To me my problem was never with the downloading of them And that screen stutter, To be honest I learned to ignore it. But it was when I was behind a car that I hadn't loaded the skin for, Noticed it when I was behind a [SR] dude when he came out of the pits, When he came from behind the wall, he had a soild white car, and my frames went down to about 2 - 5 FPS until he was out of my field of view, It even lagged when he was in my mirrors, but the second his skin popped up it was all fine and dandy, back up to 200+ FPS or whatever it runs at. xD
It was also saying some weird stuff like "cannot open skin" or such, It was a long time ago, but I thought I should add it in since I was just lurking.
I don't really understand how, This game was meant to be played online with other people, Who cares if some people made it into some kind of micro test drive game? I've cruised before, I didn't really find it any fun, So I just don't play it, Cruisers only ruin the game if you let them, There are tons of autocross/Drift/Race servers out there, Just blacklist what you don't want and move on, If all else fails, race alone and build setups.
It's people like you that don't understand LFS is a game, And it can be played many different ways and will be for different people's enjoyment.
Forum 101 of being a absolute dick, Call everyone a absolute dick.
"..I won't be coming back for good.." - Nobody on this forum really cares when anyone leaves like you did, If it's a death causing you to be away that's different, But you're just one of those people that happen every now and then that pop off with a rant that can only address a small part of the community yet you threw everyone under the bus, Congratulations, everyone hates you.
"..lacks in any sort of human compassion.." - There are RIP threads in off topic where some people can show a bit of emotion, Other than this, This is a racing simulator forum, This isn't us constantly holding your hand through a tough time in life giving you a shoulder to cry on, Most people just race to win and comment on events in races. I personally like how people don't try to smother me in a gooy life story every time I hit off-topic.
"..sort of friendly atmosphere.." - Once again, You've thrown everyone under the bus, Most people here are very friendly, But now that you've called everyone a dick, I'd be surprised if even the nicest people here want to help you. This is a racing forum, People here want two things, Racing, And winning, Some people have a passion for it, This makes teams have grudge matches when something doesn't go there way, And makes people go up against some very quick drivers (Like when I floored franky in WE1 with a XRT. :P) With racing you get competition, Unless you're friends with the guy you're door to door with, And talk out any mistakes you made to intentionally or unintentionally hurt his car/race (Not talking about automatic sorry messages) Then you've just made him/her have a reason to dislike you.
"..as no one will read.." - You're exactly right, This thread has happened about 50+ times before, In general the forum really doesn't give a crap when you toss some very nice racers/people under a bus where only 5-10% of people should be. If anything I thank the trolls for being so hard on the new members in a way, It causes them to not rage-out so much when they get crashed.
Iracing has the most members (I'm pretty sure of this.) and the most active community, But honestly I couldn't get into iracing due to the feel of "must-race-before-time-expires" And could never enjoy it.
LFS has a little bit less community than Iracing, But is much better ... I like to own my games.. Not lease them (even though I love steam, So I'm kinda hypocritical, But you get what I mean. :P
I don't think we should throw up the party balloons just yet, A quick glance at the community tab "Member list" says

Probably a game that allows you to use creativity (Garry's mod, Eve Online) To shape the world the player is in, I'd say a player created world would probably be the best thing, Since gamers know what gamers like. (But Bethesda probably came closest to capturing all gamer types with Skyrim.)
If it was supported by devs, Or made by Cargame or another big server, You could pay money to race (monthly?), Similar to Iracing and supporting the devs/server owner(s) at the same time. But only for the CTRA Server, Other servers hosted by regular users could be free after the cost of S2 (or demo.. Or S1) Like they are now.
Basically this means if under warranty something goes wrong (Inside, Like, A gear brakes, Belt tears, Wiring fries and not of your own fault/doing) Then you can return it for a brand new one.
