you'll have to check the output of the PSU, if it is broken the whoohoo you can use just about any logitech FFB PSU,

you say the pedals don't work too tho' hmmm makes me think it's an internal problem with the wheel itself, a broken contact inside

my own rev b pedals are fine, sut my ealier set (momo) have caused a few problems.

I would reccomend spraying some contact cleaner into the pots and giving them a bit of a grease up around the pedal pivots, they do seem to suffer from components that were not designed to be kicked a couple of thousand times an hour,

Oh and fluff seems to like 'em too!

I seem to have the same problem myself but unplugging and re-plugging it (PC booted) seems to do the trick. remember it's a PS2 wheel so it might just be getting confused

I've sucsessfully used two different clutch setups for LFS;

DFP + MOMO(clutch) i simply left my momo plugged in the morning MY DFP arrived and just reasingned the axis

DFP + microsoft i had the same problem as panik but worked out if you simply recalibrate the microsoft pedals without touching the throttle (use the brake as the clutch) and voila you got single pedal operation.

works for me but i do have the 'spare pedal' between the brale and clutch so LFB is a bit of a stretch.
worth every bit of time it takes to get it workin' tho'

I would live to go but can't gaurentee being able to get there but i would like to come down(up?) to see some real racing action.
my personal life is kinda chokka at the mo, but i'll see if i can squeeze that one out of my diary.

Just for the chaps that - like me - may not be able to go, PLEASE get some action on video!

20% of LFS users don't own a FFB wheel, hmm
i've seen loads more keyboard players online than the 2% we got in the poll
KB users are less likeley to participate in community goings on i suppose.

mouse + pedals sound interesting!

How many peeps have a clutch + shifter tho' ( ishould have added that one in the poll) for MAXIMUM realism.

the main problem is most of the while you're either just starting a session (takes me a race or two to warm up properly) or your've just spent the last 10 laps warming your tyres up to a nice sticky temperature, only to start on fully cold tyres again, it's something that you might know consiously but once the race get's underway things like that are temporarily forgotten until the pack sorys itself out.

i'm usually quite content to lose maybee 1-2 places in the first few corners, and often make up many more than that during even a 5 lapper, i suppose when you're a bit new to it all it's quite tempting to lunge forward when everybody else seems to be taking is slow (it';s because they want to finish!)

must stop now, i could rant on forever about buggered starts.

it's been asked before (RSC) but i'm gonna ask again out of my own curiosity.

i'll try it when i get home, is it a race set or a qual set? i've adapted a few qual set's to race spec but tyre wear is always an issue.

I only really noticed when i went drag racing that the fuel load was not related to the setup , it would be nice to have it all incorporated.

an info box would be genius tho', for making little notes on what that particular set is like and stuff like that.

i don't think that's linear tho'

The catapault effect you get when resetting too close to the 'red&white's' is quite fun!

The main difference for me is the change in my driving style that has come about due to my clutch foot fooling me into thinking i'm actually driving something! starts are MUCH nicer with a clutch but banger racing is HARD with a DFP @ clutch!

Quote from spyshagg :how much it costs? ...i cant find it in Europe

edit: oh nevermind.... the wheel does not have sequential gears change :\ only the gear stick....
damn it!

I ghot mine from www.savastore.co.uk for about £70 (shipped) but they might not post it to europe

The next stage has got to be faliures, like over-revving (valve gear damage - lack of power/revs) and brake fade etc, power output could drop a little as temperature increases, and the clutch might fail if you slip it too often, the gearbox could start being difficult to shift of you fluff too many times. And I can't wait to see mirror's being knocked out when you pass too close!

looks like i don't have to worry now! i'm still gonna make a pedal-box contraption to kick the hell out of instead of the plastic ones supplied!

when i got my DFP i started using a clutch and it's turned a fantastic game into an AWESOME one it's much more of a sim for me now, 'cos i'm using tecniques that i learnt years ago driving for real, it's just a case of getting a fairly realistic brake pedal 'cos the use of a clutch pedal seriously encourages the use of heel and toe. (less spare feet!).

I don't really see too many clear cut advantages to running a clutch but there are plenty enough reasons to keep my third pedal in use for some time!

BTW I use the 'spare' pedal as a handbrake, risky but surprisingly usefull!

I 've got that problem but with LOOK FUNCTION, STEER enabled it makes it real easy to tell where you're wheel is pointing, still keep doing it tho'!

it's a constant evolution ATM but i'm using a DFP @ 720 with an old sidewinder pedalset making do for the clutch, (highly recomended, clutch use that is!) although i'm planning to convert a FF joystick for shifter use and build a custom pedal box from car spares! LFS is great for messing about with your controllers so you can get them exactly as you want 'em.

If anybody asked me what wheel to go for id always recomend the DFP. seems logitech are still having pedal life issues tho', hence i'm planning ahead and building my pedals while they still work!
