"chatting is forbidden and results in a drive-through penalty."
Is there any way to inform admins about something? For example will typing "permission to talk" or just "perm" get me penalised? Maybe TS3 will be used?
I'm almost certain it's with the new physics because of this quote:
I don't expect to add any post-processing effects at this release. I need to finish up on the lighting and shadows so I can get to sort out the tyre physics and get that to a releasable state if at all possible. I can't bear the thought of trying to merge the current changes you see in the development version, into the public version. I want to get past that point where there are two branches and I want LFS back on the right track again.
Well speed hack is a serious accusation. Would be helpful if you could back up your claim and if you're right then that would be it, Freshboy couldn't really say anything against you anymore. A simple .mpr would solve this.
I just want to point out that you paid 24 pounds for almost all of the LFS content and then 12 pounds for 1 extra track. Buying S2 --> S3 was your own choice and with this license you will also get all of the content that future LFS may or may not have, there are no promises (though there are clues that extra tracks are being developed). I personally do believe that we will get more content, LFS will not end here.
Remember that you can always ask people for a set. They might not give their very best one if it's private but I'm pretty sure you can always get an average setup from someone . I personally almost always share my sets.
I have faith that this will not be my first and last finished race here. I'll do what I can to participate more often, especially next week because UFR .
Guys I had a wild off topic thought. When the SO update hits us, what do you think will happen to that "secret track" which isn't finished? I'm wondering how will it look after the update? Will it be updated properly or just the basic stuff to support the shadows? I'm interested!
I know it would probably take quite a while to properly do that part of the track but who knows what Eric has been doing, maybe he did update it some time ago for example? Who knows!
This is a complete speculation but I really don't think that Eric has forgotten cars. I think he's just not talking about them and as Flotch mentioned he's just waiting for the new tyre physics (knowing that Eric is developing only on the new tyre physics, there's a quote from him). I believe he's actually been developing new ones from time to time but there was no need to talk about them because he doesn't know when exactly they'll be released.
I feel the need to repeat myself that this is purely a speculation
The track looks awesome! That extra connection in the middle of the track will open more possibilities with open layouts, great!
Though I have the same opinion as many of us - that nearly 180° corner was converted into 2 (probably) 90° ordinary corners. I was wondering why was such a decision made. Maybe it's possible to get the idea from Eric why it was made that way? I do understand that this is Eric's work so he's free to do it however he likes and I respect him for the work he puts in. That would be my only question. Thanks!
It's funny how Jatimc is complaining about the development of LFS but doesn't read Scawen's posts... He has said that he does want to finish the tyre physics and (IIRC) it's possible that the new tyre physics will come out with this graphical update.
Again, this is not a promise that the physics will go out with the patch, it's just that he is doing his best to get it to a releasable state.
