Finland owns at this department, because we are teached to drift on snow.

Well not actually, but one part of getting the part time license and then later the full time license are two courses of driving in slippery conditions.

The whole time I've spent in drive school was very boring, but I recall having a bit fun going ~80 km/h, in second gear revs at 6k and drifting thru a right hander, then tight braking for tighter left hander and then avoiding all the cones while at the same time going very wide. Even the teacher smiled.
He also admitted that my RWD car seems to be a lot better at the slalom course than the usual FWD ones, because it "turns nicely". Tho we both admired how the AWD Audi handled.

Rumour has it they're looking at other platforms, but I think they're still talking Sony exclusive. But with the way things have been going multiplatform recently, nothing would surprise me.

Well... Maybe they release it for PC, but it will require a Sony made DVD-station to work.

FAIL.

Fook me.

Didn't actually realise that the list was so huge. I just went straight to the Fords and found all my dream cars in there.

Well the good thing is that when this very likely isn't going to get released on PC, it still doesn't make me buy PS3 just for the Fords and Opels...

OMG the oldskool RWD Fords.

Now I really do hope that the rumor of it getting released for PC is true.
Also I do hope that they are able to get the cars sound right this time, at least the sounds in GT4 sucked pretty bad. I want to hear the BDA Escort scream.

Quote from SparkyDave :how much memory is the Xpress200 set to use

It says that there is 958 Mb system memory available, so I would say that physically there is 1 Gb, so the Xpress is probably using 64 Mb.

You could also get some used older card for very cheap price. LFS doesn't require much, some time ago I used to run it with ATi X800pro with high detail and high AA + AF with very good FPS. If you can find anything similar anymore it should be very cheap and doesn't maybe even require upgrading your PSU.

Of course first be sure if you need AGP or PCI-E type card. AGP cards nowadays can be harder to find.

Get a better graphics card. It's not gonna turn your computer into teh über gaming rig, but with a decent card you should be able to get good FPS in LFS.

The first part with the donut definitely is not ingame. The reason why it looks weird is because it clearly is just animation / render, where they have put the car 3d model to make that movement and then just added spinning tires etc. to make it look better, clearly there is no physics calculation or anything going on.

Probably if you go and do donut in the actual game it's not going to be realistic / natural looking then either, but well you maybe got my point.

Yeah there is always some people who think it's weird to have dreams like this, the thing is they probably have had similar dreams too. Often just don't remember.

Even I can recall having some gaming related dreams, tho usually they haven't been that nice.

Best dreams I've had must be the ones about cars and stuff. Seems like they usually are the most realistic ones too if I'm able to remember them good.
In my dreams I have turbo'd my Sierra, installed a turbo'd 2.0 Zetec in a mint original looking Anglia and in the latest one I installed a better Pinto head with aggressive cam and ITB's and aftermarket ECU to my Sierra.
The best part on the dreams is definitely when I go to test drive with them. I can recall it being so realistic it's almost scary... Overtaking a truck with rapid Anglia, feeling all the G-forces and even looking at the rev meter and thinking that this seems to pull to 7k rpm nicely. I can even remember hearing BOV and what make the boost gauge was (cheap Biltema). I also remember how it felt to sit in the tight bucket seat with 4 point harness.

But then yes it sucks to wake up and realise that it was just a dream.

It would be actually quite interesting to turn this thread in to general talk about dreams and stuff.

There's some very hilarious dreams I have had too, but they're so mental that I think I will keep them to me.

People who think that drifting etc. in powerful AWD is easy just do not know.
It takes some skill too and well a completely different driving style than ie. drifting RWD car. They both require the skill, but very different way of doing it.

That driver just is good. He maybe ain't the fastest rally driver but he knows how car handles in and out of the limit and how to use the steering wheel.

Kyseessä on siis niin sanottu rattimies.

It takes as much practice to be able to do stuff like that in AWD than it takes in RWD.

Well... Apparently.

I wonder why they included Finnish language in the translator when it doesn't seem to be able to produce anything even remotely sensible sentences.

Quote from mcintyrej :Thats probably down to your computer - at college I can watch HD stuff no problem on the good PC's, but as soon as I go on one of the crap ones that hardly run photoshop its almost unwatchable, more like a slide show than a video.

Quote from Migz :Yeah happens for me too.
I think its just crappy computers fault.

