Quote from yeager :And yet quite accurate. I used to drift a lot in real life on real tracks (mostly Silverstone) and two full laps of Silverstone on full throttle, sideways, will most definitely pop your tyres...

That's interesting to read. I always thought it was common sense here to know that the tyre heating model is pretty wrong. I guess the biggest problem is that you pit out with tyres 10°C below optimum temperature already.

Quote from skiper :Final entry !

Finally a little effort in a picture again. I like the attempt at the motion blur and how the shadow is not blurred. There are quite some drawbacks though. The sun is already setting down or has just risen over the horizon. For that the sun is too bright and the overall szenario and lightning does suit a clear day but not a sun set (orange/red sky, long shadows, darker environment,...). Also for the sun shine itself the rest of the picture is illuminated unrealistically. Try taking a photo with the sun and a street on it at about 03:00 pm. What's also looking bad is that the far away mountains are blurred behind the big fence.
The biggest fault however are the wheels not rotary blurred.^^

Hot damn!

This really is a great effort and the recent thread about making wireframes from scratch made me think: "Are there vector wire frames?" ^^

Now I couldn't believe it but the I opened the .ai and rendered the FBM frame in 10000*10000 pixels.

Thank you very much, man! :spin:

A 56k Modem is poor, ISDN is slow everything above is still widely used and cannot really be considered to be bad. Measurements for my connection show 9 to 12 Mb/s and it takes close to a minute to load this page now.

Quote from Raito :Paint Shop Pro? When i was few years younger and i was doing my first edits of LFS pictures (not posted here but on another czech LFS forum) i was using PSP too and there were some cool "fur brushes". With them i was able to do "freakin' awsom" smoke

You can do similar effect when you play a bit with brush settings in PhotoShop

Yea... OR in fact you just visit a deviant art site, download a few cloudy brushes and use these.

I guess if they miss an estimated release date again the first LFS users will start commiting suicide.

Does it mean by downloading these I got the most (all?) updated reflections? The link to the concrete reflections is not working. :[

Sorry, but I don't have the slightest clue about downloading the reflections.

I just want the specific reflections for every scene available and the generic ones for the rest.

Also, I don't know if you know about this thread when you talk about the reflections:

The work is released, even with the video Teaser in youtube:

About the pic, on topic._

I agree with you but not at 100%.

I put a lot of effort on the tarmac to make the motion blured. Is very hard to work well there.

Some lines are wrong, correct. Not all lines are wrong, that is the truth. I have, always the same fail. I want work in the light and sometimes I forget to work on the motion blur to make a perfect results. But this is not a excuse, of course.

Another worng place is on the left of the spectator (right of the car). The lines are very strange. of course, next time I will improve it. I promise you

As a reminder, is very hard to work with the motion blur in curves.

For the reflections... erm wow! Didn't know they were released. I saw the teaser once and kept late June back in my head. I will look into those great textures tomorrow! :lovies3d:

As for the picture: I can only guess it's hard to do blur like that to look real. Actually that's why I didn't even try yet.^^

You don't have to excuse yourself or make promises. I'm sure by all the pictures you did every edit is a little better than the one before.

Keep it up!

That really is a very good looking edit. I'm keen to see your reflections this summer. The only thing I see is not upon your usual quality standards is the ground all over. The direction of blur is and looks so wrong! Otherwise this is very convincing LFS will achieve real looking graphics with slight improvements.

Now that I think about it I wonder why wire frames made of paths instead of pixels were never released, or were they?

Quote from Lynce :Really is a nice shot, but you are breaking the rules:
  • No renders or old images to be used and NO VOB MODS
The link of the proof:

http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1406065#post1406065

There are guys who puts a lot of effort in the photomode and they respect the rules. Same conditions for all.

I saw this detail because is my favourite pic from you, although was a "cut and paste" .

Cheers, Skyper and good competition.

Also it would not be a valid entry without the external image used.

Quote from brandons48 :The only reason we have that rule is because everybody bitched about using a photo in the entries for that rally theme, I did it first, then everyone else did!

I really like that rule, I absolutely support it. It helps to see how much work really got into an edit.

Quote from swingkid :how about a transaxel car:engine in the frond and gearbox in the back
it's ideal for the weight ratio (40/60 for example )

For a sportscar with transaxel design 60/40 is not a good weight ratio.^^

I absolutely agree. Since we have the chance for an exact comparison with the original image the faults are far too obvious.
