Second start, second win! However, the field wasn't much to speak of... I'm quite sure I've got a pummeling coming from some of you pretty soon.
Yeah, I'm just trying to take it easy, no incidents yet...
Haven't spent much time in the legends but they seem twitchy and fun.
Edit: I did notice that in that last race my FFB would grab to one side occasionally, like I went through a rut, but in spots I've never noticed bumps in the track before. Hmmm...
Just entered my first race, started from the back @ Laguna. Ended up winning as the leader was taken out by someone leaving the pits (I was catching him anyway ) No incident points even.
It was refreshing seeing people actually ease into T1.. and T2, 3, 4, etc... First lap took forever, but it was clean at least. If that race was any indication of how things are going to be in iRacing, I think I'll enjoy it quite a bit.
As an aside, my new rig got here today and I couldn't be happier. Q9450, 4gb RAM @ 800mhz, 8800gt. Solid 100fps the whole race with graphics basically maxed, even some shadows thrown in there. Only downside is my flat panel isn't here yet so instead of 27" I'm on a 14" CRT from the bottom of a closet....
This Solstice definitely feels more.. on the ground, and subject to gravity... than the cars in LFS, that's for sure.
Down to 1:03.6 at Limerock and (not so down) to 1:52.2 at Laguna. I also re-calibrated my pedals very slowly like some have mentioned in the iracing forum and the brake isn't nearly as touchy as it was before. Makes life a little easier...
Well I'm down to about a 1:04.6 at Limerock in the Solstice. Still having issues with lockup going into Big Bend (T1) so I've resorted to stuffing some foam behind the brake pedal and it seems to help a bit.
Well, I'm downloading the big update and whatever server they're using is the fastest I've seen since I moved into this new house. 1.5mb/s of actual download speed. Maybe that sucks? For around here though, it's rare you can get anything that fast.
Reminds me of the Napster days circa 1998 when I'd wait all night for 7 songs at 2.8k/s...
It's not a dual core, which might be a hang up.
1.6ghz pentium M
1.5gb RAM
nvidia 5200 overclocked a little. 60-70fps solid in LFS, less SO with a full grid, in which case it drops to 30-40fps.
Should I just try and wait for the new system or do you think I'd be alright offline for a few days?
So I finally got my invite! What's the story with "unlocks"?
I've got a new computer on the way and was going to wait for that to arrive before I got started, but now I'm getting itchy to try it. If I start iRacing on this old laptop will I have trouble unlocking it on the new computer, or is it just like LFS?
If putting some liquid in a hollow cross worked as you say it does, it would be done. Period. The whole world would be using it in every application imaginable!
Next post:
In fact, it is so "cheap and easy" that not only would someone have discovered it by now, but in all probability someone would have discovered it completely by accident... by now. A plumber perhaps...
Seriously, make us a video of this working and you are my new god. Go to the store right now and buy some PVC piping, put it together and show us it works!
The skins that Zach posted have nothing to do with the dds file editing I'm doing. Unfortunately I've been busy and haven't made any progress past what you see a few posts up.
If you're being remotely controlled, you've lost the ability to exercise free will, which means you no longer have the option to choose what you will or will not play.
Funniest thing all day. Back OT, I really think a pace car option would be more useful than a safety car for yellows. Maybe in big league races where instant spectate/pits isn't allowed, but I'd rather have rolling starts than a car coming out every time someone stuffs it into the wall. When and if the LFS damage model simulates carbon shards and oil, etc., all over the track, then maybe...
Counting grammar, punctuation and spelling, you've made 18 mistakes in your last post alone. Not to mention cursing at us. Did you really expect to be taken seriously?
The reason no one will post "the 1 sound file" that you so eloquently requested is because this is the Official LFS Forum, and it is quite clear you have not paid for access to official S2 content. Even if you had, coming in here sounding like a pissed-off kindergartner demanding free lollipops will get you nowhere...
Slightly OT, but is it possible to select gallons instead of litres when displaying fuel burnt in Online Racer Stats? I can't find it in LFSW settings...
For what it's worth, I moved from Montana to Michigan about a year ago. I finally got around to updating my location at myctra yesterday, and Michigan USA is mysteriously absent from the list of locations!
I'm getting pretty fed up with Fox Sports and their coverage of the post-race interviews, or lack thereof i should say. It would have been nice to hear what Piquet had to say...
You can't compare Nazi Germany to Iraq and Saddam and expect people to listen. Not even close. Germany was very much so a specific threat, complete with adequate manpower and resources. Saddam's regime was a joke in comparison, in terms of scale and perceived threat. As far as WMDs, you're missing something if you think the U.S. administration didn't tell the public WMDs were the only reason for invasion. It was their entire case as far as the public knew, yet had very little, if not absolutely anything, to do with their actual agenda. They fed the media what the majority of U.S. citizens would need to hear to get behind them, plain and simple.
This is completely unfounded speculation, and it sounds quite similar to something Donald Rumsfeld would mutter off to cover his tracks as some reporter from CNN lists off the number of times he's contradicted himself and his colleagues in the last week...
