Haha, i obviously didnt know this if i made a topic about it =P

But ill have to give F11 and F12 a try and see what they do.

Also, yes, it wouldnt be worth it in minor racces i guess, but then you could have the option to chose whether you want that window or not.

OR, the window could automatically pop up once you enter the pitlane, and your driving to your pitstop.

Also, i think this has been suggested before, but it would be cool to have assigned pit spaces/garages
Pit stop options

So mabey it would be cool, since when you pit, it takes time, and the more time it takes to repair/refuel, the more time you have to wait till you can get back on the track.

It would be cool if you had a quick option list to see what you wanted changed and what not, and how much fuel you wanted, and when you wanted to stop fueling.

For example, yes in the pit GARAGE it gives you the option to chose when you want your tires changed and fuel, but like lets say your in the middle of a race and you have 2 laps left, and you have 9% fuel left, and you have it set to refuel you at 10%. You could easyly do the next two laps without having to refuel, which sure is only 5 seconds, but it DOES make a difference.

Also, if you have minor damage thats only body damage, and you dont want to get it repaired, it would be nice if you could select to only change tires, or only change fuel, or only change tires and damage, etc.

It would also be cool to be able to change the TYPE of tires you have, in mid race. For example, if your in a long race, and your using hard racing tires, then at the last two laps you pit, and your hard tires are worn down like crazy. It would be nice to be able to put soft racing tires on for those last two laps, now wouldnt it?

Just simple stuff like that, i think would be a great idea.

Anyone else think so?
DFP making a lot of noise
Sketchyrollin564

Ok so ive had my DFP for like three years or so now. Yes, i know that the loud whirring noise it makes is from the resistance created by the gears for force feedback,

but even when i turn FF all the way off, when i turn the wheel its really loud and annoying (and my parents and brother complain). i also noticed, when it was newer, when FF was off, it didnt really make this noise (or atleast not this loud).

So my question, is there any way i can fix this, or anything i can do to the wheel to dampen the noise a tiny bit? The only time i really have time to play LFS is like after 10pm, which just so happens to be the time that my parents set that i cant have any loud noises (music, TV, steering wheel) coming from my room, but id like to be able to play and not be limited to only 90 degrees, because of the noise it makes.

Quote from geeman1 :It's not hard to do. That is not the reason why it was removed. The reason is that Scawen was afraid that most of the servers would then be running the reset-nofix option instead of the full realistic option of not resetting at all. I think that is true. Sometimes you just have to shove people in the right direction, otherwise they will just take the easy way out.
LFS is a realistic simulation, people need to accept that.

I see what your saying, but i still think that serious servers such as the STCC ones will not allow reset at all

Ok, so to the people who quoted back to my little essay on page two, i see what your saying, and yes i can agree with it, and i have now changed my mind about reset on serious races. If its a serious race, then you really cant flip it like that, i agree.

But i still think the old option should be avaliable for Cruise servers, Practice servers, and Mess around servers. Why would it be hard to do? It would make everyone happy.

Also, in a serious race, if you flip, your not f'ed completley. You can still manually flip the car.

I have an idea. You hit the reset button, but it resets you on the grass, where you flipped, in the same direction, BUT theres a 30 second time period holding you back before you go. Why the 30 seconds? Makes it more realistic, as to how in real life you CAN flip the car back over, but it takes time.

Just a thought?

I think old reset should be back, cause now your pretty much F'ed if you flip. You used to be able to just reset, so your car was right side up, but now since resetting fixes all damage, just like single player mode, they have dissabled the ability to reset.

So now, if your flipped, and your on the last lap, and your winning, what do you do, just go back to the pits and exit so you can start from lap 1 again? i dont think its a fair thing.

In a cruise server you are F'ed too, because if you spec or pit without driving into the garage first, you get fined and lose your car (which btw takes hours of driving to earn the money for a nice one). Its too much of a pain for the admins to be dealing with that. Sure you could get sombody to flip you back over by ramming you, but what about when you hit a baricade and it sends you flying into the pit wall, or some area outside the track, where you can still drive? Then what?

And cruise servers are NOT a minority. Once all the servers are back, on the right, select the "Conns" button, so it displays servers in order from most populated to least populated, and you will see that the cruise servers are usually in the top 5. Not to mention, there are more than 4 cruise servers.

Also, the thing that where if you drive out of bounds, it specs you instead of setting you back on course... thats also pretty lame. In real life, god doesnt pick you up, put you in the pits, and force you to start back from lap one. Sure, god wont pick you up and set you back on the right course either, but which one do you think is more real?

I didnt want to sound like a whiney b*tch, but thats my 2 cents.

The only thing we should be allowed is perhaps to swap rims (like from different cars of LFS and such), and mabey to REMOVE a spoiler/wing. Aside from that, we have skinning, which is an EXCELLENT system.

This is a good idea, and heres another thing to contribute.

If you have played GT4, you will notice in pit, while rolling to your specific box, you have the option to choose if you want new tires or not, and if you want to refuel or not. You also are able to change the tires on front are rear in mid race. Also, during the middle of refueling, you dont HAVE to let it go full tank, and you can simply tell it to stop fueling whenever you want.

It would be a good idea if they had somthing similar to this in LFS.

So how do you add a racer to your buddy list in LFS world, without going there and manually typing this? Is there a command you can type, while in game, to add them?

Quote from Crashgate3 :I'm not a drifter, and don't really know much about it, but I've picked up a couple of things from these boards - one of which is that you do get 'good' drifting tracks and 'bad' drifting tracks, which makes sense. A 'good' drifting track is one with lots of curves of varying aspect, with many of the curves following straight after one another, so you can combine them into one log controlled skid.

Thats still a race track. That is somthing like a mountain pass, which is just as popular for grip. A better way to ask it would be to ask for more technical tracks, with continuous and tight turns.

How do you use it? Is it acessable through LFS the game itself? Or do you have to log onto lfsworld just to check?

Im getting tired of "drift track" suggestions.
Sketchyrollin564

Seriously, theres too many of them. FIRSTLY, a drift track doesnt even make any sence. Sure, a rally track, or a drag strip, or a race track, or a remote controll car track makes sence.

But a drift track? That doesnt even make sence. Thats like asking for a front wheel drive track, or asking for an orange car track.

You use normal tracks for drifting, and racing. You dont write to your city and ask them if they can make more streets for blue pickup trucks. Why? Because that doesnt make any sence.

"Buddy List"
Sketchyrollin564
S3 licensed
If this already exits, then please dont flame, but simply tell me how to acces/use it.

What would be cool, and is in a lot of other online games, would be like a buddy list. You could add your racer friends to a buddy list, that you could access at the main screen, to see who is online, and where they are.

I know you could go to the meeting room and type /find "name", but its hard to remember everyones S2 names, and it would be easyer if it was just there for you to look and check.

Quote from Hyperactive :Drifting is a useful car control skill and can and is used as a tranining method in real life. Imho, a few drifting lessons would be all good in LFS. Even if LFS is a racing sim it still doesn't mean that drifting is just a side effect.

How does the shifter feel compared to when you just got it, considering you shift really hard? If i had the H pattern shifter, i certainly wouldnt want to slowly shift, during a race.
