember)
I agree with a lot of what is being said up above here, regarding seeing only small patches, possibly meaning a larger patch is waiting in the wings.
The Scirocco delay - don't really care, i know it probably won't be my favourite car, but if it has helped get some bugs out of the physics engine, all good, it's helped the advancement of the game.
The VW "conspiracy" - Get over it. There isn't one. I honestly believe if VW was trying to "control" the devs, the devs would probably say thanks but no thanks. They MIGHT be helping with technical data, but as for giving it a GO/NO GO, i can't see that happening.
LFS, in my mind at least, has always been about the quality of the experience, the devs don't usually release half assed patches (like some big game companies, some of the latest console ports to PC make me want to rage. And i'm still expected to pay $90AUD for a faulty game? kiss my ass) So waiting, no matter how long, is worth it, even if i don't play for a while, i know i'll come back, because the next big release will improve the game to the next level.
This is just my uneducated feelings on it, from what i've seen on the forums, my own experience with LFS, and my belief that the devs, altho a bit secret squirrel at times, know what they're doing.
sounds like what i'd suspected, altho people saying that LFS is overly "understeery" i'm completely stumped about, it always felt pretty realistic for me, altho FXR's running 2 locked diffs and being the quickest setup, was messing with my head (surely clutchpacks would improve the handling/turn in/steering?!?!)
