Guys, does anybody know how to create custom cameras in nKPro 1.1? I think I've read some time ago that it can be done, but I don't remember where I read it.

No jokes, without boosting the settings in my gfx card I have a lot of aliasing & shimmering. After boosting them, I get something like this (unedited screen-shots)...

Quote from Silverracer :No idea how it works; but maybe you can try via a proxy? If you plan on buying the Fiorano package drop me a PM here. I've got a code for 30% discount (probably everyone who signed up in that might have gotten one).

Thanks! I have the discount code too, but I cannot use it!

Btw the discount code is public, given on their facebook account: 70JBT-05LDH-D3I8S-R38ZU (30% off, until October 3rd)

For the last 3-4 days the FVA site shows up like this

I've tried on two different computers, two different Internet providers, with Firefox, IE8 and Chrome. I know other guys here in Greece have the same problem. This makes the offer unusable.

Is there an suggestion/solution?

Quote from DejaVu :To further this, he just replied saying that AI times ARE NOT fake in racing. . . what a load of shit

Post taken from codies f1 forum:

Actually, xaotik (a friend of mine) noticed in that video that the AI times are not fake, but it seems to be a calculation typo and their gaps are subtracted instead of being added

Guys I didn't go through all the pages, so excuse me if it has been already mentioned, but here you can find the list with ALL proposed fixes by Codemasters, regarding the problems reported so far.

In that article it is also mentioned that Codemasters are already working on a patch

PS. Greeks readers should also have a look here.

Quote from bunder9999 :are you sure these aren't automated... franky's been busy, let him do what he has to do... if you're really worried about being charged, ask your CC company for the equivalent to a "stop payment".

It's been since the 14th of September! How busy could he possible be? A simple answer during all those days would be the least one could expect in a customer-provider relationship (it's not that we are buddies from high-school or something). I'm left in the dark plus being spammed by overdue notices all these days.

I keep getting messages in my email that I'm due to payment.

Thanks in advance!

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME????? STOP EMAILING ME THAT I HAVE AN OVERDUE INVOICE (#2266). I DO NOT WISH TO RENEW MY FREAKING SUBSCRIPTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've told you so in every possible way: here, via email, via support ticket. You are FREAKING ignoring me, you don't even bother answering me anywhere, your http://client.500servers.com IS NOT WORKING, and on top of that you have the nerve to keep sending me emails that I'm supposedly overdue?????

Are you guys nuts or what? Are you trying to scam me? What the heck your problem is? I've been more than patient so far, really polite and everything... but you, you are really testing my manners and my patience.

Get your act together and have at least the decency to answer me what the freaking problem is... spamming my e-mail with supposedly overdue bills is not helping at all.

I'll have my bank block/cancel any charges form you, unless you decide to show some tiny professionalism and explain me what is going on, until tomorrow.

Quote from chanoman315 :Is it worth the price?

How are the races, leagues etc?

It depends on what you're looking for. Races, leagues, etc is not currently exactly one of its virtues (there are hardly 10-15 servers online, most of them empty... as for leagues, I haven't tried yet any, but there is not a great selection either).

On the other hand, if you're looking for amazing physics and force feedback (the very best I've found anywhere), then for €19,90 it is really a bargain!

PS. You'll also have to boost the graphics from your gfx card's drivers, in order to enjoy very realistic graphics.

Quote from Crashgate3 :This. Even if you've never even heard of the track you're driving on (so we can disregard any allusion to accuracy) the tiny bumps and undulations in the surface that laser-scanning produces (I'm not talking millimetre sized bumps in the asphalt here, I'm talking about tiny humps maybe a few mm high and anything from a metre or so up to tens of metres across) make it so much more natural. Sure, if you had the time you could create bumps in a fictional track too, but it would never quite be right and you'd never have the time to make it by hand anyway.

This sounds kinda weird, since I'm having a blast with FTarget @ Spa 2001 with nKPro, feeling even the asphalt on a straight on my G25 through FFB and I'm pretty sure Spa 2001 is not laser scanned.

Back on topic, I found the F10 brilliant in FVA, but the choice of Fiorano as their frst track kills all the joy
Btw, nKPro non laser-scanned tracks feel better than the FVA laser-scanned Fiorano

Guys, am I the only one who gets Race Studio 2 Analyze Software crash almost every time I try to Import an nKPro telemetry file? Actually it crashes when it tries to save the .drk file (right after importing the .ntk file). It works seldom and randomly however.

It happens both on Win7 64bits and WinXP 32bits, in all of the latest 10 versions of RS2.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the way the file telemetry_dump.ntk is produced. If for example I go into a server and I just spectate, will the game produce a corrupted .nkt file? Or is there any specific procedure I should follow online, in order to make sure that the produced .nkt file will not get corrupted or something? Or, can't I import a telemetry file which is not produced by me (if I have download it from the net or a team-mate has sent me his, for example)?

