We should be getting different tyre models (each tyre maker), so why would we be getting different clutch packs, gearboxes etc... it's not always about most powerful is faster.... but I think if it's possible to change parts, it should be possible for the server to limit those parts available, give everyone the same basic package for leagues and only allow slight adjustments to setups....
I didn't mean to take it off-topic, I was agreeing that an Open city would be great, and you could have point-to-point races, Start @ A, Finish @ B, route inbetween is up to you, the only race in real life I watch that does this is Paris-Dakar Rally, even Gumball has a set route......
You need to reinstall the motherboard chipsets and make sure you get the SmartGart driver, this is what will control the AGP acceleration for ATi cards.... when switching from nVidia to ATi I would recommend a format and reinstall of windows as several games will not like this and possibly refuse to boot, crashing to dekstop when they run... Live For Speed not being one of them because it is so well coded!
Shift+S should be not be allowed on circuit racing and possibly long oval races, a simulation, crashes should be avoided as in real races, but for the Oval Junkies/Xsiv server the races are only 8 laps, less than 5 minutes, if you crash, your race is ruined, but if you stay on track, more than likely you will ruin someone elses race... it's only 5 minutes inbetween restarts so Shift+S'ing in these short races should be done for the enjoyment of the majority....
The problem it, often bike games are realistic, which means they aren't as fun as the could, for instance with Tourist Trophey, if you brake into a corner, then dab the accelerator you drift very wide and can't continue turning, this is a bad thing and wouldn't happen....
It's made by Polyphony Digital (Same that make GT4), and it's heavily based on GT4, same circuits (Few taken out, a few added), very similar menu's, same lisence tests, can upgrade riders gear and you win bikes in challenges rather than buy them...
all in all, probably the best motorbike game on a console imo
