I'll be the first to admit you're 100% correct, but even if 99% of the world is completely incapable of an intelligent response, that still leaves like 66 million people that might have something interesting to say...
Because I'm a human being before I'm an American, and living in the states only allows me a certain amount of access to the thought processes and ideals of those who live elsewhere...
If you go back and read my first post, my intention was not to start another political debate (although given the topic I suppose it was inevitable), I merely wanted to get some feedback from people living outside the states about how they view us and why.
So, my question still stands: How do you feel about the US and our current state of affairs and why?
I'm not going to go looking for links to all the examples, but on numerous occasions Bush has said specifically that God talks to him and wanted him to be president! I'm sure there are some folks here that will back that up...
I haven't seen any specific mods like that, but about a year ago on Conedodgers we (i say we but i have no affiliation with said server or team) had a trustworthy person act as a pace car and it was an absolute blast to have a running start!
I am of the opinion that the majority of religious fanatics who seek to destroy Western culture (and can produce the means to do so) perished on 9/11 along with 3,000 of our countrymen, and that's the main difference. I have never felt afraid of another 9/11 nor have I ever felt any level of comfort as a result of our country's actions after the fact.
If the USA wants to wage war against religious fanatics and terrorists, so be it, but the war will continue on ad infinitum due to the fact that terrorism will as well. You can't have good without evil, for there would be no way to define good without it's polar opposite. You can't break a stick in half because you only want the left side. A new right side will always emerge with every break.
Exactly! We didn't wage war in Iraq to eliminate the threat of terrorism, and everyone in the current administration knows that that would be an impossibility, we did it to establish our dominance in the region and help create additional allies that will in turn help further the agenda of a few high-ranking officials that have been waiting their turn for years.
Edit: As much fun as this discussion is (no sarcasm, really, I always enjoy hearing other people's thoughts on the matter, especially when they are as well spoken as you good sir), my reason for posting this thread was just to find out what people in other countries think about the US and it's current policies concerning foreign relations, and why. So far, only Becky and a few others have directly answered my question.

Agreed, but anyone and everyone with a decent head on their shoulders should be able to make educated decisions based on what they read there, and not automatically take everything posted on Wiki as cold hard facts. I linked it just to give folks a taste of what it was about.
Yet.
They may not be preaching fascism from the rooftops, but you can't ignore the similarities... Combining of corporate and government powers, rampant nationalsim, using religion and fear to sway public opinion, etc...
Again, yet. It isn't about Iraqi money or oil at this point, it is about having a foothold in that region when peak oil begins to sink in as a reality.
Posing a legitimate question in one or two short paragraphs is anything but "going to lengths," and I clearly didn't pin anything on Bush directly, in fact my reply to Becky should have made it perfectly clear that Bush is the least of my concerns right now. Is he part of an administration who's actions I tend to disagree with? Yes. Do I blame him for everything wrong in the world? Certainly not, and I can't for the life of me figure out where you got the idea that I was doing so, unless of course you were relying on some preconceived notion that anyone who opposes U.S. foreign policy is a bleeding-heart liberal.
Thanks for your input anyway though, as that is all I was asking for.
It seems to me that while Bush himself may be devoutly Christian, the ones really running the show over here (Rumsfeld, Cheney, etc.) are just using him as a means to connect with the religious sect of America, which evidently has worked quite well.
As I was trying to fall asleep last night I realized that this forum would be a great way to reach out and talk to some fine folks that I would otherwise never have the chance to converse with...
So, this question is mainly directed at those living outside the United States:
Quite simply, does the rest of the world realize what Bush and his neo-conservative cronies have been trying to do? By that I mean, many Americans still believe the war in Iraq was/is about fighting terrorism. It's not. Many others simply believe it was about oil, and while you can't discount the fact that it is quite clear they (I'll avoid using "we" when referring to the Bush Administration as I don't agree with anything they've done in the last eight years) are going after Persian Gulf oil, the question remains why, and what's the big picture? Articles like the Wolfowitz Doctrine,
and its implementation after September 11th point directly at the fact that this administration is hell bent on establishing a new Imperialist American empire. Hard to believe for many Americans but virtually undeniable when you look at the facts. Is this the majority view outside of the states? Have Americans been kept in the dark so long by our own administration that they are more willing to jump on the bandwagon of rampant nationalism rather than accepting the fact that our current leadership is better defined by fascism than democracy?
It was indeed interesting seeing them run on the new layout (on Speed unfortunately, I live in Michigan now) having spent basically my entire childhood watching my dad race there as well as the whole Dyson crew. While I understand why they made the changes they did to the track, I will certainly miss seeing some of the faster cars come flying over that crest with the front wheels a foot off the ground. I was under the impression that the new layout would retain the old uphill and west bend for certain events, but it looked on TV as if West bend no longer exists? Can you verify that?
I was also under the impression that there would be a new pit entrance before the downhill, but I didn't see anything of the sort. Just a lot of dirt on the track...
Well, since the title of the thread is Camera Showoff, I figured I'd do just that. Mainly they are both used for weddings, but that leaves me time to shoot whatever during the week, hence the non-wedding examples...
As far as I'm concerned most new rap is just mindless entertainment, not music. For it to be considered music, the artist has to actually care about the music and not just the money it brings in...
Edit: In other words, if you rent Lambos and diamonds for your first video, you are not a musician.
I have a relatively old laptop, 1.6 pentium M, 1.5gb ram, and an nvidia 5200. On medium settings, LFS gives me 120fps max, I average about 70fps online. Full grid @ SO6 is about 30-40fps. In rfactor, I have to play @ 800x600, everything set to low, shadows off, I get 10fps at Monaco. Limerock will yield closer to 40fps with 10 or 12 cars. It seems to me that rFactor might not be a complete hog when it comes to system resources, but LFS runs smoother by leaps and bounds for me.
lerts, you're thinking of it like each thing we "see in our minds eye" is a tangible photographic print. Zoom far in to the sky, take an infinite number of pictures while spinning in a circle, line them up side by side and yes, they will stretch further than we can see but:
We, lucky as we are to have imagination, can simply combine all those images that supposedly cover more than one sphere and squish them into our tiny little 360° reality by way of overlapping each image or memory with the next.
