Theres literally so many good/not so good memories that ill keep forever. People that gave me knowledge and insights, loads of hours talking and laughing about online racing, real life racing and all the other relevant topics. Some of those people i had the pleasure to get to meet eventually, some are still too far out of reach, sadly some arent among us anymore.
This community gave me all of that, so it will always remain a sweetspot in my heart.

On topic tho, a few of "those":
19th dec 06 - the first S2 online appearance credit due to Easy_Mike / Cawwa
Joining team XFR/nFusion/nFinity ( Wave Kid222 )
the scipy phenomenon
switching from mouse control to wheel (for a short stint pedals/mouse steering)
Getting the almighty red momo and G25 (at the time) credit due to Cawwa
...MoE...
last but not least, missing Tomek.

Tried to search this but couldnt find any so: would there be an option to collaborate with the guys from Camshaft Software on an Automation <-> LFS exporter tool? The BeamNG link proved overtime to be great success for both parties.

Cheers on the news.

i can only stand by what Isac is saying here. Its very poor way of handling things, washing hands with "people not taking part in...", were they notified anyway? Perhapse a notification on the multiplayer page "hey, we're testing something, we'd like you to have a look <click here>" would have avoided these imo ridiculous postings. As part of the translators guild, i do get glimses of potential incomming changes but i cant jump on a 3 day notice to verify a potential gamebreaker is intended to be added to the sim.
@Scawen, you probably missed my post in the thread where you announced the intent to make small changes, ill remind you that back in time when LFS was in its strongest, the MAJORITY of the people racing then were begging for simple solutions that were overlooked (considering the GTR balancing). These things were nothing compared to what we're pushing back and forth here.

I hope this will not look like im trying to bash on anyone or anything but ive got a few points to make here, please bear with me on a rather lenghty post.

First - as part of a nowadays (it seems) minority that is about the pure driving experience and none of these changes will appeal or make any difference to. That minority actually had some amazingly constructive feedback attempted to be given about some specific aspects of the mentioned GTR class which would have had big effects on the (at the time) largest and most interesting leagues ran at LFS. Somehow, all that valuable information was neglected at the time. Somehow we come to the times when some minority asks for absolutely invaluable options which would make no sense implementing and wasting time at (from that same hardcore, hardloving purist minority PoV).

On the AI's front, other sim's workaround this issue is to run the bots server side. Granted this puts the load running them at the servers hands but the benefits are that the lag experienced by their movement is set.
Ofcourse, this will cause a rethink of the whole structure of the connection between the server and users, overhaul of the dedicated server etc etc.

Finally, it all comes down to what appeals to you guys - the developers. Once having arguably the biggest events in simracing, environment that was high class in terms of knowledge, respect and confidence, that gave the opportunity to a few to make the switch to real world racers, endurance races that kept hundrets of people on their toes in terms of interest in the game or a casual drift/cruise simulation. I however yearn to get my hands on the redesigned tracks you so effectively are teasing us with. Thumbs up

ive gone through that combo aswell, works. LFS is very versatile in terms of setups.

Two of the main limiting factors as of now for geared electrical motors are the torque output and high rpm. The higher the torque output, the stronger the gears/shafts/bearings need to be which in terms adds roational mass that can not spin at infinite rpm.
The general concept of dc (brushless) electrical engines have current output limit that in term limits the 0 to low rpm torque output. As rpm's rise, torque increases as to a point that voltage becomes the bottleneck. Top end rpm is achieved by dropping the current, as so torque drops dramatically.
Ive been toying with the idea of a CVT gearbox, purely for simplicity sake, engine torque can be limited at all times so it will not cause slip in the belt driven conical gears of a CVT, top end rpm can be given a little boost in torque as CVT can provide a more suiting gearing ratio... its all just theory.

Rimac use a nice and well packed design on two gears (low and tall) gearbox, that seems to be working well for them and their customers.

Holy no oh no - no virtuel racing line and goes faster still? Good point cloud, I like that arrogance..Nod

Really no reason to be cocky about two flawed laps with the exact same count of mistakes. 2c

From what it used to be in the past days of MoE, hitting the poles in the race wasnt an issue. It only invalidated your laptime in quali.

A simple r/w barrier would've made people think before do.

Im with a bit of mixed feelings tbh. For the sake of applying the rules, sending out a message to the public that rules are strictly followed its right thing to do. But on the other side of the coin, we cant compare sim racing to rl simply because we're at home, cant get hurt (except if you lay your chin on the wheel and some one hits hard your car ).

In my view, the actual penalty given for breaking this specific rule is a tad too harsh. We're in a situation that the grid will have 2 empty spaces not because of lack of interest but because the rules say so. Rules usually are made to help contain a certain process in a pre-set margins and if the process goes beyond the margin - to be corrected by the "rules". In simple words - the rule as it is now is more of a hurdle than of any help.

In conclusion, i would just suggest invalidating the times infringing the rule, coming last in the pre qual order - filling up the remains of the spaces and enjoying the full grid in the race.

After all, this is pre qual, we run a more relaxed session (reset, spec, pit).
