i have just played this, it can be fun, but unless there is a few cops to help ban the idiots, then it just does not work.
i liked telling somebody off for drifting

and the genral lee turned up, which we struggled to catch just like the real thing

i thought the whole point of the cops and robbers server was that you crash into the robbers?

must try it out sometime

i was racing the other night on that server, its quite good fun, complete no brainer, although i had to change my view to an outside one as i was getting a bit headfooked trying to race with the cockpit view :o

step10

As soon as i finished this previous step a big van arrived within 5 mins and dropped of my new seat

step11

Unwrapped

step12

Seat into the office to have a think about a sub frame, the old armrest bases and bolted down onto the runners and the "mount doom flat bar" is placed along the rear end, this is actually going far to easy TBH

step13

Quick welding session to weld the armrest supports in place and added the flat bar to the rear with some sketchy triangle sections welded in place, waited until it cooled a little then covered it in black paint for the "factory" look

step14

Bolt seat to new seat base and wheel outside to inspect

step15

Find lightest member of staff and ask him to "test" the seat otherwise he cant have his dinner use the pawns before the king and all that malarkey

Finished

Well this little project has only taken me around 10 days in total, most of that was waiting for the bloody parts to arrive, but it all came together 2 days back, so here we go

step1

take one knackered old office chair, this was given to me by my dad who "acquired it" about 10 years ago, it came in nice brown tweed covering the old 306 cabriolets used to come with a vinyl covering over the roof while in transit and this stuff was the best "fake" leather i had ever seen, i had a massive amount (i got to keep all the old covers when the cars were PDI`d) so i recovered the seat.

But that's not bling enough, so we will start by ripping off the armrests, one was a little knackered anyway

step2

Easy peasy, simply whip off the base and back rest, these just screwed on

step3

Transport to work so the operation can commence

step4

It was discovered that the base of the armrests had some nifty little bits that i could use to hold the front of the seat down, these were hacked off with a big hacksaw

step5

I Knew i needed some flat metal bar to help make a sub frame, and cunningly i worked out that there was some inside the old arm rests, which was covered in some thick rubber style foam stuff (technical term!!) i tried to cut it off, it was hard work

step6

I figured that me messing about with a Stanley blade was only going to lead to some missing fingers, so the best plan of attack was FIRE!!!! Got some of asdas finest 95ron with a little 2 stroke mixed in (stolen from the minimoto) and started to burn the black crap off i did not get a pic the first time as i used a little to much and we had to put it out ASAP, small controlled fires are better for this kind of work IMO, bit to close to the fence and stuff, but i had a "boy" on stand by with a fire extinguisher remember to ask an adult if you can play with matches.......

step7

While the boy supervised the inferno around the corner, i had another look at the seat base and discovered that the backrest support would unbolt from the base, saving me from cutting it off, so i whipped that off.

step8

Back to the fires of doom to find its nearly finished

step9

Chucked it in the prewash bucket to cool it down, quick clean up and we now have some free flat bar (tight northerner )

Quote from ArosaMike :I've had a spate of people just religiously holding their line like Rosberg did today in the GP. I'm completely along side them into corners like the right hander after the straight at Blackwood and they just won't yield. It's not like I understeer into them or anything....just a textbook overtake and they blame it on me! I also had some idiot the other day who I overtook into the first corner at Blackwood...to be fair I outbraked myself a bit and ran wide and nudged him, but he tried to steer me off the road and when he spun he tried to vote me off saying I'd made him crash when I was accelerating.
.

i do belive i witnessed most of this TBH
i had somebody put a back wheel on the grass and spin out and blame it on me illepall
i actually hit the brakes hard/locked up so i did not smash into him as he span in front of me, letting the person behind me past, cant help wonder if i should have just kept it floored and just sent him into outerspace

also had a good race when somebody told me i was not aloud to overtake on the corners, even though he had run wide and i was clean up the inside past his door, he then turned into me illepall

i started haveing a crap start on purpose so i could cruise down to T1 and watch what happend, and a few people from supposed "teams" were guilty of barrelling down up the inside and bargeing people out the way.

i was getting stressed so i logegd of and have not played it scince

card has been delivered, unfortunately i am away out tonight to the local minimoto track with my bike, so i am not sure if i will get a chance to test the card tonight, do i have to clear all the nvidia stuff from the pc before i switch the cards?

i got no driver disk so i assume i will have to download the drivers, the card is "refurbished"
i am not sure what they do with them but it looks brand new, i can not find any dirt or any kind of "usage" mark on it anywhere, the heat sink and fan look brand new ??!!??

my current office chair was given to me from my dad when i was around 15 (he acquired it from work)

i stripped it down and recovered it in leather, which was fine for a while, until i got frisky with the girl friend and we managed to snap one of the arm rests off

and now it is a bit wonky and broken LOL but the base is fine

so i am not sure about the geeky part and the girls TBH

Quote :Considering the extreme amount of G forces experienced while driving a virtual racing sim... no.

what about if i get one of my employees to stand behind the seat and rock it about while i turn the corners

Quote :Good to your local Skrapy and find a old buggered up 180sx or something like it and take the seat out of it, just as good as any.

daft thing is, i let my standard 97 wrx interior go for £50 to a mate who wanted the 2 front seats for his office chairs, and i never even thought about keeping one as my recovered leather jobbie was all ok

Quote from mrodgers :IMO, pitspotter does NOT eliminate your left/right view. You still need to know where they are, and how they are driving (ie, they are heading into the corner on the inside too hot...). About your passing tactic, you should brake earlier and easier thus giving you more control, take a late turn-in and early throttle. That will blast you past them on the exit . Works great.

that is kinda what i meant, not sure why i wrote what i did

all i know is 9/10 times the perso on the inside comes in to hard and messes up enough to get past

if somebody is blatently faster then me (judgeing on previous races etc etc), i will just let them past nice and easy and try to keep up with them for as long as possible to learn faster lines

not sure how this all fare sin the rand scheme of things as i have not been racing on the s2 servers long (although i had my licence for ages )
but i now use the pitspotter program, instead of using the DFP d button to view, if the pitspotter bloke tells me its clear, i turn in and go for it, if he does not, then i tend to brake later but harder, then while the driver on the inside flys up at a rate just a little to fast, i turn in hard and power past them on the exit

i love doing this

i have also had somebody "steal" my skin

i can remember leading a race at blackwood, and as i enter T1 this car flys out from the pits wearing my skin (that i had made 2.3 nights ago  )
the shock made me overshoot and crash

i asked him to remove it, but never got a reply

in the end i changed it a little, but figured it was free advertisement for my own business (a1plus valeting LOL) and TTS (the tyne tees scoobies club)

as you can see, i think i can kinda prove that the skin really is mine  here is my road car parked outside my work premises
