I've got an old 1940's or 50's Turntable with a beautiful cabinet. But I can't be troubled to fix the bloody thing and get it working. + When my kids were younger they played frisbee in the basement with my records

Quote from AlienT. :Entry Requirements:

1. Either 75% grey or bald (Bobby Charlton type hairdo may be accepted at managements discretion)
2. At least 40% of teeth missing (false teeth may be worn on special occasions)
3. Obviously you have to be slow as hell.
4. If your not in the Canadian mafia you have no chance.
5. Gimp suit must be worn for all league events, this can be provided on a 'hire drive' by the team, see StableX for details.
6. You must invite the whole team to your house for a party and of course provide free flights and accomodation (5 star and first class travel preferred).
7. Must have been refused entry into Concept Racing before applying for RSR. (This is a must and non CR rejects will not be considered under any circumstances)
8. As our recruitment manager has vanished due to goofed PC you must buy him a new one if you want in.
9. Also it does help if you are very old, most of our members are in late 30's and 40's. (I get embarrased talking about my sexual exploits with animals when younger members are around)

Last of all good luck on your application!

God do I ever want my false teeth to share your cup on the bedside table

Quote from Billeh :Thanks Don and Strobe, i have spoken to him about this and he has told me not to worrie its a small afair that will be taking place outdoors with a small selection of family and friends. I also told him i will refuse to do it if i dont feel up to it and he respects that .

My 2 best tips for shooting weddings.

1: Don't do it!!!!

2: Be aware of your background. (Most cameras will take excelent pictures on auto now if you need it. But only you can decide on the background that makes your subject the center of attention.)

My Nikon tip for you is don't use Auto uless you have to. Use Program instead. The camera will go through 30 000 samples to match up what your shooting against the closest in its sample of images.

Just my 2 cents.

I Agree!

rFactor looks like crap and handles like crap but it sounds wicked:evil:
Try the Gills sound packs http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=44432 they are very good and you sound like your going faster, even if your not.

The only way to get a banner upthere is to offer something to the community.
The RSR site has a very good news section devoted to SIM Racing in general but a good bit of it is solely for LFS this is what enables the banner to be on the forums.

The news section just happens to be on our site.

Quote from Ripley :My fear is that those dials and things are too much PlayStation specific, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks anyway for replying Todd.

Sorry can't tell you.

But I will say this. It dosen't matter!, you still get more buttons than any other wheel and it works friggin great.
Way better than the old DFP and not much more money.

Quote from Ripley :Hi all.
I never had a wheel before, and yesterday I was going to buy the DFGT, then I refrained. And today I find this thread...doesn't sound like it is a much loved wheel over here...

Anyway, you old-time drivers, do you think that Logitech will support it with nice Windows drivers one day? I heard that it must be used with the DFP drivers, and some buttons and/or dials don't work with the pc.
What is your experience with Logitech/Wingmanteam support over the years?
If I buy one, can I be sure that I'll find correct drivers soon or later?

Thanx

I have this wheel and absolutly love it. I bought it a month or so ago to replace my Wingman Formula ForceGT.
Having never owned a G25 I can't say how it compares...but after hearing people moan about the old DFP's lack of responsivness I can assure you this wheel is fast and very responsive.
I picked mine up for $97.00+Tax and it is worth every penny.

Get one M8 you won't regret it. At th emoment your computer and the Wingman drivers only see it as an old DFP but even without all the buttons working it is great.
You still get all the old DFP buttons just not the new ones yet.

Quote from SamH :I don't think it's possible to prevent recession in the US, since the US is already in recession and has been for some time now. The only thing to do is try and conceal the severity of the recession by all political means available - something the Republicans are failing at with style as I type.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a run on a lot of US banks, many of which are far too small to be able to inspire confidence in their patrons. The UK's Northern Rock embarassment may be seriously overshadowed in the next few weeks. Hopefully instead we'll see more redistribution of wealth across banks, as people distribute their savings in $100K chunks to FDIC member banks. Any US bank (if there are any) that is not FDIC-insured will prolly plop very soon.

