I don't see the point. It's a work of fiction. Should we burn all the copies of the da vinci code? The church doesn't like it either, so we better all just stop thinking for ourselves and do what they say.

I just started getting into hot lapping, fun stuff. Always a fan of seeing my name with green lights! It's fun to race against everyone, instead of just those who have a decent net connection, have a computer that can handle big starts (which many can't), and happen to be racing on the same server I am.

But at the same time, just you, the car, the track. Don't have to worry about running into someone, just go for broke. Also no distractions, wreckers, chatters, restarters, etc.

Also, taking out hotlapping would'nt really increase the number of racers online.

You'd actually need a good reason to get rid of a very popular mode.

Great race! The turning point for me:

One particular swooping left hander mid way through the track, where Rossi had to square it off, but Stoner could just ride it all the way round. If Stoner didn't take advantage of this, the fighting would have been much closer.

The first corner was nuts, top speed vs. stable brakes, fun stuff.

Yamaha seem to have closed the top speed gap down to Ducati, still a ways to go.

They need to extend the wall, plain and simple. At the point where the STR sits, the wall turns away and instead of lining the track, lines the infield grandstand, which is pointless. It needs to swoop along into the corner so cars can rub it.

Think of the point where Kubica hit the wall, if the wall continued and connected with the next, he would have walked away.

Reports here: gpupdate
tsn

indicate it may be a broken leg or ankle. It looked horrible, the way the car planed and came down onto the wall.

Also this isn't really a spoiler, unless you'd be pleasantly surprised to see a crash like this.

I took Judo for a very short time in my youth, definitely some time well spent. It's saved my stupid drunk ass from getting beat up, at least twice that I remember

Yes, I know the system is due for some work soon. That's why now would be a good time to bring in such a system, before the AI is all done.

Not everyone will see a use for the system of course, because not everyone is interested in designing AI systems. I am, and there is probably more. nfsjunkie91 has the right idea

admission: didn't search :/
User-Implemented AI
sweetreid

Idea: Allow users to define their own AI drivers by script/plugins/some api. The inputs to each driver would be the same, and it would be up to the programmer to make the fastest AI possible. Of course, being fast is not the only thing that matters, it would need to decide when to race with other cars, pit, deal with crazy circumstances.

Why?:
-The result will be at least as good, if not better AI available
-Fun (for nerds like me)
-Education
-24H BATTLE OF THE AI!!!1
-?

Why Not?:
-Opens a door up for cheating?
-No one cares about making bots
-Dev time that could be better spent on racing stuff, for people
-?

Quote from MAGGOT :This would also cause added strain on the master server, wouldn't it? Since all games are routed through the master server, surely all information and data transfer is as well, including voice communication?

No, servers just report to the master server. All communication with the client is independent of this. All games bottlenecked through one server would be mighty slow.

I switched to dvorak full time about 4 years ago. I popped all the keys off of an old logitech and arranged them into dvorak at first. I did this during the middle of 3rd year cs.

I decided to switch EVERYTHING, not use qwerty again for at least 2 weeks. So I had to modify my computers, and the ones I used in the labs etc.(everything is easy with linux ) No problems there. The first day was very hard... after that it got easier much faster. Within 2 weeks I was at a very solid pace. Around 2 months or less and I was at the same pace I had been with qwerty. Speed is not different, but there is definitely less moving around on the keyboard for vowels. And I tent to mix vowels up much less in my typing.

I can still touch type on qwerty if I need to, not as fast as I used to be.

Overall I'm happy with the switch, won't go back.

There is no safety! They are hazards that you need to deal with. Tires aren't used as safety stacks very often in the game, those should be tied down. Ones that are stopping cutting at chicanes are working well.

The ky bumps should have a moat(no water) around them. A depression before the speed bump would ruin the suspension much more. Or maybe just bigger bumps.

Quote from neglouseight : And with the version of CrossOver I was using it wouldn't let me resize the CMX viewer window, if I tried the window goes totally black and I have to restart the CMX viewer.

I get that same behaviour under the linux/wine combo. If you manage to get the window back to the same dimensions that it started, the graphics come back.

The screen button works better for changing resolution.

A healthy dose of McLaren, BMW and Super Aguri have helped me into a tie for first. I shook up the lineup, so I'm expecting some better results next week.

I was saving some cash so I couldn't get the change I wanted before Spain.

Hail Sato!

Alternate solution, setup a networking filesystem on your windows box, something that you can mount from osx. ('man mountftp' or 'man mount_ftp' might give hints). Then, save your skins in osx onto the networked drive, voila, no fiddling with moving files around.

CMX viewer works great in linux (under wine) too

My family used to live in Ireland. But about 150 years ago they found themselves asking 'Where's the potatoes?'. They then moved to Canada, and we've been eating potatoes ever since. The end.
