Yesterday I tried my anaglyph glasses with iz3d driver (http://www.iz3d.com/driver ), because the nvidia driver doesn´t work anymore with forceware. I have to say it´s a lot better, because you can adjust the convergence seperately. The "optimized red/cyan" option gives the best result.
As I´ve understood it the installer will simply copy the LFS Folder to your hard drive. So think LFS will work after copy and paste the extracted installation file. Just check it out.
Is Flight Simulator X optimized for quadcores? Or is the graphics card more important? (8800 GT) I have upgraded to Phemon II 940 recently and am thinking about giving Microsoft another chance
Check the global setup under "options". Uncheck the combined axis box. I don´t use the englisch version, so I don´t know how it is exactly called. Be sure to uncheck it in the LFS profile, too.
Check the axis assignment. To do that click on each pedal at the wheel graphic. There you can asign the pedals i.e. brake to brake, clutch to clutch and so on.
I think you couldn´t try overtaking anymore if you´re supposed to keep far away enough to avoid collisions. But the closer you are the more aware you have to be to "unsual" braking, esp. in slow corners.
I´ve been driving Cone Dodgers, AS3, a lot lately, there you can watch beginners trying to fly around track and causing crashes all the time. It should be renamed to Crash Dodgers.
It´s the 9800 GTX+ with a new label. The only difference is that the new card comes definitely with 1100 Mhz memory speed whereas the 1 GB version of the 9800 GTX+ has only 1000 Mhz.
I´ve just seen your gauge´s color setup. Thanks a lot, they look so much more realistic. I had all blue or orange before. Don´t know why I didn´t get it earlier. Or is this the standard setup and I messed it all up?
Adding more than 1 GB RAM won´t give you a performance boost in LFS, but in other games. You can only use 4 GB RAM if you run a 64 Bit system, like XP 64 or Vista 64, because the XP 32/Vista 32 handle only 3 GB.
Ok, could it be that the special DFGT driver is incompatible with Windows 7? It´s hard to think about Windows in a logical way, I once lost my keyboard support having installed my mainboard drivers after a new xp installation. I didn´t manage to get it to work, so I had to install Windows again (The keyboard worked fine in BIOS!)
Maybe that´s the reason why it´s called Windows 7 Beta! Any possibility to test the wheel with vista or xp (friend?)? I can´t imagine how Logitech´s Gaming Software should hinder LFS from starting.
Stating LFS is only in an alpha stage won´t explain why some think it´s a little bit out of age. 6 years of development (including S1) and still alpha? I like the graphics, but they tend to look old after having played Burnout Paradise for a while (Beat me! I love Burnout since the first PS2 sequel!). I don´t know if I remember this right, but hadn´t Scawen said once, coding LFS to directx9 would take 4 weeks? Or was it someone else.
Next year, we will have directx11, so sticking to directx8 isn´t a feature for the future. I know, some will say, LFS isn´t even using the whole directx8 features, but you´ll have to change someday anyway. And you won´t be able to use pixel and vertex shader 3.0 sticking to directx8. LFS needs better lighting!
Whose playing directx7 titles today?
The alpha version of LFS is much more fun than most final versions of other racing games! But calling it alpha gives you more time for finishing, because if it was already beta, people would start crying about when the final version is gonna released.
No need to go away from LFS! What´s the problem? If I want to play LFS I play LFS. If I want to have some Rallye fun, I start RBR and if I wanna drive the Nordschleife, I start GTR2. It´s up to you.
Damned, have to reinstall Outrun 2006 to feed the arcade beast...
Keep in mind that LFS makes only use of 1 core. So what you need is a powerful dual/quadcore that can offer enough power running on one core.
2.7 Ghz isn´t that much for an AMD single core, but Intel´s 3 Ghz are enough for single core operations. If you don´t want to overclock, go for the E8400, if you want to overclock get a E5200.
The physics are updated 100 times a second, so everything above 100 FPS is a waste of power! If you run LFS on a TFT 60 FPS is the maximum you´ll see, so cut the FPS at 62 or 66.
