Seriously, S3R has been around LFS for over three years. Have a little respect for people that do things the right way and choose a different name for this "clan".
Yeah, and there's this: "MANY NATIONS * ONE KLAN". That kind of precludes the use of "Stars and Stripes" since that is normally attributed to the US. But since your tL website talks about a countdown timer "on the left" that is actually located on the right, I wouldn't expect you would know (or understand) the thing about the name.
Any idea when all the protests and Shift-S penalties will be applied for final results? I know there a few of these that will likely decide the overall class winners?
Also, any word on what is being done to reconcile the jump start that servers 2 & 3 (both?) got over server 1?
Having assisted the nGT team for the 16hrs race, I saw first hand how Mark handles himself. I must say, I was impressed with his driving and poise during some tense moments.
Rui has been a pleasure to talk to and based on my teammates' comments, he has been equally impressive in his driving.
Welcome to the CoRe LFS Division, Mark and Rui!
Welcome to the CoRe iRacing Division, Douglas and Blake!
812 British pounds = 1,349.87 U.S. dollars (approx) = taxable income. Uncle Sam will be knocking on your door if you're not careful. Please consider this factor if you go through with this.
On the CoRe GT1 line-up on the tracker, Rik de Jong's name is listed as "R. Jong". Does he have to go into the server like that or can he use "130 - R. de Jong"?
The path that scania posted in the second pic is the better way to do pit exit for FWD and pit entrance for REV, provided there is a barrier to separate the track from the pit lane from the moment you enter/exit to the actual pit line.
Crossing the bridge and coming back onto the track on the outside of that hairpin would take way too much time to be a pit lane and would deposit cars on to the racing line.
I have a question: LOTA has run a number of league seasons now that were multi-class in the same race, yet none of these are shown on the Event Database. In essence, we had two different leagues (with similar, yet distinctly unique rules) running at the same time. For example, we had our Grand Touring Challenge Sportsman series and Grand Touring Challenge Club series (each with it's own points standings) running at the same time. The GTCC cars were restricted, so there was no way they could win the overall event, yet there was a winner for that class.
What can be done to capture the "class" results for these league winners? Is there a way I can submit a list of competitors for each series and have your database recognize all of the winners? This is a similar situation for the MoE.
Remember that the MRT is based on the real-life FSAE car that was purpose built for time trials on custom courses consisting of parking lots and cones, not walls and sand-traps.....kind of like this:
So, in a sense, we are using the car in a manner unlike it's original design intent. I wouldn't have a problem with a function that allowed the car to back up slowly (as in to simulate someone moving it from outside the cockpit) for a limited amount of distance.
I agree that there should be a rule that specifies what your version of "amateur" is exactly. CoRe has made several additions to the team lately with drivers that show good talent now and the potential to develop into fine racers. We've targeted series like this as a way to get these developing drivers the chance to race in a quality endurance series that is well-run. This experience will allow them to not only develop race skill, but will also encourage the development of the type of mentality that you need for endurance racing specificially. Perhaps something that needs to be looked at is that if a team finishes Top-3 for the season, then those drivers that took part in that effort are no longer eligible for GTAL.
I'm real big on the "gentlemens' agreement" thing, but being a league admin myself, I think that there must be a concise and throrough rule to make sure that a team that chooses to enter must do so with drivers of the type that this series is expecting.
I would have said "proberly" in response, but I rent a VPS to run all of the servers for LOTA and I've never had any tough issues with "matening" the servers and I've had 5 running (w/ an insim-enabled app on each) at once.
Now, as someone stated before, we started to see lag issues when more than two servers are populated with drivers from around the world. I don't know what he is running on, but mine are running on 64-bit Win2003 servers with 1GB RAM and 300GB tfer/mo (which we've never even approached) on a dedicated IP.