Since the Amero is only theoretical (fortunately!), Canada's economy isn't intrinsically as at risk as it could have been. There is a lot of trade between the US and Canada that will falter, and that's obviously not good, but the plus side is that the US could finish up being to Canada what China has been to the US - a source of quality goods at relatively low prices. With the US economy in freefall, you may wanna shore up the border patrols with the US though.. or ditch socialised medicine and make yourself look like a dump, else the yanks will be a-coming.

Sam you read my mind!! I bet all the Gas and resources that we have are going to look tastier and tastier to the US in the years to come. Don't be suprised one day if you see us being helped (invaded) by the US Army for our own good
Our Weapons of Mass Destruction are hiding in our igloos. (We like to call them Doobies, Spliff, Joints, Weed)

Also remember to start going around the track in say 2nd gear...resist the urge to go faster
Then on your next lap go a bit faster then faster on the next and so on.

Everytime you go a bit faster the track will just come to you. And most of all have fun and don't get frustrated. If you try too hard it will just get harder.

Weird.

Now I will tell you right off I am no computer wizard at all!!!!!!
But you might want to try this clear calibration tool. Then reinstall all your drivers and such and try again.

I don't have a clue if this will do anything but it couldn't hurt to start from scratch.

Quote from lowrider181 :? Is that an accusation trying to say I crack? Or you talking to the other guy?

It was a reminder about that annoucement, I was not implimenting that you ARE actually doing it.

Of course I'm talking about the other guy. Sorry if I quoted wrong wasn't implying you cracked the game.
He is a Demo user needing sounds for cars he isn't supposed to have.

Quote from lowrider181 :Damn your good grill

Just been lookig through and wondering if you have any gear shift or engine starter .wav's to replace the stock sounds.

Been looking for a quite a while but not found any :/

Thanks for help anyways.

Edit: Also you guys, did you read that announcement? About knocking demo people? :/

This wasn't knocking a Demo user. I don't think Demo users get all those cars to drive. So why would you need all those sounds? "Cracked game maybe????"

Quote :It took me a few minutes to set them up "Very much a no brainer setup" Download the latest drivers from Logitech....wait a minute this wheel isn't supported yet Oh well I knew this going in.
After installing the drivers for the Old DFP my wheel was recognized as a regular DFP. (This meens that 4 or 5 of the buttons on the wheel are not shown or recognized including the big cool horn button) Not that big a deal when you have so many buttons to begin with, but a let down none the less.

This is the same wheel I have. There are no drivers out for it yet. Just download the old DFP drivers from Logitech and use them. Your wheel will work just without some of the buttons.

Good luck!!

Thought I would post my thoughts on my new wheel.

After playing LFS for a year and a half with a Logitech Formula Force GP I felt it was time to invest in a new wheel. I was seriously thinking of a G25 until my wife saw the price and assured me I would not be getting that one It's a bit like being a child again once you get married

Anyway I decided to get the New Logitech DFP GT delivered to my door from SwiftGamers.com for $120.00 Total!!

First impression was wow this sucker is heavy compared to my old wheel. Main wheel body is very soild feeling and must weight close to 10lbs. Pedals are definitly a step up from my old set. They feel nice especialy the brake which has alot more resistance than my old one.
It took me a few minutes to set them up "Very much a no brainer setup" Download the latest drivers from Logitech....wait a minute this wheel isn't supported yet Oh well I knew this going in.

So all installed and off to the races I go!! Holy SH*& the wheel almost broke my thumb off I had forgotten to turn down the force feedback This wheel is very stong, and fast!! There is no problem with the wheel fighting you when you want to correct a spin like with the old DFP's. The wheel is super easy to turn and feels very light on its feet. Until the feedback kicks in that is, then you have wonderful feeling and excelent feel for the road.
I can't believe how much of the game I was missing. There are actually bumps in the tracks that I never knew about!!
Overall a great wheel! I would suggest it to anyone who is looking for a new wheel but doesn't have the $250 to spend on a G25 (Or a wife that will kill them if they do)

I will edit this after I have had the wheel for awhile and let people know about any problems with the pedals or wheel.
