I think the TBO's seem to be balanced for longer races not sprints like most days on CTRA. In a long race the other cars can make up time after the FXO has crisped their tires.
I personaly like the way it is now because if I need to keep up and have a good race with some ALIENS I choose the FXO, if I want to race with people more in my class I choose one of the other cars

I have a few questions though.

What does Lizard think of this? Has he totally given up on the series? Did he give it to you to run?
I know you guys will do a great job of running it and I'm glad it won't die...but what is Lizards thinking?
I for one would like to know what is going on behind the scenes just to know that all is cool with him, he deserves to stay in the loop (If he wants to) since he started this league.

Sounds like you can get all the help you could ever need!! From some super experienced people (CORE) that have run leagues and don't want yours to fail.
Take the help and be greatful It's not eveyday they offer to help someone else run a league.

Well I have to say it isn't boring doing this league!!

BUT the standard of driving from some people in his series needs to be looked at!
There was one person this race that was horrible. He wasn't driving he was crashing!! He wouldn't have been permitted to stay on a public server, let alone a series racing server
For your next season I think you should have tryouts or do invites only to get people to race. That way you know what you are getting into before hand.

I also think you guys should write down all the rules and each admin should have a copy on hand. That way you all are on the same page when someone asks a question.
Also you have a policy in place for people to contact you by chatting....why do people get a chat warning when they use it?

You guys have a great series here if you work out the bugs.....BUT you need to get it done fast, or no one will be left at the end of the season.

If you need it, our [HR] server is set to the new patch and we have the layout already loaded onto the server. Let us know today and we will lock it down for sunday with a password of your choosing. And we will get your yellow flag software and stuff going if you need it.

I haven't had a chance to try it with LFS yet as I'm on vacation, but I'm totally blown away by how well it performs in flight sims. Since the LEDs are infrared, I've strapped on a visible light filter in front of my webcam to avoid too much background noise interfering with the tracking (just a piece of the inside of a floppy disk -- it's great for the job!). The tracking is flawless and responsive, and the cap is very comfortable. Can't wait to try it out with LFS!

I know that the TrackIR-fans keep saying that their system is better because it has more FPS than a normal webcam can allow. But seriously, I notice absolutely no lag at all. 30FPS is more than enough for smooth, precise movement. And the next version of FreeTrack will also include support for using a WiiMote instead of a webcam for tracking, which gives you 120FPS. Plus, FreeTrack is -- well -- free.

All in all, I'm extremely positively surprised at how well both the software, and particularly the cap, are working. I'd definitely recommend you guys to give it a go. If someone wants the contact information to the guy making the cap, just drop me a PM.

This was going to be my question as well. We were on there last night for awhile and after doing about 20 laps your tires are toast!!!!

Even driving really slow there is no way they will last 150 laps. Also this layout has no pit if you make even the tiniest mistake your race is over.

My next question is how do we tell if we get a provisional spot on the grid?

That was what I signed up for!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was an amazing race.
I had a crap start. After pulling a 1:34 out of my ass and qualifying 5th, I had to get my kids off the internet for the race start, that was taking forever. So I got up out of my chair for 2 seconds and come back to my computer to see my spot gone!!! BOO
After starting last and gaining a few positions I settled into a rhythm. My race had been planned around lots of cautions too
Oh well I would rather have a nice clean race with hot tires than a caution fest like the last 2.
After cycling through the pit stops I found myself in a very weird position!! 3rd I am not used to this I was doing fine until I wrecked my front left camber....not sure where I did it but after that I started hemorrhaging time.

I ended the race in 7th place and I am happy with that. It could of been allot worse.

The people with records will whine for 1/2 a day and then they will forget and start racing like mad again Tonnes of fun!!

I feel some long fun days of racing coming on!

Purely a points thing, I get bugger all driving anything bar GTRs.

Edit: It also generally gets a few more racing in the GTRs, just like people are mentioning above.
