Hmmm all the stages I have downloaded yet are in RX format (not original format) so they dont override the original tracks. You just need RX plugin to play them and there's no proper replays. Just dunno any good ways of installing cars without overriding.
Yeah RWD cars don't have handbrakes at all or if it's on the front wheels. But I don't mind, scandinavian flick is the way to go wouldn't need the handbrake much anyways. Mk2 Escort BDA on some Finnish rally stages FTW, nowadays I don't even bother with the 4wd stuff much.
Yeah I once tried RSRBR too and realised quite fast it's just a massive joke. Huge download, pain-in-the-ass-interface and when for instance tried the AE86 GT-Corolla GrpH (IIRC) it was just the WRC Corolla with some kind of RWD physics.
I'm not kidding. My friend owns a G27 and that's what I'm comparing to. G27 shifter don't seem to have any more resistance than G25 does it just feels less mechanical, like they have added some rubber in there to make it more silent. FFB feels all pretty much same G25 is just more noisy but it doesn't bother me, when I simrace I have the speakers on quite loud so it covers most of the noises. I simply don't like the design of G27. It looks like a toy because of the buttons and because of them it has more thick "spokes" what don't feel good at all. G25 feels and looks more like a real "sports" wheel in my hands. G27 feels more like one of those modern car's steering wheels with all those buttons for radio and A/C etc.
Their both fine but I just prefer the G25.
BTW I made the resistance mod for the G25 shifter but I guess I didn't use a big enough pieces under the springs because it didn't make much of a difference. Tho sequential still works fine. The biggest problem with G27 for me is that it has no sequential shifter, rest I would probably get used to but there are still some games/mods what require sequantial stick for me.
I'm maybe weird but I prefer the G25. It looks and feels more like a real wheel because of having less buttons and shifter is good. It may be just that I'm used to it but the shifter in G27 feels very soft and dampened. The sound of G25's shifter is problem for some but it doesn't annoy me. Also G25 shifter has the sequential option.
A tad bit too much ignition advance + boost = slight knock and a one destroyed piston. Prob gonna go for Cossie pistons & rods during winter if I just find a good set for decent price...
Topic is in a wrong section I think... Anyhow I'm not much into Codemasters products but I have good memories of CMR1, it was the first proper rally game I ever played.
When it comes to this day I have to admit Dirt 3 surprised me positively on the physics aspect. Well at least after some modding it felt quite good. I turned tire grip to 60% from the original, removed the shaking & G-force effects from cameras, moved them closer to the dash and added more FOV. I used 900 degrees of steering and h-shifter + clutch of course. After these changes driving the old skool RWD cars on Finnish roads was very enjoyable, it even managed to get me off RBR for a while. But I got bored of it quite quickly because it pretty much only has one decent special stage.
Just yesterday accelerated to +200 km/h (can't say for sure but 220 is the top number on my car's speedo and it was already past that...) and then my headgasket blew. Made a spectacular amount of smoke. 150 euros nicely spent, Cometic's gasket lasted for three days.
Gonna order a GrpA gasket and hope for better luck.
If you only drive like a granny engine will slowly start to collect soot (if this is the right English term). More soot = less power and also it gets to the oil and this will make the lubrication worse = more wear.
Giving the engine some proper right foot once in a while will burn the soot out.
My driving style is about the get much more aggressive after I get it MOT'd (possibly this week if everything goes to plan) and swap the rear axle to other one with LSD and disc brakes. Also quite possibly, more boost. Maybe at some point we may even have the camera with us.
Do you mean for the car sound remixer or using original sound engine? Because the Granada V6 is a, well, a V6. XRT has inline-4 and FZ5 boxer-6 so you can't make it properly. But you could get closer with FZ5 since the amount of cylinders is same.
Yeah cargame.nl is quite good there is usually always some good racing. Tho it can be very confusing with the different classes mixing up in the start of the race but I think it's still very enjoyable.
I myself really miss CTRA too. Used to love the tight XFG/XRG racing.
Good thing I'm that type of people who generally really dislike giving my personal information to the internet, or even registering to sites I don't really need...