Does anybody have any links to download a high quality version of this? And i mean mega high quality, not youtube high quality.

Np it's not my computer, it's my so called gaming rig and upgraded just few months ago.

Just realised that I don't get it if I do this, put it on pause, then drag it to exactly 0:00 and THEN click the HD button, drag it to the start again wait it for buffer for a bit. Almost flawless playback then.

Nice, but...

Am I the only one, or do other people have this problem too? I have noticed that the HD videos in youtube are always jerky and stuttering annoyingly, sound is just fine, but the video keeps stuttering. Basically it makes this video a "no joy" for me.

Quote from ColeusRattus :

Case 3) Well, everything in Finland. Honestly, you Suomilainen don't talk to people. Period. Heck, I've been to funerals in Austria which were more joyful than a standard bus ride in Tampere. Nobody's talking, not even to people they know, no eye contact, no greetings. How do fins get to know new people, as they all don't start conversations?

Yes that's true, some of us are very social but majority of us are very silent and shy. Me for example I don't think I never actually start conversation, usually I just wait for other people to start it...
A very good friend of mine is one of the exceptions, I could say he is socially very skilled and just talks with everyone. He also gets all the girls with this ability of his. He also can't simply understand why it is so hard for me to start conversation with other people, he doesn't understand the concept of "have nothing to say or even if trying can't think anything to say".

TBH one of problems with guys like me is that honestly I'm not even that interested about the talks of other people who I don't know already.

And the question, well... Alcohol. It opens us (tho usually for me it's very hard to do that even when I'm drunk or at least then I will feel next day that I acted like an idiot). And ie. places where you kinda "have to" get to know people, ie. school mates, you have to start to talk them eventually.

Dunno really, we still seem to be able to get friends etc. somehow it just happens.

As a not so socially open person I do get these "socially awkward" situations quite a lot. So often that I don't feel like telling it here.

But one good example is when I go over to my friends house and he has a new girlfriend. We drink coffee, no problem. But when my friend leaves the table for a minute it gets awkward when I don't have anything to say to her and we just start staring our coffee cups.
Tho it helps that I know that the girl is probably feeling equally awkward at the same situation.

In rF I know the Nordschleife almost like my own pockets, but it never gets boring to drive on my own in there with different cars.

Dunno if I'm exited that it is in the new NFS or not, physics are probably better in the few rF mods I play so it's a lot more fun in them.

The car list is a bit of a disappointment, because all of the hype before I was expecting more old skool cars. The only one seems to be the Skyline and AE86. Escos is a nice car too, no Sierras I see, but I already have the 3dr in rF so no worries...

Trailers look like the typical trailer hype for every game, doesn't possibly have anything to do with the real product.

That doesn't actually look that bad really. It's maybe cause I'm picturing this Sierra with a turboed Pinto in my mind.

I hate the fact that I may be sticking my nose in middle of an argument over here, but...

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :

Drag racing.

Actually for what I believe, the fastest drag cars have some kind of manual transmissions. Automatic can perform really good on dragstrip, but the fastest ones I believe use a hydraulic transmission, with usually 3 different gears which are changed manually. Tho this is more like semi-auto, so to judge if it's auto or manual is a different story then. But well at least it's a "stick shift".

All I know that I'm happy driving with manual everyday, wouldn't change a thing in it.

Quote from amp88 :The 2 computers have different internal IP addresses (like 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3) so they can be identified on the internal network by each other and the router. However, to the outside world both the computers have the same external IP address. It's only when packets come to the router that they are sent to each computer by the internal IP address. If I go to WhatIsMyIp.com with 2 of the machines from my home network they both show the same IP address.

Well thanks for the info, I learn new stuff every day...

But lol wtf, we have two computers running currently in this house and when I checked the whatismyip.com, it gives both of them a different IP and it's the same IP what Windows is telling me too.

Well umf, we usually have a one router and the IP's ain't the same. Even in LAN we may use a router to have a internet connection and at the same time we are on same workgroup (file sharing etc.) and it's not possible to have same IP. It is dynamically configured for everyone. When we have more than two computers in just LAN, we use router too and then we have static IP's, Windows will give an error if some trys to use IP what's already in use.

Shouldn't two different computers be identified separately with individual IP's even when they aren't in the same workgroup?

Maybe I'm just confused.
