But Brundle still managed to give Schumacher a tough time in 1992, and he still got some good results in his career while driving mostly crap cars, so I wouldn't give Brundle as big an emphasis as Panis and Massa (a very good point is the fact that Brundle never won a race)...maybe Barrichello after Imola 1994, after some opinions I've read on other forums, as he was hyped by Brazil and Portugal as the future Senna when he got into Jordan for 1993 (but haven't found much stuff that proved his talent before his crash).
This. I can count at least Panis and Massa who had more competitive futures ahead of them before they had an accident that badly affected their performance and their careers.
It's like the new meaning of "death" in Formula 1 (at least for me, and before I put on the flame coat, this is just a metaphor!!)
F1 always had a bit of a gentleman-ish thing to it, the problem is that the gentlemen in question can't be able to put a private team of their own together anymore (not like they used to back in the 50's-70's).
I guess that's why for example at the SuperGT Blackwood race, the FXR had to use R3's in the front and R2's at the back. I guess traction plays a part on tyre wear as well, since both cars are AWD and all.
I've decided on my choices for "Series Event of the Year" and "Commentator Line of the Year"...amazing stuff from you lot!
(by the way Chris, I can do voice-overs for the hard names if you want some help with them)
The last thing I wanted to do is embarass the Kings bros and LLM even further, but what had to be said had to be said. I can only hope they take this rant as a wake-up call. Sorry guys
+1. Ray wasn't really there to keep track of the race, otherwise he would've kept his mouth shut.
It's a pity, because during race day no one screwed things up. We took every opportunity we had in front of us: Dennis helping us out, the good luck we had on the qualifying heat, and most of all, finishing the main race on the Top 10. No one screwed up: Dennis put it in the top 10, I kept it in the track for the rest of the race, and Nathan spotted for us while we drove. Everyone did brilliantly without making any major mistakes (even the GT500 team made it to the finish, and Stankus didn't even rage at anyone). That's right, for at least once, LLM DIDN'T **** THINGS UP!!!
That was the best race I have ever been part of as a member of LLM.
And all it takes is for the team leader, who didn't accompany our race to make some witty remark about a couple of incidents Dennis got into (one of them wasn't even his fault) to overshadow and put to waste all the good work we've done for the race.
God damn it Ray. You say stuff like that and then keep wondering why people are always slagging us off!
I'm ranting on the forums because quite frankly, I'm getting sick of stuff like this always holding us back; I've been working really really hard to help this team get off the shitpit that it is in right now, and having these efforts killed by some stupid remarks and other bad antics that happened in the past really feels like a kick in the nuts.
Don't think that this is all bad stuff, I've had fun racing and gaming and doing stuff for LLM and made some good friends, you're a pretty cool dude when you want to be (and it's still good fun fooling around on FPS games), but if you don't take things a bit more seriously when it comes to races like this, then I'm taking the tag off.
Sorry everyone, shouldn't really be posting this here but enough is enough.
Can't the colouring just be limited to some parts of the car?
Last season it was a mess, completely repainting every different LLM car.
My suggestion is this: same skin for every team car, same team colours, only different colours on mirrors/bumpers/spoiler. Simple and more organised.
well tough luck, because here's what I have to say.
I'm glad I managed to qualify our GT300 entry for the main race, but I wasn't too happy with my race stint, as I was slower in that stint than when practicing, and I'm gutted for not being able to hold 6th place in the end (even if it was a car as fast as SR who got us).
Thanks to Dennis Lind for helping us out in the first half of the race and helping out on some of the setup's flaws, sorry I couldn't hold some of the positions gained.
Anyway, can't wait for the race to go on youtube or be replayed, it was really mad stuff, and no one knows how the hell everyone managed to get away with the maneuvers they were pulling!
