Good God, the world is ending! The kid has 3 posts total and you fly off and report him for doing something every member here does every other day (repeat threads)
Give the guy a break. I understand this topic has been beat to death, but reporting him? Seriously?
LFS is really going to need something huge to get me back full time, not that I'm anything special, just sayin'. I still use the auto-x builder (and will until iRacing develops one) but unless we get a massive dynamic track/time/weather update with the new tires, I can't see any way I'll ever race here as much as I did pre-iRacing...
I was in that 2nd split as well. It's amazing how close the racing gets when that many people turn out. Started 21st, made it up to 14th or so, then on lap 83 the sim crashed to the desktop. 2 laps down when I rejoined. Oh well, still a great race!
Yeah, this is a big step for iRacing, especially in getting more people outside the states involved.
All excitement aside, I wonder if people have forgotten that there are only a handful of guys in the world who are qualified to drive this thing competitively, and safely. If the BF1 is any example, the racing in the Williams might...not... be...the best. Here's to hoping.
You need to finish turning at the apex of that downhill @ Lime Rock. Turn in early and hard, and be unwinding the wheel from the apex onward. If the rear end is still loaded over that bump, you're in trouble.
There has definitely been an increase in participation as of late, compared to last season anyway. Way more people in the practice servers at all times.
This is all too common for a first time out. The absolute key, especially until you're out of rookies, is to anticipate bonehead moves like that. If you expect the worst from everyone out there at all times, you can avoid most of it by sacrificing a little pace here and there. The second you start counting on people to do what they're supposed to do, you're in trouble. Voice chat is key as well, a simple "going left" over the mic can save a lot of trouble.
Rookies and D are, rather unfortunately, about survival. Sacrifice a little pace, and worry more about those around you than yourself. Once you're up in B, A or pro the racing and racecraft is leaps and bounds ahead of anything other sim imo.
Putting the center line of the car past the rumble strips will get you a 1x. I've put two wheels over the strips plenty of times without any incidents. Uphill at Lime Rock is a great example. 2 wheels in the dirt and you're fine, center line in the dirt and you've got a 1x.
Of course, if you even think of going anywhere near some of those curbs in a few of the cars, a 1x will be the least of your worries. That being said, I'm excited to see the new tire model applied to all the old cars, hopefully that will help the Radical, etc...
