not sure about your specs but over this way the uk/jap imports seam to have a different chassis balance
i have a mate with a uk version with the same kind of chassis mods as me, but without the import alloy wishbones and such and his car feels like an understeering barge (he even has the whiteline rear sway bar fitted to dial out rear end grip)
most people i know who have fitted or bought cars with the dccd have removed it or changed cars for one without, as the average bloke on the street ends up a slower driver.
one of the blokes on scoobynet is having a hell of a time on his hillclimb car after swapping to the dccd transmision
not its not, its snappy, edgy and hard to handle on the limit, unless you are a very good driver, "the widow maker" lol remember i have driven one.
they are also very slow
0-60 in 4 seconds for a cheap rwd car??
are you having a laugh?
my own car when stock (bar a panel filter/backbox!!) did 4.5 secs to 60 at croft race circuit. for what its worth i dont think mine is fast until it gets up to around 120 and it comes on boost in 5th, thats where mine seams to really start shifting, it will hit the limiter in 5th gear with next to no effort LOL
i have a few vids of my mate at elvington, drag racing in his MR2 turbo, i should get them out for a laugh
i think i did a few 12.xx sec runs as well but this was about 3/4 years back when i was botherd about "pub talk" lol
civic, nope, never been a fan TBH, cant be bothered with the usual jap scene unless the car has the right mods, and doesn't look like halfords special i have a few mates with 4/500bhp imprezas/evos and although they are nice and such, for genral round the doors stuff, they are shite, laggy beasts that are only good for waiting for boost and then hanging on for dear life
200kgs is not that much IMO, IIRC its the difference between the older imprezas and the new ones?, a increase in boost pressure can overcome that with next to real feeling for the average bloke on the street
if you get S2 you might play, get a bit peaved as you cant handle the GTR cars with the keys or what ever and give up (this excludes alien "[CD]Subon VW" who does crazy times with the keyboard)
if you buy a decent force feedback wheel, you will buy S2 asap afterwards
i would rather the core game was improved with new race modes and such, rather then the devs getting sucked into all the fancy VGA fanboys winging, about how they can not read some minute piece of text on somebody's skin 3 places in front of them on the grid
played it a few times
its pretty good as far as console racers go, but i suspect that useing the gamepad is not the best thing to do, i wont be buying the M$ wheel either, so i`m unsure if i will get the full game
until my hard drive failed, i then reinstalled everything on a new HD and the stutter started right after this.
i think its a small conflict somewhere along the line but trying to trace it is a nightmare, its not as bad as it used to be, but its still interesting when i had none, and with no changes except a complete fresh install of windows/LFS etc etc it "arrived"
