I'd recommend checking your local freecycle area, people are always getting rid of CRTs, and everything on freecycle is...FREE.

Quote from Becky Rose :I used to suffer from this particular brand of vertigo, it's not the height that's scary, but the thought of some irrational decision to jump off. I could barely walk over a bridge incase I threw myself off it, which was completely stupid because I wasn't in any way suicidal.

I'm similar, but mine has to do with train stations. If a train pulls out of the station while I'm walking along the platform, I feel like I'm going to fall onto the tracks.

OT @Tristain, I don't see why Brands is so hard to reproduce, but nobody has ever got it right. I had a version for an old game that was flat out pretty much all the way round, even Druids. Were you on the Indy or GP track?

How do MS Sidewinder wheels compare to, say, a DFP or other Logitechs?
Sell me your wheel/who sells wheels?

My joystick is finally giving up, so I'm in need of a wheel.

Ebay seems to be pretty rubbish value for wheels, so I'm looking either for something new or something second hand (but not from eBay, which is where you come in).

I don't want to spend much more than £40, so I'm not looking for the best ever.

Does anyone here have a wheel they are looking to offload? Anyone know of any shops that sell wheels, I have no idea where to look.

I will agree that spiders can bite. I was once bitten by one that had hidden in my sock, ****ing hurt.

My irrational fear is of mummies, irrational because I know they can't come alive and chase after me screaming. But they still terrify me, I can't watch programmes about ancient Egypt because of it.

The engine note in some cars is fine, but the FXO and FXR are horrid! But the main problem isn't the engine noise, what we really need are other noises from the car; like gearboxes and turbos whining, "clunks" when you change gear, suspension bottoming and topping out, backfiring, etc.

I want a car that sounds like it's going to kill you, like the one in the video.

It's something I've seen a lot of people do.

I normally forget the car I'm driving either doesn't have a limiter, or it's turned off. So I burn out of the pits, then wonder why I just got a 30 second penalty

I use LFS to quench my thirst for driving quickly. Especially since I got a speeding ticket, as I've had my license for under 2 years, if I get another one I lose it.

I'll try to make the test, but I can't make any promises.

Quote from Hyperactive :
Do you have chicanes or hairpins on public roads in your country with 60mph speed limit?

Actually, yes we do. Unless posted otherwise, the speed limit in the UK is 60. This means that most of our thin, bumpy, twisty, poorly surfaced country roads use the national (60) limit.

Yep, that's right. I play LFS on one of these.

Oh, and I play with an ancient Logitech joystick! *puts flame suit on*

And I love this awesome pic at the beginning. I wanna see chassis flex like this in LFS!

I don't care about chassis flex, but I'd kill for an 02 in LFS, then I'd be able to drive the nuts off my RL car without worrying about the hefty bill.

It's not the recording industry, it's the sheet music industry. They pay record companies to get the rights to make sheet music, and people putting tabs up on sites destroys their business. I'll bet about 3 people actually bought sheet music last year.

I'd rather see the tab sites stay up, but they've got so big that the sheet music industry has finally had enough. Anyway, there will always be other tab sites to find. Tabcrawler is Ok, and bassmasta for bass.

Tell me when it's happening, and I might be interested in a long distance oval race. Short oval races do nothing for me.

That is one of the most fun driving games I have ever played. If only there was a multiplayer, racing to those checkpoints on those roads would be intense.

Quote from tweaK_05 :I'd tie it to their IP and an E-mail address. Even if both are changeable, there would be a lot of complications, and only a select few wreckers would be able to continue doing what they do best. But with regards to what filur said, I think that'd be the best solution. All we really need is something unique to stick to the players that won't change so they can be/stay banned.

IP addresses are a bad way to ban someone. My IP address changes whenever I connect to the internet, and if I use TOR, it'll be changing even more. What if someone else on my ISP gets banned and I get their IP address, so I can't play until I reconnect.

As most people here know, I own a 1976 BMW 1502, which I'd be more than willing to sell, I don't have time to weld it now I'm off to uni.

Vain, those were the cars I saw. Any news on where the Zafira came ?
What was happening at the Nurburgring on 25-27 August?

I'm not sure who's likely to know this, but I'll give it a go.

From 18-31 August I was on holiday driving around Europe, on the 25th we were meant to be going toward Stuttgart, but I noticed on the map that we could make a very small detour and visit the 'Ring. We parked in one of the car parks and I could instantly tell that there was something going on, the cars were too loud to be public. I went to ask if there was somewhere we could see the track from, and was told that it was the testing day for a race weekend, and we'd have to buy a ticket. Screw that, we went to find some food, and it just so happens that not only does the cafe have a view of the start/finish straight, but it has an outside stand that you can sit in and watch the cars go by. We stayed for about half an hour, then headed off.

It looks like a great circuit, I'm definitely going to head back in future for a longer look (and a drive round). It's very unnerving to be on a public road, and see cars fly past at 150+mph on the other side of a hedge.

The cars seemed to be a complete mixture. From old and new Porsches and tuned up BMWs and Mercs to Jap cars like NSXs and S2000s, there was even a Vauxhall (Opel) Zafira going round! Couldn't tell if they were on the large or small circuit, I'm afraid.

Quote from nutty boy :Is that law in England?

Yes. AFAIK, speedometers are allowed to over-read by up to 10%, but any under-reading is illegal. Because of this, manufacturers design them to over-read by about 5%, knowing they have a large tolerance either way, this means they throw away less units and make more profit.

-1, I'd never use it. I don't want to go up North in real life, so I don't want to go up North in a game

Just kidding, more tracks (provided they are up to the usual standard) = more fun.
