I was simply asking because it appears that everyone outside the series admins seem to be discussing the interpretation of the rules relative to these particular protests.
Yes, there is a mention in the "Rules" about a 2-car gap during a parade lap. Nowhere does it mention that there is a penalty for not holding a 2-car gap during a parade lap.
We were told over Ventrilo by Benji, that we could disengage the Pit Limiters if we needed to regulate the gap. You can put two cars in a line in the same gear and with the pit limiters on, and a constant gap will NOT be held, simply because of different gearing in the cars (yes, this can make a fractional speed difference), corners, and reactions to maneuvers taken by other drivers ahead or behind.
And about celebrating early....the outcome of these objections on the 23 car will have no bearing on the final standings, as the 23 car was 10 points ahead coming into the race, and had more wins than the only car that had a chance to tie, the LOTF #1 team, thus mathematically making them the undisputable champions. Yes, we were excited about winning the IGTC title, and we won't apologize for that excitement.
Any idea when these objections will be completed? The series has ended, and I think it's time to get these objections complete so we can move on to off season discussions about what we would like to see changed and/or improved.
I've only participated on a limited basis, but what I have seen so far, I'm encouraged that this can be a solid, long-running league for LFS. Most leagues have races that are 1 hour in length, which is fine. MOE has 6 hours minimum (and up to 24), so the 4 hour length in IGTC feels pretty good for endurance racing.
I think the limitations in LFS will prevent this from being a positive addition to MOE. As my teammate, DeadWolfBones, said, it will certainly require everyone to more prepared for qualifying given they can't make changes other than what you get in the F11 & F12 screens.
My issue is that with a track like the upcoming one, South City Long, that is narrow to begin with, you have a high likelihood of someone crashing, and having a difficult time making it back to the pits because of damage.
If you want to talk about realism, then you must consider that if a car is heavily damaged during qualifying, a SC would be deployed while the car is towed back to the pits. Yes, I know that some of you would say that if a car is being towed, their session is likely over anyway, but you can't always say that with certainty. Adding to that, there are teams that can make large changes to their cars by pulling into the garage. Since we have garages behind the stalls, let the cars pull into a garage before hitting Shift-P.
I mentioned in the Round 8 Objections thread that the use of RCMs (Race Control Messages) that show up across the middle of the screen may be better than regular chat messages. They still show up if someone has used Shift-F to clear the screen of messages.
Anyway, I've done the scripting work in the attached ZIP. Included is an image of how to set it up in game. Only admins can use it, since it is RCMs.
Unzip to a folder of your choice, and then move the "XXXXX.lfs" files to your data\script folder.
Might I suggest the use of Race Control Messages accross the middle of the screen to show green, yellow, and pit limiter commands.
Using the scripting is a way that can help the admins do this quickly. A script that with a single button push, sets and displays the race control message, and another button push clears the message and resets the script for the next time it's needed.
My apologies if this suggestion is in the wrong place, as this is a protest thread.
Congrats to everyone for a great race 8. That was only me second IGTC experience, and I enjoyed driving this combo with my teammates. Congrats to rcpilot for taking the win, and to my teammates in the XRR for taking the championship!
Why are you climbing all over me? I did read what Aquilifer said, which is fine because it's his opinion. I just don't think a radio has a place in this sim. I would prefer to see the racing aspects of this sim finished for S3, not a radio.
Yes, radios are used in racing, but not for any of the reasons Travis stated. And if we had a radio to do the things that radios are used for in racing, like communicate with a crew about car performance and strategy, then that would be cool. Otherwise, no thanks.
With qualifying starting Sunday and the race next week, it would be nice to finalize the skins for this race.
I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I did some work on a logo for this race. If Tweaker doesn't care, I will post it up to see if everyone wants to use it. It's not the world's most imaginative logo, but it's at least something to consider.

Maybe not "print", but certainly an "export" button that sends all setup data to a text file. While there at it, an "import" button as well would be good. You could work on setups outside the sim (perhaps with some outside setup application" and then import into the sim.
EDIT: Yes, I know there is the "Bob Smith Setup Wizard" thingy, but everytime I use that, the cars feel all wrong.
