Ah ok, I usually have spring effect and damper effect at zero because they usually aren't used in sims. I'll try adjusting them.

-EDIT- Still no FFB

Ran a quick test. Using G25 but no FFB for me.

Car felt very weird and very unnatural, but it just might be the lack of FFB what makes me feel like this. I didn't like the looks, the shadows are very corny and they made it hard to actually see the road. Car was also very jumpy (or something) in the bumpy road, in flat surface it felt better.

Can't really judge now because it's in very early stage.

When I read about a rallysim with RWD car it gets me exited, at least it sounds good. Downloading now.

Tho I was a bit disappointed when I noticed that the rally stage is in asphalt instead of gravel.

Quote from danowat :Looks interesting, if only for the fact it has a Lada, I mean, A LADA? lmao

Lada isn't maybe the most impressive rally car ever made, but when builded good and with ie. nicely tuned Fiat TC engine it's very good basic starter RWD rally car for young rally drivers. It can be moderately fast in it's class too.

Now when I have upgraded my processor there is some difference in GTA IV. Overall it's a bit smoother and when the headligths go on it doesn't make me anymore think "oh fook why".

The weird part is that the benchmark itself gives me same results still.

None here too. There is three or four people I could put on it because they like to do annoying spam and usually seeing their avatars make me a bit annoyed. But I think the ignore list is a bit pointless, I would only use it if someone would be harassing me in some way. That happened on two Finnish forums (same guy) but I didn't even know about the ignore lists back then...

This just arrived and I installed it.

Upgraded from 4400+ to 6000+.
I'm currently running it with slight overclock.
Originally I was going for the "kuma" X2 7750 Black Edition, but I did some research and it seems like AM2+ processors won't maybe work in my current mobo, so I ordered the 6000+ instead.

Teh PC upgrade 2009 is now ready (I think). Currents specs:

Motherboard: mATX MSI K9VGM-V
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ @ 3.26 GHz
Memory: 2 Gb Mushkin (2x 1024 Mb DDR2 800 @ 407 MHz)
Graphics card: PNY GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512 Mb
Power: Xilence 420W

I could upgrade for more memory, but I think I will go there when I have a OS what supports 4 Gb.

Time to test GTA IV and Crysis.

Yeah it depends from the laws, in Finland the law says that we have to have our low-beams on all the time. Then some stupid people even do use fog lights on all the time but that's another story.

Tho this doesn't have anything to do racing. I don't see why you would wan't them to be on all the time but I also don't see it being that annoying.

OMG WTF. Again I get to say that after all it isn't that bad here in Finland.

Insurance companies aren't interested about modifications in any way. Ie. if I change my wheels for bigger ones they just need to get "MOT'd" which basicly means that the guy at the MOT station will just look if they're ok and it's few ten euros and then their legit.

We even do moan about how expensive it is lol.

I sometimes have thought about this, what affects if you freeze or not.
Because some people just freeze and some just don't.

I have had my scary moments behind the wheel, mainly during the first 6 months of having a driving license, but I never freezed, no matter what I kept steering and so on behind the wheel even if the slide wasn't anymore recoverable. I maybe wasn't able to exactly foretell what the car was going to do and my steering maneuvers were too slow, but I still didn't just lock the brakes and freeze.

But then some people do freeze, some earlier than other. In some cases it's possible teach the habit away, but sometimes even rally drivers with few years of experience freeze at some point.

I'm not saying that I'm that good that I don't freeze, but it's not natural for me too freeze like that. And I have to admit that probably during the first 6 months or so I thought that I was pretty good with car handling, but now when I think back it wasn't that impressive after all.

Pointless topic but well what the heck.

I have no evidence, but it's "only" 180 km/h. That's when my car hits RPM limiter in fourth gear. It will go faster with the new 5-speed box.

Tho because of this reply don't grow a image of me being a stupid boy racer or something. Usually I respect the speed limit better than my mom. It's the rare short stints and overtaking moments when I go "too" fast.

Quote from G!NhO ::doh:

Jussi=Juicy=wet

Pussi=Pussy=No cat>other pussy

Juicy Pussy

Yeah, was hard for me as a Finnish to get it first, because we don't pronounce it even closely like that. But then I started thinking about how a foreigner could pronounce these words.

This is again getting very OT, but about Opels.

I think that 90's to this day Opel have been rubbish like many other cars too, ie. the other Ferrari wannabe, Calibra, is just a horrid car.

But the other "wannabe". I don't think that Manta had nothing to do with Opel getting a bad name, because for me at least one of my dream cars is a B-Manta with some nice N/A engine. Same goes to other old skool Opels too of course. B-Manta and B-Ascona were good rally cars on their time.

I got an interesting "bug" yesterday.

You may have noticed that in this game majority of the cars feel like they either don't have limited slip differential or it's not working properly and so you can't do proper doughnuts.

Well yesterday I picked up the Dukes car, the one what's like a Dodge Charger with side exhausts. After some mission some guy called me (to Niko actually) and while Niko was talking to phone I started a standing burnout. When the phone call was over I released the brake and suddenly my diff felt like it was welded! I had a locked diff and made very nice round doughnuts my both tires smoking until I blew the tires. After that I fixed my car and tried to recreate this nice "bug" but no luck.

There's already some tools out what allow to modify the physics and this made me think if there is some value and changing it can give you a locked diff. Could be nice.

Quote from Thunderhead :You'll figure it out when you get older.

Please mommy, I turn to 20 next week, I'm old enough. Just explain me the joke. Mommy please.

-EDIT- Does it have something to do with how you pronounce the words?

BTW, Jussi is a Finnish name and Pussi means bag.

This thread reminded me about one day-dream I had. Take a Mitsubishi Starion and modify it as an exact copy of XRT. Man that would be awesome to drive it IRL.

With normal Nvidia drivers it is usually enough to just uninstall them. Go to Control Panel --> Add or remove programs and select Nvidia drivers and uninstall them. There is also driver cleaners but I usually don't use them.

After uninstall just restart computer and install the latest drivers.

Well I used to when I was younger, but I kinda got bored to them when I got my hands to a real car. Kinda shame because I had just found a quite rare ESCI model from 80's, a mk2 BDA rally Escort and just had painted the body white but never finished it.
Well at least it was rare before Revell started producing it again.

Picture of my showcase.
And of course picture of my favorite.

Well if their not full of BS like they've been lately that is good news.
Better physics and getting proper incar view reminds me of the old good times, NFS3-5 were very good games on their time. 1 & 2 too, but I didn't play them "back in the days".

Dunno about what cars it should have, "oldskool" style with Lambos and Ferraris and Porsches would be very cool, but I remember when I was 10 I used to dream about NFS with cars like Cossies and etc.

But that screenshot kinda made me be afraid that it's going to be packed with too much bling.

S14 has a point, in the picture imthebestracerthereis posted that guy actually looks a lot more healthier in the "before" picture. The guy on the right is probably very dehydrated and looks like he's about to die for not eating properly.

Oh and on the topic I haven't seen ads like that.

Quote from theirishnoob :nah, they dont, you like to, they like to burst rear tyres and enjoy poor aero-dynamics...

Great cars, pitty they are getting rarer daily.

No they actually do, when the engine is almost new and built for this kinda of usage I tend to think that it likes to get driven hard and actually if I would drive it like a granny it wouldn't be good for it either. My driving style can be very harsh sometimes but that's what this car is built to and it's actually very reliable every day car.

And btw aerodynamics in these Sierras are actually quite good for it's time.

Luckily in Finland these cars aren't that rare, spare parts are available in every corner etc. Tho majority of average Sierras aren't in such good condition.
