Do you mean m/s when you're driving? Why would you want that? Personally, I think the m/s in the garage should be replaced with whatever measurement the user chooses.

Quote from sinbad :That is great. If only all short films were that good.
I wonder if any countries would allow that to be shown on TV? In the UK adverts like that are considered to "promote speed" and as such are banned.

If they put "professional driver on a closed course, do not attempt" they normally get away with it. Hence all the motorbike ads on Eurosport.

Shouldn't be any laws, just make sure it's unlocked (most contract phones are, if it's pay as you go, then check)

Not from modifying, from necessity.

The exhaust system on my mum's car was replaced with the wrong one (hers had a cat, the new one didn't). Instead of taking the car off the road while we waited, we ran it catless for a while. Flames would come from the pipe, excellent.

Don't do it, kids.

Quote from Crazy Harry :Another problem is that "W" also means Joystick. And that is imho even more difficult as mouse driving.

I was wondering when someone would bring joysticks up. I've always raced with a joystick, and found moving to a wheel made me seriously dislike LFS (I blame not using a good wheel, not the game). Joysticks are nowhere near as hard as mouse, though. At least with a joystick you have analogue acceleration and braking.

I used to average <20 on my old PC.

Since I got my iMac, I've never seen it drop below 60, with everything on max.

Quote from tristancliffe :A perfect example of a driving game that became a screenshot generator.

On the same note, some photographers are here RIGHT NOW taking pictures of our Stratos for Project Gotham Ricing 4. They're merrily taking pictures of anything and everything, but show no interest in driving it (wouldn't let them anyway ) or looking at the greasy bits.

Bloody arcade games... *walks off grumbling*

You should jump in and drive off like a madman. Hearing the noise would make them VERY interested in it.

Quote from Rtsbasic :I would guess the destination country will be responsible for taxes. Like when you import goods from the US into the UK, you have to pay UK VAT & customs fees (if the silly plonker didn't mark it as a gift ), but you don't pay the local sales tax from where you purchased in the US.

Whether they mark it as a gift or not makes no difference. If it's worth over £30, you're supposed to pay tax on it.

If it's a car I'm familiar with, I'll tweak sets that I've already been given. If I see someone doing amazing times, I'll normally ask to try it, but I tend to go back to my own as most of the fast sets are horrible to drive.

For example, I only use around 5 or 6 different FOX sets, and if I REALLY need another one I'll tweak one of the others.

If it's a car I don't know, I'll ask for a set of someone online who's doing quick, consistent laps. If I see someone I recognise online whose sets I normally like I'll ask them first.

Tolerable, but please tell me it's tuned properly, not just had a turbo whacked on. And for the love of God, don't fill it with audio equipment.

Good idea.

/w pb is just about useable, but it would be nicer to have the proper track name in the garage.

Quote from xaotik :Not a coincidence quite a few small aeronautics companies have used it to simulate their prototypes, etc. It apparently does anything that flies, copters included.

I think the Aerospace dept. at our uni uses X-Plane to simulate things they've designed.

Did not know that. Judging from the ¨could be over 14 days¨, I'd say they don't have it in stock.

I'm open to offers, anyway. If someone comes up with a fair price, it's theirs.

I haven't been playing LFS much since I've been at uni, so having a wheel here is pretty pointless.

Because of this, I'm putting it up for sale. It's a Logitech Formula Force EX, I bought it from a user on another forum a couple of months ago, and I only used it a few times. It's in good condition in it's box.

£40 including shipping O.N.O.

I would like a "vote to not restart" in LFS for situations like that, or when people restart a race while the back of the field is still racing.

Quote from tristancliffe :Yarr, Brunel for me. But I've destroyed it now, as someone is using my Final Year Project (on tuning V4 engines) to assist with their own. Which means they'll get a crap mark. Which means the person who looks at theirs will fail. Which means that.... Within 5 years no one will pass, and it'll be my fault for doing a project at the last minute

You bastard!

Bristols are far too overpriced for what they are. Theoretical top speed, eh? I'll call BS on that until I see it.
