Pretty much. Redline pretty much means STAY THE F OUT OF HERE!. You dont always wanna shift exactly 1.5k before redline, but a good time to shift is right after the powerband dies out, but so you can still land back in the powerband.
Youl figure it out more, as you drive the car more.
So how exactly do you know this about him? Stalker?
Anyways, heres what me and the partially immature demo crew (nobodys ever on S1) do for fun.
COPS AND ROBBERS!: A lot of times, in this one specific server that i go in alot, because the people that hang out there are really cool. Well, somtimes we like to mess around a little, so we created a little game; cops and robbers.
Whoever wants to be a cop must paint there car ALL blue, in order to be a cop. Before the game starts, the cops meet at the "station", which is behind the pits.
Whoever wants to be a robber must paint their car ALL green, in order to be recognized as a robber. If you dont paint your car green, and you claim to be in the game, nobody will pay attention to you. Robbers do not meet before the game, but they have a minute to either just drive around, or hide.
Rules: In order to be considered "arrested", your car must be either completley totaled, flipped, or a cop, or team of cops has your car pinned completley still for 5 or more seconds. Or you could just be nice and surrender. Once you are arrested, you join the "dark side", and become a cop. After everyones arrested, the teams switch. So everyone who was ORIGIONALY a cop, is now a robber, and vice versa. Robbers are NOT allowed to pit. Period.
Whats fun is being a cop, and having 3 other cops next to you, chasing down one guy. P.I.T. Manuvers, and road blocks, etc. Its all allowed, and its all fun. You can call for backup, and give your location, etc.
Robbers can always gain a distance from the cops, and turn around and head the other way, but that takes a lot of skill, and timing. Robbers can also work as a team, to loose the cops. Example: One cop chasing a group of 3 robbers. One robber just stops, the other one slows down drasticly, then turns around, and the other one stops, and waits for the cop to turn around, and then take off in the same direction.
Anyways, i think i explained a little too much, but if you play with the right people, well... as stupid as it sounds, its actualy really fun.
Well, as you all know, even tho im not much of a drifting fanboy, i tend to be in the Worx Drift Server 2 alot, because theres a lot of cool people that i meet, that are always there. I also tend to piss people off with my "GRP>DRFT" (grip better than drift) liscence plate, but i changed it to OMGHI2U
Also, incase your wondering why im constantly in demo, if i have S1. All the action is in demo, and S2. S1 is always dead, exept for STCC.
Dude, i feel really bad for you. I completley LOVE dogs, and animals in general. I have a soft spot for animals, so i know how you feel (but havnt had the experience yet).
Ill litearly give a minute of my life in silence for your dog.
30 minutes long is a little too much. Also, the time it takes is not a good measurement, because theres different cars. The go karts have the advantage at corners, while the race cars really have the advantage at straights.
Mabey ike, 10 miles? Nurburgring is almost 13, and thats a circuit track.
10 miles is reasonable, so its not too boring. A touge, or mountain pass track would be perfect.
Try to understand a manual transmission as early aged as possible. Like sombody said, the sooner, the better. You have more control over your car, as to when to shift, and when not to. You can also take advantage of the clutch feature (unelss thats in auto? ive never tryed it).
Heres one thing to know, you dont ALWAYS get the best acceleration when you shift at redline, or as high rpm as possible.
You want to shift, right after the powerband dies out (usualy before redlline), so that when you get into next gear, you can still land in the powerband. On some cars, you dont notice the difference, but with the XRG (the non turbo rear wheeld rive car in Demo), you notice it at the backstraight on the Backwood track.
Good luck. Ive never liked the auto, especialy for racing. Sure, in real life, if its a daily driver, and your not an auto enthusiast, and you just use your car to get from A to B, then its different. But usualy, real enthusiasts tend to like manual better, because its more fun, and you have a LOT more control over the car.
I actualy saw a true, right hand drive mini (the old ones, like those), restored and everything, on the way to school on friday. I live in the united states, and cars are left hand drive, and those mini's were never avaliable here, so thats a pretty rare sight.
Also, i counted 10 mini coopers (the new ones) today. Must have been a meet or somthing.
When im using in car view (i drive on left seat), and i look behind, all i see is the back of my chair. I dont know if thats the problem you guys are adressing, but yeah. Its very annoying for the people that want to be USDM Tyte, yo!
Im not saying that anyone in the U.S. who drifts, is just some ricer who saw Tokyo Drift, and wanted to be "cool". Sure, theres plenty of true enthusiasts, but theres also the same thing that happens after every FnF movie. Ricers take over the streets for about a yera
Btw, today i saw the best rice rocket.
Red mitsubishi eclipse, with primer body kit, that looked RETARDED, and didnt even flow with the lines of the car. The best part was the wing. First of all, the wing was on a front wheel drive car. That alone is funny enough. Secondly, You know those two tower things that hold the wing up? so it looks like this:

l l The idiot put it on wrong, and it hung like this
I have to have my pedals combined, because when i have them to separate, When i hit the gas, The green accelerator bar is up. When i let off the gas, the green accelerator bar is halfway up, and when i hit the brakes, the green accelrator bar is BARLEY visable.
I wish i coudl be able to have them ACTUALY sperate, so if i wanted to i could hit the gas and the brake at the same time, but for now im using "combined" which has it, so when i hit the gas, the gas goes up, when i hit the brakes, the brakes go off, and when i dont touch anything, the bars are gone.
Thanks, shes part Pitbull, and part Lab, and shes the sweetest dog. Thats not her hair though, its just a blue headband that my dad put on her for the heck of it.