I'm trying for 2-3 days now, with no success. The very first time I did it, it worked on WinXP 32bit (the .nkt file was produced on the very same machine). It never worked on Win7 64bit though (although I was always trying to import .nkt files produced elsewhere... on my WinXP machine for example).

I've already posted in nKPro's English forum, no helpfull answers so far

I'm really clueless here (and pretty frustrated too )

Any help or pointers to the right direction would be very much appreciated!

Sorry, but what those screenshots are supposed to prove? I see you being always behind the other guy, without even the slightest overlapping whatsoever, which frankly means you are solely responsible for whatever happens (we don't know what happened btw).

I am simply making an observation of the situation, and if you don't want to buy iRacing then fine, but you act as if iRacing charging more than the competition is somehow 'offensive'. It's complete nonsense. These guys are not your slaves. To get on your high horse because a company that produces an absolutely fantastic product has the audacity to actually charge for it is hilarious.
[snip]

I made it clear from the very beginning that I speak for myself only, to avoid exactly this kind of rant.

In any case, yes for me their pricing policy is offensive. I could perfectly live with less "fresh air" for a way more reasonable price. I don't need to be their slave either, you know, nor being treated like some kind of brainless dummy who needs to be punished even for spinning out of the track, or paying extra money every once in a while for content and/or services that is widely available through the competition for years (scattered amongst it, though).

By "fresh air" I meant (and still do) that they brought a new approach to the sim-racing scene which seems to attract many people (americans and british mostly, who I guess are used to this kind of marketing/pricing practices), not me though yet. It's not at all hypocritical for someone to recognize that something he's not attracted to has brought fresh air to the general scene. Not hillarious either! It's called "honesty" and/or "integrity" in my books.

I'm into simming for many-many years and I've purchased many sims, including gtr2, lfs, rfactor and nkpro. Those 4 keep covering perfectly my current needs, for a price way less than iRacing's corresponding content and/or services, especially if we calculate it for the period iRacing showed up until now.

As for the future of LFS, imho moderated track modding may be a good solution giving a new push to the current state of the sim (at least until the devs come up with something else). Perhaps a system where users will submit tracks to the devs and they'll decide whether they are worth to get released or not (released by the devs I mean). They can always ban from their master server unapproved tracks, making them pretty much useless.

Quote from Intrepid :So you praise the rate of improvement and development of iRacing and then slate the pricing policy which makes that very improvement and development possible!!!!! I love forum hypocrisy!

They brought fresh air to the scene but for an outrageous price. You see something hypocritical in the above phrase? If so, you should look up in the dictionary what "hypocrisy" means.

Being and staying fresh is one thing. Charging more than all the competition altogether for it, is another. And you trying to downplay my right to have my own judgment about when and where I'll spend my money is pretty pathetic.

You don't have to agree with my opinion, but you ought to at least respect it (keep your fancy targeted "adjectives" for your friends or even better for yourself).

This community dies more than the sim itself, imho. Quality-wise, they are both degrading as time passes though, where obviously the devs cannot keep up with the evolving competition (mostly iRacing for now, but also some great rfactor/gtr2 mods too and hopefully nkpro). As a result LFS seems to keep failing in attracting or keeping old-timers.

The point is, each one of us (or each "generation" of us, if you prefer) have different points of reference and/or eras to compare with the current one.

Oldtimers keep leaving from LFS but newcomers keep coming in, so objectively the sim is not dying. Quality and seriousness levels is another story, though.

I believe that simracing in general is not that high at the moment. Apart from the fact that it is not as exotic as it was, say 3 years ago, it seems to me that the only company that really brought something fresh in the sim-racing scene and keeps improving it constantly & frequently during the past months is iRacing.

That being said, I really-really hate their pricing policy. Honestly, I find it insulting (I'm purely speaking for myself here, so plz don't take it as a side attack to all iRacing subscribers and start the usual rant). Never tried iRacing, never will as long as they keep charging their sim more than all the others together (time span included in the math).

rFactor2 is the next big thing most simmers are awaiting for right now, I guess, but I hold my breath until I see it happening (I think it will get released along with the Scirocco and/or lfs s3 :razz

Personally, I've stopped racing frequently about a year ago and I've redirected my energy mostly to organizing stuff. Every once in a while, I jump into the driver's seat for some hotlapping and/or online races in several sims, mostly in LFS though since I'm leading its Greek community.

This doesn't mean LFS is dying of course, it mostly means that I'm getting more and more of an old fart as time passes

On a serious note, I'm not optimistic for the future of LFS (according to an old-timer's standards). I hope I'll be proven wrong, but I really don't see how it would be possible now to bring back the old sparkle (inside the devs' spirits mainly, which will most certainly motivate the community again). I honestly hope, wish and want to see it happening again. I for one will be always around (not so active though).

Added one more video in the first post (8th race - FOX@KY3). This one took me 3weeks to put it together and is the longest video I've ever made (almost 10 minutes).

It's not flawless, but I hope you enjoy it.

PS. You can also download it from Mega Upload for better video & audio quality (384 Mb).
