Quote from N I K I :are you trying to be funny or you really don't know

"The six-time grand prix winner" <-- F1 GP Winner, from good old BMW Williams days. (2001 - 2003)

Seems that was a rather bad try then. Of course I know him, but for me he stood and always will stand in the shadow of his brother.

Quote from luathas :I know you guys like a car to look "used", so here's the satnav blank screen with dust and fingerprints added for a little more realism

Really, really nice work and great love to detail! Although I prefer a temperature of 22°C on both sides and the seat heating at stage 1.

Nevertheless, what do you think of displaying the radio mode on the screen, like attached?

Quote from Kalev EST :Gaming?! Game?!?! How dare you?!?! LFS is a serious RACING SIMULATOR!!! [/fanboy]

In principle you're right. But in this case and special server, the fun is not completely obtained from the realistically and well simulated parts, rather than on a certain bug (Or is it a feature???) that can be looked up under the "Red/White Barrier Files" - I see dead cars flying. Many of them.

Quote from feat :That screen is raw?
Anyways, looks damn hot.

You mean the "blur" effect? Well, with a shutter speed of 1 second that's not unusual on moving objects.

Quote from BastianB :lol nice.
did you cut his mug in the pic or do yyou really have a big screen like this

Nothing of that. It's just the combination of a 22" monitor, a 300 mm telephoto and some distance between.

I must say, I bought the G25 the day it came out and have had not a single problem with it yet. No difficulties with its setup and no problems with reliability, so I can recommend it thoroughly.

It only makes some weird noises sometimes, but I guess that's due to the FFB and doesn't affect functionality ... btw., any experiences here with the issue "noise" behind the Porsche wheel?

I recently took a seat on the rear bench of a friend of mine driving the XFG, and this is what came out (not to be taken too seriously).

What about the following idea:

Everybody gets the same defined amount of fuel, like 5 % or so, but every race attendant has to choose another car, so ideally the whole LFS car range is covered.
Then, with the green light, everybody drives as fast as he can with the target to see which car covers the longest distance.

Well, I must admit, this will work once only, because then everybody knows which car is the worst gas guzzler, but after that you could still experiment with different extra weights or intake restrictions in the advantaged cars ...

Hell, was THAT funny! If I remember correctly, i visited the DD server (meow server respectively) Saturday evening and had a great time ... well, maybe 20 minutes only until nothing went anymore, not to mention my computer crashed soon (due to a slight overload maybe?).

Is there a chance of a repeat in this week, and has this server always been that full (40 people)?

Quote from RIP2004 :stuff

Oh boy. If you "can't demand more", what's the purpose of your scientific calculations then? Give the man a chance! And the one day you should move into a house with your wife, your kids and your pets, you'll realize such a step is not a tiny little bit as predictable as you might think.

Btw., this last post clearly shows that we Germans are world champions in whining.

For all those of you that can't see any Silvia and Ectype and Starion bodykits any longer this skin might be a remedy: a completely fictional facelift for the XRT.

I'm sorry I reduced the layers of the file by mistake, so you have to settle with this slightly flashy colour, but I might take colour requests later.

For any future questions about stars and beyond this program could be very useful for you: It's called "Stellarium", for free and open source - I've been using it for some years now and, like LFS, there's one or two updates a year.

Well, if you could fill your fuel tank with a gallon exactly you could do a race like Top Gear did last year which was very amusing and surprising as well. It would even be much more entertaining than with a (nearly) full tank because the races would be way shorter that way.

But I guess that isn't possible this way in LFS because you can only fill the fuel tank %-wise, can't you?

You know you've played too much LFS when you spot a flipped car next to the road, slam the brakes (including handbrake), do a spectacular u-turn and try to help by carefully reversing into it, hoping to turn the car back on wheels so its driver can continue cruising around, disregarding his head has hole-punched the roof.

Quote from sgt.flippy :Okay, this one is lame!

You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to fart.

The music is really loud, so you time your farts with the beat. After
a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop.

As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, and
that's when you remember: you've been listening to your ipod.

Did that actually happen to you? Be honest!

Well, what about Road Rash (Sega Genesis) then? It produced some catchy tunes in its time - whereas you could chase kids of today off due to its terrible nought-point-one-Bit sound.

But summarized to my whole videogame history, I honestly prefer the older soundtracks above the newer ones, composition wise.

The entire Wip3out (1995) soundtrack from producer Cold Storage comes to my mind spontaneously, especially the tracks "Cold Comfort" and "Operatique" as well as parts of the God-might-forgive-me-after-a-certain-recent-discussion-you're-all-aware-of NFS 4 - High Stakes soundtrack, especially "Roll the Dice".

Great driving (and floating) songs!

I think racing games/simulations can be compared to girls/women you sleep with:

Where the modern NFS-style arcade racer is like a one-night-stand with a willing bit.. uhm ... kinky girl that does everything for you in terms of sexual satisfaction - and that's all -, the LFS-style simulation is like the more mature girl you (have to, somebody) sleep with, but you are together with and deeply (<-- not to be misunderstood, that "deeply"! ) love in every other aspect, also if there are some things lacking in bed.

Now it's up to you what to choose!

(Did anybody understand me? I guess no. :tilt
