Sounds a bit like the old Car Wars role playing game, remember those - you had an arena laid out on paper with paper cars, hit points, weapons etc! Really enjoyed that.

Think I'll give this one a go later this evening.

Not bad TiJay. The engine sounds seem nicely matched and the skid screech is pretty good, although it would sound better with varied skid sounds.

Great work! Although.....

It maybe me (probably!), but I've extracted the gloves into the data\dds folder (taking a backup of Gloves_A.dds) but they don't appear in game. Where do I select them from?

For me the FXR definitely, it's the only GTR I can control with the mouse. Second to that the turbos - FXO, RB4 and XRT.

I tried a friends wheel awhile ago and boy was it good! That's when I found the joys of running the FOX around SO.

Quote from B11TME :No worries m8....Here is the halfords car asked for.

Sweeeeet!!! Many, many thanks - I'm very chuffed with that! Guess what is taking pride of place as my desktop wallpaper!

Fancy a few more BTCC skins? It's a little personal project of mine to do as many of the 2005 season liveries. If you've signed up on the Master Skinnerz forum you can get them there under the "Your skinning Lab/Zero7's Garage".

If not, I'll post them here.

Thanks again.

Quote from vpr01 :like i said, quite a selfish point. I just dont see how someone can get any enjoyment from a racing game with keyb/mouse!

That's very harsh. I get an immense amount of enjoyment out of racing games, it's just that LFS does mouse control very well.

I've introduced two people to LFS and they both find it fantastic and they don't have a wheel.

OK, granted I'm sure that having a wheel immerses you in the experience that much more, but you can't assume that players with kb and mouse don't get any enjoyment out of racing games.

As a full-time mouse player I fully agree with all your suggestions (simply don't have the room for a wheel at the moment). I'd be happy to share suggestions/take suggestion from other kb/mouse players.

Get the thumbs up from me!

Downloaded successfully!

Think I'll stick with FlashGet.

Great movie Kemot, very, very slick. Do you work in video production? If not, you ought to!

Quote from deggis :Yes it is. I have also Firefox+FlashGot Extension+FlashGet and I can even make file queues with it. You said you have Fresh Download, try using FlashGet? It's the best download manager anyway.

Thanks deggis. I'm downloading [MPT] story.zip right now using FlashGet - thanks for the tip - it seems to be working so far

Is the Movies Pit compatible with download managers?

I'm using Firefox with the Flashgot Extension which hooks into Fresh Download. The download manager program gets started ok, but it doesn't start the download.

I've tried using the normal Firefox download method but the connection seems to stop downloading after 30 - 50 MB or so. I don't really want to keep trying the download too much as it's eating into my monthly bandwidth cap.

I only started playing S1 not long before S2 was released and I have to say that it hooked me pretty much straight away. The ease of navigating the menus to setting up your car (although that is still a black art to me to get it right!).

Now, at 34 and with a family, LFS is perfect for the quick half hour race every now and then. There's no way that I could afford the time of 2 - 3 hours of going through qualifying and then a full blown 30 or 40 lap race (the idea of doing this is very attractive though - I just think a divorce would probably be on the table before I knew it!). When you've got a family, priorities are in other areas and LFS allows many of us a quick fix to de-stress from day-to-day life.

The younger players have the time, patience (generally, not always) and persistance to get good at games. Us "old-uns" have the experience (someone else mentioned this) and use this to our advantage.

Anyway, young or old, we all enjoy our favourite sim and have a blast with it.

Quote from the_angry_angel :http://www.vorbis.com/download_win.psp Check out ogg drop. Just drop an audio file onto it, and it will spit out an ogg file. Very handy, and simple to use.

Nice one! Thanks for the link, I'll give it a try.
