Quote from DeadWolfBones :Would it be possible for you to make a short video of this incident (after your stint, of course)?

Quote from rcpilot :It's not too hard to get to, just two laps into the stint.

Indeed, it would take me longer to make a movie than it would to fast forward 2 laps into the replay to see the incident....

Though, I'll give it a shot.

Protest against: 18 - Marcel Opfer (GT1)

Lap 56, three turns past Sector 2 split

I gave him the inside to pass. He went the inside, and then abruptly moved to the right, tagging my LR, sending me spinning into the left wall. Sustained left side control arm damage to both left side tires.

The StreetStock Cup race was a ton of fun with all twenty-eight drivers scheduled to run on grid for the green lights. Twenty-six finished, with the two dropping out due to being stranded in the sand and running out of fuel. This looks like this could be a fight to the finish for the championship podium spots. Good to see some new faces, including Smack from Dark Side Racing, and Ihab Abbas from Egypt racing with us.

The BF1 Sprint Series race was a little more hectic, I think, with many of the drivers still a bit inexperienced with driving the BF1 car for that long at one sitting. Still, there were only 4 DNF's, so not too bad.

I agree. Using UTC is good because we can all go to LFS World and see our time listed right beside UTC, so there isn't any question about the start time.

Just a few hours left to get registered for Race 1. There are only a few spots left in the StreetStock Cup, and plenty of spots left in the BF1 Sprint Series.

To Register for the StreetStock Cup, go here: http://www.lfs-lota.net/index. ... =series;sr=register;id=25

Here ya' go.

("sample" version with gray background to see the snowflakes. )

I may end up doing a couple versions, one with a white "Sport" and white snowflakes for dark cars, and another with a blue "Sport" and blue snowflakes for light colored cars. Both will have a transparent background.

StreetStock Cup - Fall 2007 Season - Results & Standings

The StreetStock Cup is a four-race mini-series, featuring the XF GTi and the XR GT cars, the standard street cars of LFS. These basic cars don't exactly exactly remind you of proper racing cars, but when you put a pack of them together, great racing always breaks out. They require smooth driving to get the most out of them, and since the track isn't known until just before practice, the emphasis on this series is on adaptability, driver skill, and patience.

This series will run on a range of tracks, which for each event, will be randomly selected just prior to the practice session, by one of the drivers. The tracks that can be selected will be Aston Cadet (FWD & REV), Aston Club (FWD & REV), South City Classic (FWD & REV), Fern Bay Club (FWD & REV). One pitstop will be mandatory in each event.

As a LOTA mini-series, the SSC race format will consist of 25 minutes of practice, 15 minutes of qualifying, followed by a feature race that is approximately 30 minutes in length. The series will run over four consecutive weeks on Thursdays, the traditional LOTA race-day. This series will use LOTA League Server 2. All events begin at 9:30 PM EST (GMT-5)

Series Schedule
Race 1 - 15-Nov-2007
Race 2 - 29-Nov-2007
Race 3 - 6-Dec-2007
Race 4 - 13-Dec-2007

BF1 Sprint Series - Fall 2007 Season - Results & Standings

The BF1 Sprint Series is a four-race mini-series, featuring the BMW F1.06 Formula 1 car. These incredible machines will test your concentration and reaction times without mercy. Blistering speeds, traction control, incredible handling ability, and lightning quick response to input, the BF1 is truly the ultimate racing machine. The BF1 Sprint Series (BSS) will feature pit stop strategy that is purely up to each driver. Run the soft tires hard and change them oftem, or go for longevity with the harder compound. It's all up to you to decide your fate.

As a LOTA mini-series, the BSS race format will consist of 20 minutes of qualifying, followed by a feature race that is approximately 45 minutes in length. The series will run over four consecutive weeks on Thursdays, the traditional LOTA race-day. This series will use LOTA League Server 1. Each event will begin at 9:30 PM EST (GMT-5).

Race Schedule
Race 1 - 15-Nov-2007 - Aston Grand Prix - 21 Laps
Race 2 - 29-Nov-2007 - Kyoto Ring GP Long Reverse - 26 Laps
Race 3 - 6-Dec-2007 - Westhill International - 35 Laps
Race 4 - 13-Dec-2007 - Kyoto Ring National - 34 Laps

As I mentioned in the General Discussion thread, we are accepting international entries for these series.

We have considered in the past putting on a few weekend races that would be compatible with EU time zones. If we get some international competitors for the StreetStock Cup and the BF1 Sprint Series, we can better judge how the international connections to our servers (Thanks 500!) will play out. Once that is done, I'm sure you'll see some special events, and maybe a weekend series coming.
League Of The Americas opens registration to the international LFS community

The League Of The Americas (LOTA), which started a little over a year ago, provides quality LFS racing to drivers in the Western Hemisphere. Upon preliminary discussions with our loyal user base, we've decided to open up registration to the international LFS community for our two new mini-series (the StreetStock Cup and the BF1 Sprint Series), scheduled to start next week. LOTA generally stages race events on Thursday evenings at 9:30PM EST (GMT-5), and all competitors will need to be able to make that start time. We've chosen to stick with this time as it still serves our core user's best interests. These two new mini-series will serve as a test-bed to determine if this is to become a permanent policy.

LOTA is a very well organized league with comprehensive policies, support, and resources, and the racing that is found on LOTA servers is very high quality. We look forward to the increased competition that the international LFS community can offer as we continue to search for ways to make LOTA the best league it can be.

For more information on LOTA and it's racing series, please visit the LOTA Website.

I created a simple number plate that had the standard two-color MOE logo at the top, with a white field and class-appropriate colored numbers (red for GT2 in our case), and then added the large red GT2 field on the back of the car. The number plate is similar to what ALMS does with different colored numbers for LMP1 & 2, and GT1 & 2.

See our posted skin for example. http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=562716#post562716

An interesting thought is that the GT2 cars should have something on the rear, and the GT1 cars should have something on the fronts of the cars (to be seen in the mirrors of GT2 cars), since the cases where a GT2 car would pass a GT1 are limited to abnormal racing situations.

BOTT anyone? Teams of two drivers, but no switching going on. 50 laps most races, so they go well beyond 1 hour. Different tracks and cars each race.

In other words, been done before.
