On the track editor idea: Guess a few dozen track modellers working on Assetto Corsa content would happily release their tracks for LFS if it would mean that people could race them online without a big hassle of manually installing and the train wreck of a online interface AC offers

SP7, SP8, SP9, SP10, SP-PRO and SP-X have been banned from racing on the Nordschleife until investigations and resulting potential changes to the track are finished.
While it isn't clear in the english article, the german one on the official DMSB site makes it clear tho that those classes are expected to be run again some time in the future.
So the 24h will be a lot slower this year. I can see them opening it for the slower classes that had been banned from starting the last years to get up to a good sized grid.
First time firing up LFS since August .. wtf? That's unbelievable, I never got lost on a LFS track before.
But I sort of don't get why Westhill was done to that extent. I mean it is nice, all those streets and stuff, but for what? Is this meant as a sort of benchmark or tech demo, showing of what the LFS is still (or just now, I dunno) capable of? Does a racing sim need a track inviroment of that extent.
I honestly am speechless about what we got here, but at the same time my racer mind can't make sense of it.

this could very well be the end of GT3 cars in the VLN. Too much aero for a track like this.

well we made the first reliable AWD for a consumer car, so there is that.
And about the tendency to understeer ... just take a look at the typical customer of Lamborghini. They don't know how to drive fast. They buy the car for different reasons, but not track usage. And in that case its safer to have a car that will plunge head first into the barrier like in a crash test than one that spins out and does whatever.
Just a question of market.
GT3 is one series that can't really be counted as a manufacturers championship (especially since some of the cars are done by external tuners), so "inter-group" battles work there. FWD VW CC race car could work :P . Those rich guys building up race teams like some variety.

well, you gave lots of feedback and constructive criticism, contrary to some other guys whose whole feedback was "it drives great" or "thx" or none at all. Guess a few Forza rips now drive around with my physics.
VW has an engine originally meant for the 1.6 inline-4 world formula, the one running in WRC. But I don't see any VW brand in F1. Audi is at home in WEC, the only brand fitting in F1 imo could be Lamborghini, as it has no competition model in any motorsport iirc (is there a GT3 version of the Huracan planned? I only know of the Trophéo cup)
I need more testers (next to Hyperactive) that actually give feedback, sooo....
