Now that I've set the standard for inclusion (or exclusion), I guess I need to kick Viruz (one of our other very good racers) out too.....http://youtube.com/watch?v=cHbtljGdd2I
Hmmmm....what was this thread about again? Oh yeah...a video...made for the FUN OF IT. Sad that it's turned out this way.
/me downloads LFSTweak so he can join in on the madness that all "bad racers" indulge in.
Oh, and by the way BigTime, you're officially kicked out of CoRe for making fun videos. What the hell were you thinking? I guess all those good league results (ahem, like bringing the car home for a MOE GT2 win) don't really make you a good racer, since you know how to screw around with LFSTweak.
(wait....maybe your not kicked out.....yeah...you can stay)
Thank you, Rooble. Nice to see some common sense. And thank you to squad_e, Nathan_French_14, mcintyrej, and daveja.

Wow...simply...wow. I am amazed by those that even make comments like "all the good racers turning into retards" and "what level is the team at if they're doing this". What are you proving by making comments like that about a movie that was made purely for fun?
BigTime is a fantastic racer. He knows how to get as much speed out of a setup that it will allow. He's also a talented drifter, which can be seen by the car control he does display in that video. Besides, why are you slamming him for having fun?
If some of you guys think CoRe is now on a lower level since BigTime is making videos like this....I suggest you get your team together, make a post in the CoRe Racing Forums challenging us to a race. We're not the fastest team on the planet and we know that and never claimed to be. But, I tell you what: we're not afraid to race any one. Any team, any car, any track, any time. Simply put...bring it.
Congratulations 500Servers! CoRe and the League Of The Americas have used 500Servers for a few days short of a year now, and the server and service have been wonderful! I couldn't have asked for a better host!
And what other LFS server host put these kinds of offers and rewards out there? NONE, I tell you!
Great servers + great people = the world's best LFS server provider!
Well, I managed to get it working consistently. It seems there was an issue (don't ask, I don't know specifically, but I narrowed it down) to the "Remember Me" function. I removed (well....just disabled) that part of the code, and it all works now.
That's true, but it's also misleading. I do a ton of practicing for league races on a public server in 60 minute qual mode. It's also misleading when there are certain people who drive around the oval with only one or two opponents and 3 lap races.
Well, it worked after I reinstalled it, and worked after I logged out last night, but this morning...it's back to nothing. Perhaps I'll just have to wait for the PHP5 version.
Nice idea though. While it was working, it was pretty user friendly. Looking forward to the next iteration and a PHP5 version.
OK...I deleted the install and started over. Things seem to be working OK now. Not sure what happened.
Now I am getting some odd errors with capitalization issues when uploading a setup. For example, the correct setup name for a FXO is "FXO Turbo_setupname.set". This is also how it is shown in the car tables. When I try to upload a setup with a name like that, I get "Car name does not match car in form" message. When I renamed it to "FXO TURBO_setupname.set", it uploaded fine. The same happens with the FO8 & FOX.
Edit: Nevermind, I checked the setups at Inferno, and the FXO setup name format is "FXO TURBO_setupname.set" Is it possible that the Setup Station isn't reading from the car table to get the "name in setup", since mine was set to "FXO Turbo" ?
I am still getting the non-redirection issue, using FireFox 2.0.0.9 and IE7. It does reload the page after logging in, so it appears to be connecting to the database.
MySQL Version: 5.0.27-standard
PHP Version: 5.2.3
I've checked the settings for database connection, and everything is correct.
I've changed the passwords a couple times while logged in. Each time, when I go to do it again, the password is encrypted again, so I assume that is working correctly. This issue happened after I had logged out after changing my password.
I've uploaded the file you mentioned in the previous post and it has not helped. I also tried manually adding a user in the database, which also did not help. I've tried clearing my cache and cookies, no joy.
Just a quick note...we've had a new driver apply for the CDDT. We are taking this opportunity to have the guys get back together after a brief period of inactivity.
December 4th, we'll resume our Tuesday evening meetings at 9:30 PM EST.
I used to go on the City Driving servers that were on the Blackwood Car Park, just so I could chase, and get chased, by my buddies. Didn't really care about the whole cops thing, nor did I respect it. I didn't go out of my way to wreck people, but I didn't just stop when the cops told me to. It was more fun running from the cops. Got banned a couple of times, and never went back, mainly because I really didn't give a shit about it. Cruise servers are pointless to me and it's rare that I ever go in one...maybe only because I see a friend or teammate there. But again, my whole point is to go as fast as I can with disregard to the whole "cruising around for relaxation" thing. Kind of stupid in a racing sim if you ask me.
All that said, I do have to give props to the guys that created the whole money and lottery tickets thing. Some nice programming work.
The biggest obstacle is driver participation (the new guys), and keeping to a structured schedule (i.e. lessons on race craft vs. just racing around). We've had a few meetings, but so far the participation of the CDT drivers outside our Tuesday meetings has been very low. We are still learning with this idea as well, so as we go, we'll report back more.
