another question, since i looked at the website and couldnt really find anything.

Is there gunna be older cars? yes, i know there are the classic muscle cars, but what about z32's and some legendary cars from the 90's?

I cant wait till the game comes out in the U.S. so i can buy it. looks like a fun game to just relax to.

Four questions i have. yeah, theres a bunch of pages, but i didnt want to read every single post of every page. I read the first page, read this page, i took part in some of the pages, but so far i ahvnt seen the answers to these.

1.) Look at this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj7u8rxHVa8 . Notice the maximum the wheel turns is like 20 degrees. Is it always like this? is this just a stupid thing that the designers of game skipped?

2.) is there any online mode for the game? Servers/rooms you can go to? stuff like that?

3.) is there damage modeling? i know it wont be realistic, but is some of it atleast there?

4.) Is there nightime? Is it gunna be like LFS land, where its always daylight, and it never changes?

To the people who decide not to yell at me and actualy answer what they know, thank you.

Quote from Davo :Race cars don't have sun visors, instead they have windscreen banners.

right, and if your around 5'8 or taller (im 5'11), you will notice that driving with sun visors (unless its that bright) are a pain in the arse, and just get in the way of your field of vision

So because the track isnt as high up in your vision as a sky, the banner makes sence?

Sure doesnt make sence at all to me. Sure, if your on a flat track, then the banner isnt too bad, because the only thing its blocking is just the sky, but on hilly tracks, or hilly sections of the tracks, you really want to be able to see as much as possible.

I guess im the only one who hates those big stickers on the top of the windshiled? I think they look stupid, and just make it harder to see out of the window. Why they are on real race cars? i have no clue. You would think that in a race car, youd want the most vision possible?

Mabey an option to be able to choose banners between 3 sizes. Off, thin (what we have now), and thick (what you suggested). That would be cool!

You guys make me want this game.

So is it really true about the game running really slow, and laggy on computers? Or is this for just the people with really weak, spywear infected, computeres from 1998?

JU GUYZ IZ ST00PID!!!

NEONZ SAVE WEIGHT! You know why? the neons get rid of the shadow. The shadow adds more weight to the car, therefor, the neons is a great form of weight reduction.

Also, people with non-painted carbon fiber hoods are retarded. That does NOT save weight, and simply ADDS more weight. Why? Raw carbon fiber is pretty black. Black absorbs the most sunlight, and sunlight = weight. Why put a black hood on your car just to add weight? pretty silly, right?

If you really wanna save weight, paint your CF white, since that does not really absorb any sunlight at all. And if your REALLY serious about loosing weight, then a chromed mirror hood, may be for you!

Anyways, those were my tips of the day.
Tune in for next week!

Quote from 96 GTS :Most racing cars have you pull back the shifter to upshift and push forward to downshift. This makes sense to me as you're working with the G-forces instead of against them. That being said, the standard for street cars, and I believe it actually is an ISO standard, is forward for upshift and backward for downshift, and all street cars I've driven with a sequential option are like that, save for BMW and Mazda, which both have theirs going the "correct" way.
(I'm a valet at a fairly nice hotel, so I drive lots and lots of cars.) BTW, the 300C, at least all the ones I've ever seen, are right for upshift and left for downshift...

The subaru automatics have there sequentials the correct way too.

Quote from 96 GTS :Well, I have TDU for the XBOX 360, and I have to say I love it. The physics aren't the best, but the concept is great, and it's pretty well executed I think, at least on the XBOX. I obviously don't get any framerate drops or have any issues with the uninstallers like the PC version would have, I just pop the disc in and play.

Now, I just reached Champion level and unlocked the hardcore physics, and I have to say it made a WORLD of difference. The cars now behave 1000000 times more realistically. They feel like they have mass, there's body roll, you can actually lock the brakes, the cars understeer but are controllable with the throttle, it's just way better. A large, heavy car like the Chrysler 300C SRT-8 understeers a lot and feels very heavy, because it is. Something like the Noble M400 is absolutely a joy to drive and very very neutral. The cars now feel much more unique with the hardcore mode on.

Also with hardcore mode, you get a display that actually shows lateral and longitudinal grip for each tire, steering angle, the weight on each tire, suspension deflection, and lateral and longitudinal acceleration. Basically showing that there is actually physics behind the game now. I'm playing it on the XBOX using a controller, so there's still some steering help, but that's completely gone when using a wheel. The car is just far more predictable when in hardcore mode. I think it makes the game at least a thousand times better.

Is this "hardcore mode" avaliable for PC?

Do you have to save any papers for the warrenty to work? I inherited my DFP from my uncle as a birthday gift (as well as GT4), because i used it WAY more than he ever did. This was about two years ago, and my shifter now feels very cheap. Its no problem, as i made a custom paper towel shift boot, but it was nicer before.

