I guess the reason why we have different opinions about the Audi is just a matter of what kind of performance we might want from a car called sleeper. I happen to know that many stock Audis have a, might I say, decent performance, so just under 8 seconds from 0 to 100 (or 62) isn't sleeper in my mind. I guess it's a little on the sleeperish side tho, it has a performance what would be really enjoyable for a daily driver.
I guess I might have even thought different some time ago but after owning and driving a much faster car (a sleeper type of car actually) it has changed my expectations for performance.
It has happened to me few times. Only that I'm never able to open my eyes, but I'm still waken up or more like in sleep but I feel the bed under me and I'm already able to tell the time and place. But I kinda just end up screaming in my mind "wake up" because it feels really fookin horrible. It seems to only happen when laying on my back (IIRC was mentioned in some article too). Never lasts longer than few seconds but those seconds feel really long. Also after waking up it's better to change position because if I keep laying on my back it will occur again pretty soon IIRC.
I have to admit even if it's really frightening, it's also very fascinating.
Also happened to me many times. I sometimes just realise something in my dream feels really utterly stupid or illogical and I realise that I'm dreaming. I actually still remember the dream when it first happened to me when I was maybe 10 years old at tops. But I have never been able to control the dream even after that, it still keeps going thru it's illogical ways but I just know I'm dreaming.
Altho probably 99% of my dreams are stupidly illogical, but I still don't realise it most of the time. Only realistic dreams I can remember ever having are probably few extra realistic dreams about driving cars.
I have to admit I do find the "dream world" very interesting. Also have never really experienced periods what some people describe, that they just don't see or can't remember having any dreams for long time. Always when I sleep I remember dreaming about something.
How long will it take that we're gonna have problems finding any decent file sharing sites even for our legal purposes?
Like I said in my own thread already censorship is bad and I'm feeling like it's only gonna get worse.
Fukken lovely. Not often you see a good quality incar of historic racing with the driver really pushing it.
Also Cortina doing a 3-wheeler at the front = orgasm.
Interesting. Didn't realise this before but even on the link I provided in the first post the site piraattilahti.fi was listed. I still haven't had any problems accessing it at any point.
In my mind goverment don't have the right to do either one. I am a paying customer for my ISP and the thing I am paying for is internet connection. Not some kind of a package of accessible URLs.
Internet is something we use for sharing information. The internet user is the one who decides what he want's to share and with whom.
Problem here is not the pirate war, but the censoring itself. I find it very conserning that this kind of censoring is even possible to happen in a country like Finland. I understand it happens in countries like North Korea, but Finland is supposed to be a modern democratic welfare country.
Question is that if this happens now what is next?
Maybe in few years the only accessible part of internet is the sites we pay (like television) and every site has to be approved by the goverment.
Of course this is far fecthing but maybe you get my point. Censorship is bad.
There are probably millions of sites on the internet what have much worse moral code than sites like piratebay.org, so should they all be censored also? Who decides what is good and bad?
Maybe even LFSforum should be censored because we have the possibility to talk about illegal things like driving over the speed limit etc. Some people even might have encouraged to break law here.
In my mind laws and moral code are two very different things and I live by my moral code, not by the law book.
Today I read sad news.
Here in Finland our retarded court has ordered Finland's (I think most popular) ISP, Elisa, to block piratebay.org.
Even EU court has ruled that internet censorship is illegal, so hopefully this block is not going to last long.
Of course this block is completely useless because I can still acces piratebay.ee, or use proxy to acces .org, but anyway I find things like this sickening. It's a major insult against people's freedom, any kind of internet censorship can be considered, at least in my head, being against the freedom of speech.
I'm not going to the pirate morale debate here, because it's simply too complicated of an subject to be judged black and white. But everyone should have acces to any part of the internet he/she wishes for no matter how much of a gray area the part would be morally speaking.
Maybe other people have more to add. I just wanted to open topic about this on international forum.
Don't think my hearing is any special, but engines and how they sound are a very important thing for me so I can appreciate a natural sounding record. I have a bad "habit" of not being able to enjoy car related videos if the audio quality is not at least decent. I also do lots of audio modding to games (currently only rFactor really) because I usually find the original game/mod sounds unrealistic or bad quality (distortion is very common).
I actually don't listen much music but I enjoy lots of different types, usually my playlist is what my somewhat musical friend(s) end up playing. About detail hearing I'm not so sure, at least when comparing to one friend of mine I'm only amateur because he creates his own music so I don't have the insight he seems to have. Tho our music taste can be very similar at times.
Very lovely. I especially enjoyed the 3-cylinder triumph (like a miniature V6).
Don't think I have ever heard such a good recording of engines that when it idles closely I can recognice the sound of the valve train on my other ear and the exhaust on the other.
I'm also gonna listen to the other recordings too (rally cars at least), even if they're not as awesome as these.
On the older versions of LFS all the cars had a system what kept the cars from stalling. But at least in my current LFS version the cars will stall if I let go of the clutch too quickly and without throttle.
And yes most cars with fuel injection will "try" to maintain the idle speed with ECU controller idle valve, but they are still almost as easy to stall than old carburated cars. Also there are expections, like my own cars because I have disabled the idle valve and the idle rpm is completely adjusted from the screw what stops the butterfly throttle valve from fully closing.
Finally got time to test this out from my other rFactor "projects".
TBH I'm a bit disappointed. I think cars felt much better in the earlier HGTTC mod. Now I just feel like everything is too soft. There is no edge on the grip what I could feel. I tried using the controller setups what they recommend in the manual and then tried my own settings but no real difference. I tried few different cars and I felt like they have lost their personality, they are very similar to each other.
It actually feels a bit like those weird drift mods with bodged up physics to make the cars easy to drift.
I have just completed a full sound mod for the HistoriX "1" so starting to convert them to this doesn't feel like worth the effort.
Nice. Always thought that V6's really belong in Capris since it's like an European version of a muscle car.
Hmm might aswell post my "news" also. Getting quite exited because the Cossie pistons & rods + piston rings arrived this week. Next thing on shopping list is probably a 205 block.