Me three! I feel bad for the S1'ers, so i somtimes go into S1 to see if therse anything other than STCC with people in it. Usualy the answer is no, so i either go back to S2, or decide to hang out with my old demo buddies.

http://www.kcchevy.org/EBayUti ... arPix/10734/paddle1.2.jpg (some are only for upshifting like this, but ehhh its a Corvette of course)

Actualy, its a different type of paddle. There are two padelds on each side of the wheel. The top half of both left and right are used to upshift, and the bottom half is used to downshift. This doesnt feel natural to me at all, but its how they designed it.

Ive sat inside a few cars in the auto show with paddle shifters like this, and it was top up, bottom down.

The new Mazda RX8 is like this.

What the real shame is, is that true manual transmissions are starting to fade away. I imagine by the time i have kids that are old enough to drive (im only 15 now), there wont be such thing as a manual transmission anymore. Its sad, really.

The only real way you can get a car 2003 and up in a stick, is if you buy it new, and choose it as an option. Mabey with a car like a G35 (or skyline, for some of you), or a 350z, or EVO or STI, you can find plenty of used ones in stick, but other than that, unless you wanna go for a really expensive sports car, youl probably have really bad luck finding a newer used car in stick. Most freaking M3's that i see are automatics.

I always have friends that when they get a new car, i see its an automatic, and i give them shit about it not being a stick. Then they always come up with the bullshit excuse "oh but it has tiptronic (sequential)". I just want to slap them.

I seriously dont think they get that tiptronic is not the same as a true gated manual, with a clutch, and no torque converter, or any of that new electronic bullshit. *Sigh...*

Quote from SamH :

So basically, I'm afraid to say I don't think you were entirely right. Sorry

Its cool, as long as i leanred from any mistakes, i can improve. But also, was the other short tempered racer entirley right? He was expecting me to go off of my line, and do whatever it takes to let him pass. If i was last in a race, i would have no problem doing this, as i have nothing to loose, but if thats not the case, its wrong for him to loose temper like that.

Also the way he said it wasnt like he wanted me to simply ease off the accelerator a tad, but it seemed like he wanted me to brake hard, so he can feel like he was that much faster than me. Also, his temper and the way he acted over a simple mistake in a video game did not make me want to be patient and nice to him either.

Quote from danowat :Nope, first thing I do in ANY sim is turn the music off, just destracts me from the job at hand.

If you are TRUELY concentrating, you wouldnt hear the music anyway, I remember one day riding 60 miles on my bike, down some twisty roads, when I got there I stopped and said to myself, music?, where is that coming from, then I realised I put my MP3 player on before I left, but I was concentrating so much I never heard it for the whole journey LOL.

Dan,

Ive been playing drums for 3 years, and im a musician as well, and i really apreciate music. If you want to even bother saying that drums are not an instrument, then you are simply completley ignorant. Anybody who thinks drumming is just mindless banging without any dynamics is a complete fool.

My views are a bit different however. Somtimes in a race, i may have music on, that may make me want to go fast, and somtimes, i like to have just the engine. I am diagnosed with A.D.D, and somtimes the music helps me concentrate, and at other times it is a distraction, so it all depends.

Music that i would jam out to in real life, and is a really good song to get into, has always helped my racing, so i just created a playlist on itunes for racing, which i leave on in the background, and now, most of the times i listen to music, since i love it so much.

Despite me somtimes listening to it in a race, i ALWAYS have it on when im cruising around in the Carribean Cruise servers, since your just cruising around, and talking to people, while making money. I usualy pick relaxing songs, that arent as fast paced, that way im not forced to speed.

Since were at the blue flag topic, id like to ask my question.

So im racing, and i get a blue flag, i dont receve the blue flag message till we are inside the turn. At the end of the turn, he is behind me. We are at the middle of the straight (its a long straight, too). I see he is going slightly faster than me,and trying to pass at my right, so i pull over to the left of my track, but i keep my same speed since he was going faster than me out of the turn.

Thats when he starts to throw a tempertantrum and says "DUDE WTF! You had a blue flag, why did you keep going!?!?!?!". Excuse me Mr. Speedy, the blue flag rules are to simply let the racer pass you (and i told him that exactly), and he started saying that im supposed to go out of my way and actualy BRAKE just so he is ahead of me. I told him, no thats not true, your simply supposed to let them pass. If your ahead of them for a long period of time because they cant pass for whatever reason, and its getting twards the end of the race, and you have nothing to loose by braking, then yes, you brake. But in the first situation that i described, who was right, me? or the over-tempered racer?

The community is just the right size for me. I havent really played for too long, but so far ive like what ive seen. Theres plenty of people in S2 and Demo. Sure S1 is dead, but thats because nobody realy has an S1 licence.

What i do like, is some of the really cool people i have met through LFS. Good job devs! Keep it Moo.ving!

Ill let you know one thing. You will get bored with S1 licence and will spend 98% of your time in demo. NOBODY is ever on S1 servers, other than the STCC cup. Thats litearly the only thing ever populated.

I know this because i just recently upgraded from S1 to S2. Its seriously is just worth it to keep playing demo and then just upgrade to S2 from demo.

Just my 2 cents.
